    I have seen my weight go up by as much as 8 lbs overnight. Its crazy how much it can fluctuate daily so I fully agree you have to look at longer term. Another thing that helped me break through a 6 week stall was to do a couple of 48 hour fasts. That really busted the wall and got me going again.

      Nice! I've had several people just recently talk about the 48 hour fast helping them through a plateau. I'll have to be sure to start mentioning it! (:

    "What should you do if you start to gain weight while intermittent fasting?" Rejoice! I been trying to do that for years!

    For women...don't forget your weight can fluctuate up to 10 lbs. on or around your cycle!! It's that little fact that has helped me through my journey. =) Kayla, I am now trying OMAD, for awhile I have been doing 12-6 eating cycle. I am excited to see my results and eating what I want for dinner. =)

      Exactly. When you give it 6 weeks, it's easy to see those water weight fluctuations for what they are. I hope you have fantastic results with OMAD! Let me know how it goes for you!

      I have gained this week on 5 hour windows and in past gained on omad - it’s all about cals. Just track them and eat 500 under your TDEE you will lose 1lb a week.

    I gained 10lbs. When I checked today I'm down 5lbs. So, just stick with what you were doing and don't give up because the scale went up a few. You keep going when it's going down right? So, why stop when it goes up? That's when you should push harder.

    Thanks. I gained weight and it drove me crazy. I was having a better diet before the intermittent fasting: soups, vegetables, etc. But after I started fasting, I felt like I could eat things I wasn't eating as long as they were not in the fasting period. Now I am going to be very strict.

  • @Mea-ch7vu

    Good for you that you can still lose weight on omad without tracking - I have been gaining. I love sweets and carbs to much apparently. I gain weight if I do not track my calories - it’s super easy for me to eat over 1500 cal with eating whatever I want even in 1 meal. My TDEE is 1500.

      It can take 6-8 weeks of consistent effort on a plan to see results. You should track your 7 day average weight over a period of 6-8 weeks and see how everything is going then. If you need additional help with intermittent fasting, check out Kayla’s course, Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss 101 sixmilestosupper.com/courses or catch up with her live on this channel every Wednesday at 8 PM EST - J.R.

    You are always so encouraging! I had a great victory moment yesterday. About to have my yearly physical. Found a copy of last year’s physical. Weight was 168. Today I weighed 143. I have been beating myself up b/c I can’t seem to break into the 130s (goal is 138), but finding that paper was so encouraging! Kayla, how much money did you raise for the well? I received the sweetest thank you note from Kinship United thanking me for my donation.

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +1

      Margo, that is an awesome victory! It's so easy to forget what progress we've made isn't it? Congratulations! And I hope you decide to stop beating yourself up. I decided to stop a while back, and it's one of the best decisions I ever made. On to the Jezza's well! We've raised $8,811.87, so only $1,188.13 left to go. Since we passed the $8,000 mark, Kinship United was able to start the process of getting the well dug. They wired the funds on Tuesday to Jezza. They're currently getting the water survey and test drill for water done. If you're a praying kind of person, please pray that everything goes smoothly with that. The last little bit of money left to raise is for the pump and the rainwater collection barrels. Thank you so much for donating so generously. You're changing the world! I'm glad you got a thank you note from Kinship United. They're such an awesome organization!

They wired the money yesterday, and now the water study and the test drill for water will be done. That last remaining bit is for the pump and the rainwater collection barrels. I enjoy your successes and watching you. I don't do OMAD but I do intermittant fasting and keto like eating with great success too. But I watch you because your advice/success helps me to maintain. Thank you! What I wonder is how do your kids feel about your eating style. I wonder if they will have memories of mom eating this way and if it will at all influence them either positive or negative down the road. I am 51 and remember my mom's eating style when I was a child. I am curious how this plays out with your kids. And again, I love your positive message and encouragement. You help so many!

      Amy, thanks so much for your kind words! That was a big thing with me, at first. How will my kids perceive this, how to handle all of that. So, I've always been frank with them about why I started eating OMAD in the first place. It's an ongoing conversation that I have with them, and I think they view it positively. They certainly seem to have good boundaries with food and self-regulate pretty well. All of them are at healthy weights for their height, and don't appear to have any negative food habits (like stress eating, etc)

    So I have tried OMAD with what I can call " Crutches" not Cheats!...I figured that the best times to eat for me was supper, if I had breakfast or lunch , I wud be hungy by bed time and have a disturbed sleep.
    So question was how to get till supper?
    I could easily skip breakfast, at noon I had a papaya just one lb papaya and boy did that help my craving and digestion!

    Can someone tell me how quickly you can see results. I have just started so I expect no results right now. But I'm committed to a four month trial period to see if it works for me

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +4

      Penney, I think that if you're being super consistent, and you weigh daily and keep track of your 7 day average, you'll start seeing results in 6 weeks. Just to let you know, during my fastest period of losing weight with this (January 2016-November 2016 when I went from 207 - 157) I lost at an average pace of 1.16 pounds a week.

    during your eating window are you counting calories? are you eating until youre full? is it one meal at a table or is it a window of time where you can eat a bag of chips on the couch? i am interested in what your OMAD eating window looks like. I have been watching your videos for a couple months and started the 16:8 plus 6 miles a day walking and I have had great success! I am curious about OMAD and wonder what exactly your eating window looks like.

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +2

      I'm so glad to hear you're having success. I just eat until I'm full. I don't count calories. I sit at the table, eat my meal, and then stand up and start fasting again.

    I have been doing OMAD and to day I tried fasting for 36 hours straight with just tea and water. And I actually feel kinda bloated, and I gained more than 1lb at the end. Can anyone tell me what's happening to my body? I didn't eat anything and I gained weight :(

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +2

      Track your 7 day average weight over time. A normal human body's weight fluctuates 5-10 pounds. Just look at your 7 day average trend over 6-8 weeks of time. (:

    I’m depressed I been eating salads only not the unhealthy salads but healthy salads during my fast and I gained 7 pounds I’m fucking mad and depressed I stuck to the plan

    • @WendyPendy26
      @WendyPendy26 Год назад +3

      Are you eating enough calories? Sad to say if all you're eating is salad your body is going to fight against you. You have to eat looooots of PROTEIN even more than salads. Salads are not that filling. You need to look up and buy sources of good protein and healthy fats and watch the weight come off.
      Don't give up.. just have a different meal plan each day 😊
      Oh and excersise if you're not doing that

    You motivated me to start fasting again I was wondering if you were always on a calorie deficit eating once a day or you don't look at those numbers when it comes to your one meal or do you try to maintain a macro base in that one meal

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +3

      Glad you found it motivating, Carlos. I don't count calories or try to hit any macro combinations. I eat whatever food I want. I do try to have fat, protein and carbs at my meal, just because I've found that I feel full the next day if I get some of everything in. I don't know if I'm in a deficit or not, but I would assume I am since I"m still losing weight, though slowly.

      Hi Dipika! What works for me is to just keep focusing on consistency, and not being in a rush. I weigh myself every day, keep track of my 7 day average, and basically wait for the scale to catch up to my efforts. If you're very close to a normal weight, it's very common for the rate of weight loss to be a lot slower. My best advice is just patience and consistency. (:

    Hi dear
    Because i just start i told u
    Today is my second day
    I have a question
    M little confused
    You said u eat what u want and as much u want in your diet and 6 days
    Then u said your cheat day on Sunday
    So basically what is the deffrence between cheat days or 6 days meals?

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +4

      Monday through Saturday I eat whatever I want and however much I want, but ONLY at ONE MEAL (supper). I don't eat during the other times of those days. Cheat day (Sunday) I eat whatever I want and however much I want at any time of day. Does that clear it up?
