Fascinating, seeing an in depth tour of the air drill. Thank you Tom, Olly, and Morgan. Watching you driving a combine harvester should make for some great Sunday entertainment.
Can I just say, coming from a non farmer, that farming can be ace! Love all the tools you can get to make your life easier. Olly is such a knowledgeable guy, and your father is too.♥
Fascinating. I was trying to explain to a BBC journalist last week how farming should no longer be seen as low skilled manual labour and is a highly skilled occupation now and kids need to be taught this and think of it as a career choice.
Your comment deserves far more 'likes'! The truth is, that it never was really a low-skilled job and whilst more manual labour was required in years gone by, all that has really changed is that it has become that farmers have far more access to scientific tests (soil analysis for example) than they ever did but also need to be able to interpret the lab findings. I'm really glad that you took the time to try and explain to a BBC journalist as the general population's perception of farming and farmers really needs to change. Jeremy Clarkson and indeed people like Tom Pemberton and others like him. have really helped with that and it is high time that the politicians and the media start to get behind agriculture in the same way.
@@andrewjones-productionsyour right an old saying iv heard is my farther will have forgotten more than I know, the past generations of farmers had great knowledge of their stock fields nature and the seasons
You can't increase your productivity if you can't measure and control all the parameters. The only thing that farmers can not control is the weather. That's just luck. you have golf ball hail here and nothing 100 meters away at the other field
Definately. Morgan is a great example of the modern skilled farm machinery operator. It's a very technical role now, much more so than my generation who thought tramlines were fancy
@@chrishar110sadly we cant control the political climate either, the cost of inputs or the prices we receive. The weather is only part of the problems. Then were told to feed the birds not people. It's all madness
This is fascinating. a real example of ecologically sound farming that is good for the environment and good for the farmer. Would love to see more of this. Olly is an amazing source of information. That's what I love about your channel.
The comment about pigeons being the last animal on earth cracked me up, I am cycling through a desert in China and yesterday I saw loads of pigeons haha!
Tom, brilliant collaboration with Olli. Very informative, and shows to people how skilled tractor drivers are, and the maths involved day to day, volumes, speeds, area, percentages etc. Obviously, the mullet on show was epic, surely a shampoo endorsement will come of this. Great work.
Addicted to this channel, surrounded by farmland here on Anglesey, just took farmers for granted as part of the furniture, I'm in my 50's and learning via UCTP (University college of Tom Pemberton)
Massively appreciated the time and effort you all three took to explain and show us this amazing piece of machinery. Knowing how busy you all are, it's amazing you're taking the time to show us what's going on and why. Please do a follow-up if it fits the schedule. I know some of the seeds and would love to see the field in a couple of weeks! This is farming like it should be, as far as I understand nature and what's going on above and below the surface of these fields... Thanks again Tom, for the video. I really enjoy watching it all!
Wow, I love how they're looking out for the birds while farming! It's cool to see nature and farming go hand in hand. Makes me wanna learn more about these methods! 🌾🐦
2 minutes in - it's beyond fantastic to see my favourite u-tube British farmers both educating each other and those who watch worldwide as to the farming processes used to produce food for the masses. Well done Olly and Tom + Morgan showing why he's able to perform tasks at such a high standard and drive such large machinery equipment on a dime. 80% as it's chucking it down here in South Australia
Cover crop is pretty much the best thing to do after harvesting a main crop off the field. You get alot of value in the soil back, better terain, soil erosion control, weed suppression, prevention of leaching of nutrients (nitrogen) into the subsoil..
A wonderful informative video, saw you on Ollies video making this one. unbelievable the technology on machines today, agree that ye would make great teachers
I really enjoyed this video. Up close with equipment I usually see from a distance. This would be considered a small rig here in Saskatchewan Canada. You could have as many as 5 rigs side by side working through the night. It is something to see on a clear night across the fields. Visibility can be 10 miles so you can see different setups in every direction.
An excellent video. You two / three have explained alot and answered alot of questions on how and why the land is managed. Would like to see a follow-up in a few weeks if possible.
What a great video. I follow both of you but having Ollie explaining all the things that the drill/tractor combo are doing and the benefits of the SFI on crop erosion and helping feed the birds (Pigeons are rats w/wings and don’t count) was very interesting. Can’t wait for you to come back and drive a combine! I have faith you can do as we Morgan! 😮😂
I love it. That's a HUGE drill. It just amazes me how big these implements are getting & to think .. the original drills & other implements were pulled by horse's & they created their own large machine's. Love it see the seed sprouted. I think I missed it, but can Ollie give a list of the scf mix? Love to see you all in the combine too. 😊
Thomas you would freak out at one of our 1100HP tractors pulling a 100 foot bar, if we just had the water you get in the UK......... I love it when a Newbie gets all excited about cover crops, no till farming and cattle ranching.
78th! T.G.I.F.! Tom,Luke, Hiedie,Hanna,Anna and the ginger warrior with a mustache, along with the rest of the farm crew. That’s one big piece of machinery. Will be watching for the next video on this field later on. Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
You three should have masks on. Farmers Lung. That's some beast. Yeah, pigeons, got 2 nesting in my hedge out the back. Great video, so interesting. 👍👍👍💯💯💯👍👍👍
Im always staggered by how much Olly knows about the detail of his kit when he doesn't get much of a chance to play with it himself. Really interesting Vid to educate how clever things have become become - far cry from the man with the seed fiddle!
Nice bit of kit, has you say in Britain 🇬🇧. Don't have alot of Fendt's in west Pennsylvania, but the few I've seen seem to be 5 yrs ahead of most American tractors
I can't believe that farmer said if he ploughs it lets carbon out as that is a bad thing if it wasn't for carbon nothing would grow every thing needs carbon to grow Carbon Is Good don't let anybody say it is Bad.
Fantastic vid again, great to see you n Olly in the 1 vid You seem as in ore, impressed and amazed as the non farmer I am lol Total respect to you both and all the other farmer's who go out every day to produce food for the nation
We need an Olly and Morgan D' Mullet milking the Pemberton Cows in your new Palour. Or Andrew Pemberton and Ollybloggs Dad talking about their Social MeJar sons.😊😊😊
Anyone else starting to think Tom's having an arable content year? Sooooo many crop vids lol. N yes b4 everyone comes at me, I know there's been cow content too. Just feels like the crops are featured more this year that's all lol

Yes do go back in 2 months
Ain't That the Truth
Having more equipment means more work. It does not make life easier.

It's not a Tom Pemberton video without that belting tune during the drone shots. Absolutely love that tune

Thanks for showing us the drill Olly!! Love to see what happens in a couple of weeks. The interplanting is fascinating!

Nice kit there Tom. Olly's a good friend to let you come see it and ride along.
This man makes sense and would make a very good teacher (a bit like your self 😅 ) fascinating as usual all best Rich W Ely UK 🇬🇧

I love this channel so much
Brilliant video today Tom, excellent to see Olly and Morgan seeding the land. 😊👍
WOW, that was so interesting, didn't know there was so much to it. Please go back in a month or so, so we can see what the field looks like.
That piece of kit is so cool and so big
Have a awesome day Tom!

I liked that last running shot of the drill. Somehow the camera matched the wheel speed. Looked like the rims were spinning but the tires weren't!
Hi Tom, great video. What a set-up Oliver has there. WOW
Take care and stay safe till next time. ❤❤
Fascinating. I loved this video
Great video tom Olly. 🎉
So very interesting!❤
Really interesting that. Definitely do a follow up video
Thanks for the video Tom.
BeWell and StaySafe ✌️

Fantastic video educational to the non farming community and explains where food comes from and how it ends up on the supermarket shelf
That was fascinating. Especially to an interested, but non farmer.
Well that was great ......... amazing work, well done.
You should check out Mike mitchell, running 84' drills in western canada, they farm 45000 acres, one of their biggest fields is 5800 acres
Enjoyed the video ✔️
Very educational again! Olly have a great idea with the biomass and erosion work. 😊
Great video Tom
Great video Tom 👍👍

Very good Vid
Said it before Morgan knows his stuff. Should have his own channel.

You should get Olly and Morgan in the milking parlour 😂😂😂
Tom, I think you should drive a combine and Olly should milk a cow!! 👍👍🤣🤣
Im always staggered by how much Olly knows about the detail of his kit when he doesn't get much of a chance to play with it himself. Really interesting Vid to educate how clever things have become become - far cry from the man with the seed fiddle!
Evening Tom
When i lived in France, they use too over winter fields of Red clover. Then plow/seed in on top.
I see the Eddie gurerro look is in with farners
Nice bit of kit, has you say in Britain 🇬🇧. Don't have alot of Fendt's in west Pennsylvania, but the few I've seen seem to be 5 yrs ahead of most American tractors
As much I'd I'd like a TP combine video..... I think an Anna combine video would be more fun.
Tom, try and test the variomatic gearbox in the Fendt if you can. I think you ll like it.
Love the content Tom, been watching for years. Could or would you consider standalone mic (s) for broadcasting content
ollie sent us all over Tom
Hey man , you sped up the folding and unfolding of the drill, how long does it actually take to fold and unfold ?
Also how heavy is the drill loaded ?
What is that music you use over the drone shots of the drilling ? Weirdly it’s a piece of music I automatically relate to your channel . X

Anyone else starting to think Tom's having an arable content year? Sooooo many crop vids lol. N yes b4 everyone comes at me, I know there's been cow content too. Just feels like the crops are featured more this year that's all lol
85%😃
love ur videos...whats the name of song 14:20
Hi
You dont have to be a genius to understand that you'll get a greater reward if you work with nature rather than constantly fighting against it.
Should get olly to do your reseeding lol
For Olly, is that the field that looked like a rice paddy early spring 2023?
Farmer's Lung still occurs today. Please mask up when doing things like pouring seed or talc into seeders.
Farming is one term, land engineering might be another!!
