As a 70 y o female that really is not interested in how vehicles work, I however love how you problem solve and fix your equipment. Keep it up, I enjoy your inventiveness.
That was a great video Adrian. Your creativity and skills know no bounds. I love how you talk us through all the phases. Restoring old machines is so fascinating. It must take great ingenuity and engineering skills to build these machines.
I had forgotten that you had bought this and was working on it. When this video first began I was thinking you were going to tell us that you were scrapping it!!! Then you started fixing it! Love how the workshop you built is working out for you. I truly think there isn't anything you can't fix. Looking forward to the next installment!!!
Tilt the machine/dipper to the required angle with the jack legs. This will align the dipper up to the ears of the bucket to put the pin in. No need to lift the bucket manually then.
Great vid.. love the 50b ill get ideas from you on our old one.. 😅.. but see when it comes to putting the back actor back on . Connect the main lift/boom ram first and use the ram to move things to line up the bottom pin.. done this a few times for taking on and of backactors just make sure the hoses cope with the strech 😜😆😄.. hope you know what im on about.. but you might already have he job done to.. cracking work as usual 👌.. stay safe 🏴
Great job in working out the puzzle taking it apart 😊 I love watching things like this, I hope you are going to above the new second hand parts a good service and paint before fitting them on the monster 😊
I have to say these are some of my favourite videos. I should have been a mechanic really, lol😂 👏👏 You seem to be able to tackle most things and your enthusiasm shows through. Great video. 👍
Another great video Adrian, no job too big for you!!!! Impressed with your ability to problem solve and adapt items to make the job easier . Look forward to Sundays when I can watch another video . Great stuff 👍
Me too!!! Glad someone else picked up on that. My goodness, one would want to have a sense of humor, talent and A LOT of patience to work with machinery. I can't imagine what putting it all back together is going to be like...God bless us🤔🤥
Love watching you Adrian, your videos and content are brilliant, my husband (retired now)and son are heavy goods fitter's and loved watching them and the way they put things back together again 👍🏻 Can't wait to see the end result of your digger😃 Have a wonderful day Adrian and family ❤
Adrian. Glad your re starting the 50B I have found TWO identical diggers stood in fields close to my house… both in fairly good condition but been stood for years… may be great for spares, I will try and trace the owners
Great video Adrian, your sum man for your projects, can't wait to see the rebuild, Good luck to Farmer Phill with the tractor run hope they raise lots of money see he will have his big rebuilt Massey out that would be nice to see, any good luck to and all yours Adrian keep up the great video's
Adrian you mentioned about welding a crack before you weld drill a small hole at each end of the crack it will stop the crack from travelling on something I was told 50 odd years ago by a very smart man that was self taught like yourself there's nothing he couldn't do
Nice work on the old digger! That side-to-side shuttle is a nice feature. I'm not aware of that option for any backhoes that are common in the US. It is commonly found on forklifts, especially the larger ones though. On those, it's nice to not have to manually widen or narrow your forks if needed.
When you are putting on a bucket on uneven ground use your Jack's to bring the holes in line so you don't have to try and leaver the ducket , love the show
Good stuff Adrian, thinking about a big job like this sometimes is worse than the actual job, once you get stuck in one thing leads to another and the job gets done😉 Amazed with the mechanical jobs I get done just by research through books and RUclips and stocking up on decent tools,I’m a metal fabricator by trade but love doing different jobs on cars jeeps etc also to learn and gain confidence….great feel good factor in pulling off a job you thought initially you weren’t capable of doing. You have a very similar mindset to me i think😄
John Power, you are one sound man. Fair play. A very generous gesture. Guys like you makes us proud to be Irish. Great shout out Mr. Morris. P.S. Why not get a 4 leg gazebo, a big umbrella for outdoor work. Use your ingenuity to counter wind. I reckon you'd get great use out of it.
I have always remarked that about him, he constantly mentions other channels to check out and support. It’s a very good sign of a person in my book. There’s not many people left like that.
When putting on the bucket, push out the bucket ram first and get that lined up with a smaller diameter pin, the lift it up in the air with that. Then push in or out the dipper arm to line it up, then in and out with the bucket ram to get it home
Great to see your amazing and inspiring work on the digger. Quite similar to my uncle's 50HX. You are seriously handy man, would love to be on your level one day. On the 10th (sep) I'll be 18 so might as well crack on if I'm gonna have time to catch up to your skills😂. Great video😊. Love to see you working on machinery and would definitely like a video where you go through how to sort out play in different joints and whatever else needs fixing. My dad bought a 2.5t tracked digger about a year back for us to build a pool by ourselves and it's got quite a lot of play in it so would love to see you be as intricate as possible eith all details on this digger to see can I learn to fix some stuff on our tracked machine. Much love❤
I try not to blow smoke 💨 up peoples arses only when they are outstanding at their trade or sport usually. Mechanic, Electrician, Pipe Fitter, Welder, Engineer, Plumber. The list goes on! That’s only the stuff you are good at. Father, Husband and Farmer are what you are outstanding at. I can say this living in Suffolk I know a few farmers and they are generally MISERABLE, TIGHT, and the biggest BODGE ARTISTS I’ve ever met 😂. However they are the hardest workers in anyone’s country and where would we be without them ? Pretty screwed I should think and they do need a lot of praise for what they do. Adrian your Farm is OUTSTANDING mate in every way possible 👍🏻
Restriction in the hydraulic fitting probably to slow fish the rate of slew. You'll see similar connected to the main lift ram on your hedge cutter, to stop it dropping like a stone, and make it more controllable.
Those locking rams will work if the lever is pulled back fully, its a bit weird. The other levers are forward and back like most hydraulics but that one has a further bit of movement back where its locks back. They are very fond of leaking too
If it is just one spline gone on that motor shaft, and it fits well into the pivot, there should be enough contact on what is left, it just locates it, not like it needs to mesh when it rotates?
Enjoying your videos for a while but today I have to comment. At 20.57 you referred to a part as "this galoot". I haven't heard that word for years, Probably not since my late Father, God rest him, called me a "feckin galoot".
watch wes work, fixed one of those on a mf40 I not sure if it was just the slew motor. I've shifted thousands of bales on a 50B in the 80's with a flat 8 grab on the front.
I collect model plant along with 1-32 scale tractors and everything for my model farm but i have never seen a model MF 50B one i used to work all kind of plant for a living when i was a lot younger than i now ?
"I'm putting the colored cable ties on for you. I can remember where the hoses go", gave me a chuckle 🤣
As a 70 y o female that really is not interested in how vehicles work, I however love how you problem solve and fix your equipment. Keep it up, I enjoy your inventiveness.
There's not many people who tackle a big project like that, along with running the farm. Great video as usual
Brilliant video Adrian. I admire your confidence and your never say no attitude
Thanks Alan
Yourself and farmer Phil are a great watch thats my Sunday viewing
That was a great video Adrian. Your creativity and skills know no bounds. I love how you talk us through all the phases. Restoring old machines is so fascinating. It must take great ingenuity and engineering skills to build these machines.
Absolutely fantastic separation ADRIAN. ROCK ON .

God blessed you with your family and team's 🙏💕
Looks very complicated to me. Can not imagine the rebuild. Good luck !
Thank you for sharing. 🐄
Great show Adrian! I'm always learning something from you. Have a great day!
Adrian, you never cease to amaze me with the repairs you know how to do!!
Adrian great video. Hope all is well with your father 👍🏻🇨🇦☘️
Pure determination would be the correct analysis for this project. Very entertaining and inspiring to watch. Well done 👏🏻
Tilt the machine/dipper to the required angle with the jack legs. This will align the dipper up to the ears of the bucket to put the pin in. No need to lift the bucket manually then.
Cracking video as always hope you get it sorted Adrian 👍👍👍
Great vid.. love the 50b ill get ideas from you on our old one.. 😅.. but see when it comes to putting the back actor back on

Great video Adrian, well done on taking the backhoe off. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Excellent video, been meaning to do this for 8 years on mine but haven’t had the courage , looking forward to the next vid cheers
Great video Adrian, you’re a bit of a genius on the quiet.
Another great video Adrian, no job too big for you!!!! Impressed with your ability to problem solve and adapt items to make the job easier . Look forward to Sundays when I can watch another video .
Great stuff 👍
Fair play to you for tackling this Adrian can’t wait to see it fully operational
I'm so glad u marked them pipes, i would've been so confused if u hadn't 🤣.... everything is as clear as mud now.
Me too!!! Glad someone else picked up on that. My goodness, one would want to have a sense of humor, talent and A LOT of patience to work with machinery. I can't imagine what putting it all back together is going to be like...God bless us🤔🤥
Great job adrain keep up the good work

Nice to see you getting the JCB up and sorting it out, it's been a while, thank you for posting.
Well Adrian love watching your videos, very interesting. Loads of different we jobs you tackle and that keeps it fresh.
Great video Adrian, your sum man for your projects, can't wait to see the rebuild, Good luck to Farmer Phill with the tractor run hope they raise lots of money see he will have his big rebuilt Massey out that would be nice to see, any good luck to and all yours Adrian keep up the great video's
Excellent update - look forward to seeing the work completed.
you're an incredible engineer 💪💪
Thanks Fer explaining everything that is going on.
Great video Adrian. You can turn your hand to anything.
what a determined fella, great stuff, great to keep up with the million tasks you have to do.
Great video ur a handy man around the farm
Great video Adrian as always 👌
Cracking video as always. Sunday’s Wouldn’t be the same without your videos
You made that job look easy. Well done.
Great video as always Adrian keep them coming lad
Youse opened a can of worms again Adrian but i'm sure it will be fixed because thats what you do , watching your Sunday videos is awesome .
You are the man for the job Adrian. 👍😊👍
Good for Farmer Phil 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great stuff Adrian, keep at her Lad!
Great video Adrain, love the videos on old machines
Adrian you mentioned about welding a crack before you weld drill a small hole at each end of the crack it will stop the crack from travelling on something I was told 50 odd years ago by a very smart man that was self taught like yourself there's nothing he couldn't do
Great video. Your extension knowledge is amazing. Also the right tools make the job easier. 😊

Great video Adrian u can put your hand 2 anything 👍
You have very varied days.😊
Are the hens wandering about escapees ?😊
Well done Gate Wifeee.😊😅😊😊
Thanks for the show Adrian 🍻
Hi lad that was a great job with your yellow JCB and you will make a good job out of it your good at it lad 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
When you are putting on a bucket on uneven ground use your Jack's to bring the holes in line so you don't have to try and leaver the ducket , love the show

Another great video has always Adrian Sinead and girls 👍
Nice video again, would be nice to get that side shift working
You can get those hex head sockets in screwfix too. The bit of heat always helps. You do nice tidy work Adrian
I'm well aware that rain comes from all angles in our Sun kissed isle!
A great video, there always will or away to do these jobs.😊
Chap in Wexford has Loads of Stuff for them 50 Bs
I know him he’s very Helpful.
Boy Called Joe Nolan
Great video on digger lad
Worked on a lot of 50 B's good machines if looked after
Yes, been waiting patiently for this one Adrian. cmon the 50B 🙂
A bit of heat and brute force can't beat it😂
Great job that will be a handy yoke around the farm. Get yourself a 1/2 inch breaker bar you will bust your racket opening tight bolts
Nice work sir.
Super video again Adrian. Great shout out to farmer Phil.
I have always remarked that about him, he constantly mentions other channels to check out and support. It’s a very good sign of a person in my book. There’s not many people left like that.

I’ve just come to comments to suggest that way lol. Best an easiest way to put on a bucket 👍👍😊
That makes sense in fairness, that was my very first go at putting on a digger bucket. Learning a bit everyday 😀👍
@@IFarmWeFarm I didn’t invent that technique, but I was glad to learn it!!
Eh Mike It’s the reverse for a 50 Ton bucket not as easy move with the crow bar Great video
@@0796logsplitter great minds think alike, fools seldom differ…
Great work on the Digger, a cavan man welding up them couplers, and waisting them 😅
Great vid today!!!!
Another great video Adrian. Top channel!!👍…. Also Farmer Phil’s uncle Ian died from cancer so the run is in his name. Good call out!!
JIC are the hydraulic fitting for 50b u can remove slew motor by removing the 4 bolts on motor and slacken 4 on the king post 5 minute job
I love how you have the cowboy hat on for goinnat the dodgy work😅😅
Great video

Adrian your Farm is OUTSTANDING mate in every way possible 👍🏻
Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
I took my off very easy but two timber block and pull the two pins in the back and put quicker releases on the hoses
Restriction in the hydraulic fitting probably to slow fish the rate of slew.
You'll see similar connected to the main lift ram on your hedge cutter, to stop it dropping like a stone, and make it more controllable.
Joe Nolan in enniscorthy is the man for parts for the 50, on done deal, massey diggers in Wexford. Sound man
Carlow engineering would be a very good shout if you need any shafts or pins made up
Those locking rams will work if the lever is pulled back fully, its a bit weird. The other levers are forward and back like most hydraulics but that one has a further bit of movement back where its locks back. They are very fond of leaking too
Good stuff
Hi Adrian, where did you come by the Australian akubra hat? All you need is a bit of Australian sunshine to go with it 😂
I bought that about 10 years ago, absolutely love it as it keeps the sun and rain off me and is nice and cool if it’s warm
Do the bottom bearing when it out because they are known to go I had to do the bearing in both my 50 b and 50 h diggers
Could get you a really good backactor with slew motor etc for 1000 pounds in Scotland but plenty of breakers yards in Ireland if you have a look
Got to me my most favourite Irish word "Bucket"
Great Video. I was wondering if it was old enough to be " imperial" as you say. We call it standard over here lol. 👍
I am Imperial😂😂
my usual day consists of crocheting baby blankets, making patchwork quilts - so why do I find repairing a digger so fascinating?
Total hardship there, just saying,a big project😊
Big job but should make some difference to the machine.need her running to get rid of all the water running out of the sky 🙄👍
Hi it's easier if you put back pin in first 👍
You have patience off jobe😂
Hi Adrian. I have a question unrelated to this video if that’s ok. What size is your tractor loader bucket and what brand? Thanks.
Old machines are like old houses once you start ripping you’ll keep finding problems.
If it is just one spline gone on that motor shaft, and it fits well into the pivot, there should be enough contact on what is left, it just locates it, not like it needs to mesh when it rotates?

Blank caps - you need a 3d printer. 😁 We did the slew on our old Ford. The back actor wasn't taken off as professionally as yours.
I collect model plant along with 1-32 scale tractors and everything for my model farm but i have never seen a model MF 50B one i used to work all kind of plant for a living when i was a lot younger than i now ?
I am running out of plaudits for this man, thank you Adrian for another video gem.GHTYAY
