    Love it dude! My dad has a old (metallic blue) 1980 CB650. And I’m trying to get it to run again! Idk if I’ll keep it stock. But it needs a fresh exhaust. My dad modified it already when he was young. I feel like its my turn now 👀

      I think the custom version of the CB650 is not worth keeping it stock. She is just too ugly xD realize your dream and build your perfect 80s oldschool cafe/brat racer which you will love and keep it as a memory and honor to you dad. Just do it bro ❤️

      @@SuuperSXV great job, seems like it really pulls. Mine is a CB650 custom, still working on it to run then see how i can modify the dynamics to be a cafe racer rather than a cruiser

    • @SuuperSXV
      @SuuperSXV  3 года назад +2

      @@hsdlive this is the same bike, it is a bit of work to get the softchopper transformed into a light cafe racer. Shorten and stiffer your fork, get longer shocks in the back and try to install a steering damper because your steering head angle will be to aggressive and dangerous in fast corners. And don't use retro tires like all cafe racer, they drive terrible, no sidewalls no grip - just show and shine.

    • @hsdlive
      @hsdlive 3 года назад

      @@SuuperSXV Thank you so much! So I got the progressive suspension just ordered. mine was already tried to be a cafe racer by the previous owner but I doubt he did anything other than cosmetics. I got the vintage Japanese-style rear shocks but not yet installed (340mm)-13.4", I think I can swap them for the longer 14.4". Can I connect with you to share some pictures?

    • @hsdlive
      @hsdlive 3 года назад

      what tires are you running in the back, the previous owner had Bridgestone 100/90/19 front and 130/90/16. they do need replacements so I'm looking for good tires to swap them out with. unfortunately Michelin pilot activ don't do 16s. so I'll have to look for something else.

    • @SuuperSXV
      @SuuperSXV  3 года назад +1

      @@anthograham No i took a battery with other dimensions, smaller in the width but higher, to fit under the swingarm and replace the center stand. The ignition system and the generator dont work without voltage, so if your small lithium battery died you are not able to start the engine. To much risk in my opinion.

      @@andresacosta7381
      yes the cv carbs are a nightmare to tune it perfectly. I will give you a short rundown of my mods. After 1 year of adjustment it finally running perfect. Setup: optimized pod filter with short velocity stack insinde, lite porting on the head and a 4 in 4 open exhaust. You need to shorten the carb springs around 3 turnings, then you need to raise the needle with shims around 3-4mm, to fit the new position of the needle you need to slitly drill holes in the bold which holds the needle in place. The hole must be a bit bigger then the needle head and the shims. The needle on this carbs needs to move free but not in the height. You can use jb weld to fill the drilled bolds and after that to make it fit perfect. I'm running a 150 main jet. Take care of the cheap pod filter because they close the important holes in the front of this cv carbs which a necessary to move the slider. You can search here on yt how to drill the bolds because a lot of harley bikes using this trick on their cv carbs.
