    Beautiful. Have 2 82 cb650s in my garage right now. My son and I are starting our projects this spring. See who make a better bike. Neither running now. Carbs in the basement for rebuild and some wiring problems on both, hopefully I can work that out. But thanks for the inspiration.

    i really like loud sound of heavy bikes , but one thing in my heart always stop me using heavy sound silencers is that there might be people , ill or old people sleeping or taking rest in their homes . they might be disturbed by the loud sound . that's why i avoid running such loud bikes .

    • @jdc2597

      I agree. Usually, around here, it's Harleys and Ford Mustangs. Sometimes you can't even have a conversation outside until they pass. I have a few bikes that are personally mine that are race bikes and are inherently loud, but I only take them out a couple of times a year. Thank you for your comment.

      Thank you for taking the time to post your message. That's the early 80s. Look for the one with the single backbone frame. This model also had the screw adjustments for the valve clearances. Very easy bike to maintain, and the single backbone frame gives you a really wide variety of gas tanks to consider.

    Clean build , the proportions are all off. Seat too small , gas tank too small , tires too big. Sounds amazing though!

    • @coolmonkeymc8268
      @coolmonkeymc8268  4 года назад +1

      Had to rewire the whole bike. Used a lot of space where the center stand used to be. Mounted the battery, solenoid, and R/R. If I remember, this particular bike, I think it had the two CDI units and I mounted those under the seat. Thanks for the comment.

    • @jeanninesosa8115
      @jeanninesosa8115 5 лет назад

      I fabricated some T bars because on this model you need long extensions to run down the clamps. You can also adjust the height when done.

    I love this bike, you did a great work that inspired me to do something like this for my Honda CB 900.
    Can you tell me something about the gas tank?
    Where it comes from? Or It's hand made?
    Thanks a lot 👍🏼

    • @jdc2597
      @jdc2597 4 года назад +1

      Thank you for the comment. That is an early Yamaha dirt bike gas tank. You can search 79/80 Yamaha MX100 DT100. As far as fitment, that's probably one of the few Honda frames that will fit with this type of gas tank. The CB650 had a single backbone. Most frames after that had the double with supporting cross members. I have a few CB900s under tarps. I'd have to go look, but I'm betting they're the double type which, if so, would probably be a better candidate for a Honda Super Magna 87/88 which, to me, are very stylistic tanks. Hope this helps. Again, thank you for the comment.

    • @ChopperTano

    Nice job. Orange somehow has become my fav color. I have a custom 72 750four. Rust & black. Mine is lowered in stead of lifted. Dont kno much about The 650. It looks like it's lighter & a little quicker than mine. Where are you all located?

    • @coolmonkeymc8268
      @coolmonkeymc8268  5 лет назад

      Thank you for the email. We're located in El Paso, Texas. Don't know if it would be quicker. Size matters. If yours is in a good state of tune, I would think it would easily outperform the 650. Again, thank you for the message.

    • @coolmonkeymc8268
      @coolmonkeymc8268  4 года назад +1

      @@darkstar9448 I believe your engine is the one with the plain bearings. On a conservative view, I would just use the recommended conventional grade oil. I personally, because I am selling the bikes, I use High Mileage Automotive 10W-40, which has extra phosphorus and zinc additives. And for all the tail pipe sniffers out there that will cringe at the thought of automotive oil, it is what it is. But, back to your question. Synthetic oils do tend to clean the inside of motors, so you may run the risk of having a leaking seal or two. I understand you want to enjoy pride of ownership and take good care of your motorcycle, and if that were the goal for myself, I would be happy with a Castrol GTX motorcycle oil. Your bike will probably be pampered and you will be doing the right thing without any excess.
