Hi Lily, Copenhagen here.
Been following you for a few years now and I think there is a whole lot to admire in a fairly young woman which takes on such a demanding operation. Having to get up so early every day and create and deliver what is promised to customers can be a major stress factor in the long run, and it seems to show during the last part of the video.
I know that some micro/mini bakeries here in Denmark have also experienced this challenge and went from being open every day, to open 4 days a week or so. The logic behind this is not to fall in stress, which will than demand a long recovery time in which period the business is closed.
This might not be viable for you, but take a minute to think about this and maybe take on less special orders for some time. You wellbeing is what holds this endeavour alive and it can't exist without it.
Well done so far!!!
thank you so much for your kind message. I'm only open 4 days plus markets for baking but I think it's all the other aspects of video editing/ shooting/ brand partnerships admin of business too!! figuring out how to scale it all back, I really appreciate your insight!
Hi lily, you mignt be exhausted due to the vegan diet, alot of people have problems after time. I dont mean to offend you but lacking in nutrition is probably the reason why your energy is drained?@@LilysLoaf
There are ups and downs with every job. There have been times I loved a job and then a week later hated it only to love it again later. That's life.
You’ve been a huge inspiration to me, Lily! Thank you so much for sharing your dedication with us ❤
Small business (any small business) is 99% pain and stress, and 1^ joy. It's a big 1% though :-) so hang in there. You'll keep smashing it. We're all behind you. Glad your seeds just fall off everywhere as well. I have a Sesame kitchen sometimes.
100%!!
Hi Lily, always so nice to see you....I chuckle to myself when I see your videos, because I do what you do...but you do much more ..no wonder you are tired, try and rest as much as you can, your cakes look delicious ❤❤❤I am 56...and it's really tiring...but I love it
thank you so much. yes that's exactly it!!
Hey lily love ya videos it’s great to see you grow. I hope you don’t mind if I say that burn out and tiredness happens a lot. I was a chef for 27 years I know. All these wonderful things you make require you to be at your best look after you and get some lily time x
thank you Jim! So true, it's so common in the hospitality industry...trying to find ways to create more rest and balance!
Hello Lily,
Hopefully you found some time for yourself to rest.
The baby tinned seedy sourdough bread looks so good! The seeds on the bottom, what a great idea!
I hope you are well and I wish you a nice week.
thank you so much!!
I am only doing weekly market but work full time during the week and am also feeling that extra exhaustion. Some days you just have to spend some extra time in bed and that's okay!
Love you channel Lily i run my own small business oven cleaning and i know how demanding it is you cant really switch off and it does run you down
thank you so much. Yes you feel you can't ever switch off!
Thank you so much for existing Lily! I love seeing your videos they are always so helpful and cheery. I aspire to be like you one day you are truly an inspiration both in terms of business and on a personal level.
You’re doing a great job! It’s natural to feel tired now-and-then.
You can do it!!!!
Great respect for you!!❤❤
Hi Lily! I absolutely love your behind the scenes series! I think a lot of people don't realize how hard it is not just hour/schedule-wise but also working with a lot of different ingredients, appliances, perishables and the climate, health wise having to clean everything after each session. I'm trained as a baker and chocolatier but I chose a different path, partially because of my daughter who is with me all the time, ... I think you will get a new wave of energy when you get your own bakery space! :) Hoping you can keep growing and maybe get someone to join the team so you can divide the workload. Lots of love!
thank you so much for your lovely message! So true... there are so many aspects you have to stay so on top of and on the ball every day!! How lovely that you were a baker and chocolatier too! x
It's easy to get burned out doing repetitive things like baking the same things daily.
I know hiring help is very costly, too. Is there a culinary school near you where you could perhaps find a student who will exchange their time for you teaching them some of the basics of baking?
You could invite them into your shop a few days a week.
This way, you would get added help at no cost and they would gain knowledge of the business. it's a win-win..
keep up the good work but make sure to take some time for yourself! you're doing great sweetie x
I just discovered your channel but I'm so impressed with how much you're able to bake. And as someone that bakes a little and visits a lot of bakeries, it all looks really high quality!
Maybe you ought to think about raising your prices a little to make it a bit easier on your schedule? At the end of the day, quality produce deserves respect as well :)
thank you so much 💕
you should use windsor cake craft for your cake boxes - they are excellent. I'm a professional cake maker and they're the cheapest and best I've found (plus theyre a family biz!)
ooh brilliant shout thank you!!
Stay strong and focused. As your experience continues to grow you will learn how you can place cap on to how many orders at any one time, so that you don’t overload yourself. Then if you wish to do even more orders you might need to apprentice someone so you can do more orders.
🌟
Hi, Lily, I always enjoy watching your videos and catching up on what you're doing. But if you feel overwhelmed or getting stressed, take a break. Maybe take a week off for yourself. You're doing the work of three or four people. So, take it easy
on yourself. All of your followers here, including myself, truly admire everything you're doing. There's no shame in taking
some time out just to chill and relax a bit.
thank you so much for your lovely message, really appreciate your support... off on holiday soon! ☺️
Hi Lilly I hope you get re-energised, sounds like you need a day at the seaside! Is your car and your business affected by the ULEZ?
Thanks for sharing your true self and being honest. I think your videos are so helpful. And I watched your videos on packaging and marketing and I was curious to what size brown paper bags you use for your full size sourdough loaves ? Do you have an affiliate link?
so glad they are helpful to you! Here are the bags: simplelifeco.uk/products/paper-bakery-bags x
Hi Lily, thanks for being so honest about how you're feeling. What you're describing sounds like A LOT and I hope you can find a way to slow down a little bit so you don't crash completely :)
thank you so much x
Love you as always 💜️😘❤️ From Sri lanka 🇱🇰
can i work for you ?
