I'm happy to hear more people acknowledging the pitfalls of standard productivity and life management advice for neurodivergents. Me 10 years ago would have been much better off realizing that kind of advice didn't fit and not wearing that glove. I also like how you recommended an alternative strategy, since the problem at hand is still a problem.

I definitely appreciate the attempt to de-mystify "Japanese Wisdom" and connect it to ideas from books like Atomic Habits. Also appreciate your acknowledgement that neurodiverse people have to go about the concept a little differently. Would half of these ideas work for me? I mean . . . no, my auDHD brain wouldn't tolerate most of this. However, I'm glad that you could position yourself within the conversation without getting too egotistical about it.
(I can also appreciate the urge to explain every interesting concept from your field of study, because that is how I feel about studying fine art at the moment.)

My top gripe with Japan-related content is the excessive idealization/mystification of Japan, and my top gripe with self-improvement content is the ignorance for neurodiversity (and ego of "this is the BEST way" vibe). I think there are a lot of valuable principles people can apply in ways that work for them, and shaming people for not being able to implement particular applications that don't work for them is totally counter-productive!
Like "mistake proofing" for ADHD might be, rather than creating obstacles, create helpful cues and organizing your space to work with how you best process information (e.g. labeling cabinets to help with potential object permanence issues). People get stuck on specific applications and forget core principles can be much more broadly applicable!
