- THIS is why you can't seem to lose weight even while fasting!
Have you jumped on the intermittent fasting trend or started to skip meals but still haven’t seen results? If you can relate to this, don’t worry because there are thousands of others out there just like YOU. That’s because 50% of normal people are metabolically inflexible, meaning they can’t make a switch to burning free fatty acids - thus, decreasing the chances of weight loss. So you may be wondering how you can fix this, well Dr. Gundry is here to help you finally lose weight for good. Stay tuned because in this episode he reveals how you can flip this switch to lose fat faster than ever before.

Thanks Dr. Gundry!
100% correct DR and people need to listen to this because I've done so much research on fasting and this is all correct to the letter.
Why should we take your word for it?
@@zelmoziggy No take the word of the research done.
@@deusvlad2.083 Why should we take your word that you did any research whatsoever? I, on the other hand, have several degrees in nutrition science and have done decades of research on insulin resistance.
@@zelmoziggy Duh do the research then you can rest assured that I did the research too and it's correct what Gundry says, and so did DR Berg, Dr Mike, DR Ekberg and DR Gundry all say the same thing lol
Your degrees are outdated, school and uni teach you old methods that are false. Albert Einstein never got a degree but his brain is a million years ahead of anyone with a degree.
@zelmoziggy No one in your family, including you, can achieve what Dr Grundy has achieved in his lifetime! So go and sit down with your haughty empty vessel self!
Hi, Dr. Gundry. I have a question unrelated to weight loss. Can you, on some future video or podcast, address the question of what effect a colonoscopy, and especially the colonoscopy prep, have on the gut? And, if a colonoscopy might be detrimental to the gut's microbiome, what's the best way to restore the microbiome afterwards and how long is it likely to take?
A good question.
Eat foods high in probiotics.
Yes, yes, yes, great question!! I am avoiding it due to the "nasty prep chemicals" you have to take the day before. Seems like just a 24 hour fast would be enough prep without the nasty drugs and sugar gatorade they want you to drink? I don't do any sugar and would never drink that garbage. I hope he answers!!
If I were to venture a guess, something similar to the plant paradox 3 stage gut rebuild would probably be a good choice.
I think I keep a lot of insulin around even when I eat low carb or skip meals. I think I somehow tolerate the hungry state for a long time and never get to fat burning.
You are Genius Dr. Gundry. Thank you so much ❤
thanks sharing this Dr. Gundry, I still finding out why I have high blood sugar? 😥
much better answer would've been getting continuous glucose monitor and monitor your sugar intake and eliminate the foods causing insulin spikes
No. CGM’s are VERY EXPENSIVE. And every 10 days you have to change the Sensor. The Sensors are also VERY expensive. And your doctor must prescribe.
Yup, CGM is expensive in my city too. I don't think it should be prescribed though. The cost for 1 month usage of CGM is equal with the minimum wage set by the government😔
@@celeste-236stelo makes a cgm non prescription and $85 per month
Great video. But my question is how much MTC oil should I take daily? Know I am following your advice to the letter. Thank you so much for your wisdom.
Did you get a response? I want to know too.
@@cactusladysouth1000 No. Not yet.
Dr explained thoroughly.
Hi Dr Gundry! Is Palm oil good for the body?
Thanks Dr. Gundry! 🙏
My diet is Paleo.
My F/F is 22/2.
What about coconut aminos?
Coconut aminos are on his approved list! Just make sure there are no additives that aren’t approved in the brand you pick!!

TLDR:
To become Metabolically flexible
- C8 MCT oil (get your body burning ketones)
- Strength training esp But and thights (70% of your muscles)
- Hot therapy/Cold Therapy
- Polyphenols
Did I miss anything????
Thank you!!!!

Questions: Does an insulin test show you it's too high so you know that it's the problem? How long doing intermittent fasting before you start to see results? How much protein should I eat? Right now I use 1 tbsp of MCT oil in my diet... should it be more? How much strength training should I do? I ask because I've been eating clean whole foods and my weight just goes up and down within the same pound, and it's very frustrating. I feel stuck and not sure what to do... I'll try the things you mentioned and I'm reading Unlocking The Keto Code.
How about an interview with Dr Jason Fung
What MCT powder do you recommend?

What impact does the chemicals in the air, soil & food have on our metabolism, weight & gut? Rarely discussed or considered. Even cooking from scratch.
I don't care for meat, but do eat white fish. Allergic to eggs also. Perhaps you can address this in the future.
Toxins in air, water, and food are uniformly bad for our metabolism, and therefore bad for weight and gut health. Unfortunately, those toxins are difficult to avoid. Water filtration to remove chloramines, fluorides, etc., are a good start. Getting outdoors is helpful (indoor air is often worse because of outgassing from plastics), unless you live in a big city. The only way to avoid glyphosate -- which is contaminating more and more soil -- is to stop eating anything they spray it on: wheat, corn, soy...pretty much all grains. Cooking from scratch is always best because you won't be adding additional artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, etc. But unless you can afford grass-fed, grass finished beef, pasture raised chickens, etc., you're still stuck with less than perfect meats. Every little bit helps.
Dr. Gundry addresses all those issues in his podcasts, & for years he has been talking about why we shouldn’t be using glyphosate. The latest podcast with Dave Aspry discusses the damage that glyphosate does to our gut as well as to our soil.
I have a question. During Intermittent Fasting can brain get glucose and survive by gluconeogenesis process?
You never ever need to get glucose (sugar) to feed your brain. There is glucose in everything (vegetables & fruits). Even if there is no sugar stock in body, our body and brain can transform fat stock into brain fuel through a very complex process and survives. I never ever eat sugar or any type of sugar for decades, not because I am following a diet or something but I just don’t like the taste of any kind of sugary things. (Except a small piece of dark chocolate once in a five-six months maybe).
@@ArtemisofEphes Gluconeogenesis is a metabolic process that occurs in the liver and kidneys to produce glucose, particularly to meet the body's needs between meals. Gluconeogenesis - the synthesis of glucose from non-glucose sources - becomes important during starvation by making glucose available to those tissues, including the brain.
Hello dr g does organic coconut milk in my coffee in the morning break my fast? Thank u so much been following you for a long time.
Well 1 tablespoon (15g) of coconut milk provides around 0.3g protein and 0.4g carbohydrates. Ergo, it won’t break ketosis, but obviously it will break a fast, as a fast, by definition, is abstinence from everything bar water 😉
Dr. G! I am recovering from H. Pylori infection. I had to take two weeks of antibiotics and acid reducers because this bacterium thrives in acid. Can you please tell us or do a video where you inform us on how to rebuild our microbiome after this kind of treatment since i basically killed everything off with antibiotics??
If you go on his website, under supplements, he has three that specifically help the gut. Total Restore is one, 24 Strain Probiotics is another,
and the third is BioComplete 3.
i had that too. Take Probiotic pills. Eat fermented foods, Yorgut, Kefir, Sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha. Eat fiber rich foods to feed the probiotics, like fruits, vegetables, whole grains legumes, nuts. Reduce Stress. Drink a lot of water. Limit processed foods and sugar.
So intermittent fasting is not good if you're metabolically flexible?
Yay the ‘cool’ doctor!
How can I know whether I 'm metabolically flexible or not?
😮
You should research something called bonon it's benefits
Insulin resistance also occurs within the fat cells themselves thereby making it equally difficult to store fat! What still makes you store fat is the additional action of ASP even in the absence of insulin. Nuts are actually high in calories and could stall your weight loss especially when you're not tracking your calories. To lose weight, just get into a calorie deficit and forget all this BS!!
Boron!!!!!!!!
Doesn't MCT oils break a fast?
For most, no.
MCT oil breaks a fast, but it doesn't break ketosis. Fasting is for more than weight loss.
@@enonknives5449no, MCT oil does NOT break a fast.
@@celeste-236 A fast is the time when your body doesn't receive nutrients. MCT provides nutrients, it just doesn't raise blood sugar levels.
You really didn't give a good answer MCT oil won't cut it

I fasted 36 days in the row it was Ramadan dry fast each day for 23 hours
No. Actually you are wrong. In Ramadan Muslim don't fast 23 hours every day. Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset every day, anywhere from 12 to 18 hours, depending on where in the world you are.
That’s true but I was fasting from sunset to sunset I was not taking my suhur by choice

i am just wondering whether you talk so slowly, u do not sound normal. pls do not talk so fast, but not so slow.
😀
I appreciate his slow talking, you see there are not only native Engish speaking ppl wanting to profit from his knowledge, so please bear with us. I am very happy that I found someone who is not rushing as dr Hyman, for instance. I find him very tiring.
