Ever since we built our cabin we have purchased so many ( devices ) such as your shower set up that you don't need all the modern things like most homes have....
There is a device for everything that does not require so much power if any at all.....
The only thing we spent a lot of money on is our solar , propane tank that allows us to refill our smaller tanks and our water tanks complete with a filtration system ....
All the other devices they have now has completed our cabin.....
It feels so good to be free of the corporations that rob people every day.....
God bless and love your videos

The world is waiting anxiously for the shower video, the bears are too. I see now why you catch the rain water. That water warmed up pretty quick. The hair cut looks like a new man. Good video. Good idea to get an adapter (amazon or elsewhere) so you can charge those expensive 1# bottles from a 25# one. Five bucks for a bottle here in the states as compared to ten or twelve for 25# bottle fill. Depending on where you are.

I installed mine permanent in my trailer and i like it but The only downside is a little bit of propane smell and sometimes very seldom the igniter won’t light up right away like when new but I shut it down and restart it and it works. I think that it may be the battery but everything is great besides that.

How about modifying the water line with a diversion valve and a return line? I'm looking at this for my truck (semi) and I kind of need to preserve my water supply. I'm thinking it runs back into my water tank when I soap up or waiting for it to heat. Then use what I need. Seems like a simple modufication and the unit would have constant water flowing over the heating unit.

Its too bad Coleman changed the design. I have the original HWOD, had it for probably more than 10 years and still works amazing. The original started both the pump and the propane at the same time whe you turned the dial. Easy on, easy off. Only thing I've had to change has been the battery, but have probably used it for 100 showers and plenty of dishes etc. Maybe Coleman will improve it again, 1st gen rocked and I still use it steady at my camp.
Still enjoying the progress and thanks for the effort in making all the videos!

Most campers have plug-in electrical service, so limited battery capacity is easily remedied. I use my solar-powered Jackery portable power supply. Alternatively, your battery life may have been shortened by plugging-in the adapter before the battery was fully discharged. Your concern that the water must first flow before the heater ignites is a safety feature. (It prevents the water tubing from overheating.)
Rough handling of the Coleman water heater may have contributed to your incipient water leak, but that can be can be accommodated readily by savvy campers.
Most campers swear by Coleman’s reputation as a stellar member of the Newall Brands family of consumer products. Campers have entrusted their outdoor experience for generations.
