    Intermittent fasting is much easier to start after a few days of low carb and sugar on your existing food schedule.

    Hi Dr Gundry, thank you so much for transforming my life for the better! Iv have chronic psoriasis and I am adopting the plant paradox diet however could you please tell me approximately how long it takes your patients to be psoriasis free or have better improved skin. Iv cut lectins out almost completely and have also purchased your lectin shield for added protection. Thanks again Dr G! 👍🛡️😊

    Thank you for all your tips. I tried intermittent fasting when I tried keto. Long story, but the lack of gallbladder has been ongoing issue. I found I could not fast. So I tried slowly like you suggested. I've had to make some adjustments. One thing I found out the first time ..I HAVE to keep taking the Pepcid. But when I take it twice I don't get pain and so far I've been able to keep going. I'm on month two and it is better then the first time. (I ended up in ER back then and the doctor there told me to quit trying to get off the Pepcid). I tried vinegar that didn't help either. I drink my electrolytes to help me get to my 11-7p window.

    Please Dr. GUNDRY, can you do a podcast about Hashimoto's suffers and how to help us loose our extra weight especially when the small portion of thyroid gland remains, and it keeps refuses to use the medication to the extreme that drs reduce the eltroxin because it becomes toxic to the body. I have been overweight for 20 years desperately trying to loose weight.

    61 yy here, no meds whatsoever and I am on OMAD for some 10 years. Only after some 18 to 20 hours without eating I start getting some hunger...!!!

      Your body is getting into a routine where it’s expecting food around that time since you have been doing omad

    Imagine if schools had a compulsory Health class that was just as important as Maths Science or Biology.
    In the future our health problems will cost billions so why not learn how to take care of ourselves at school.

    Dr Gundry, I just got my order of pro plant complete chocolate shake and it came with an insert warning me of chemicals including arsenic that this product can expose me to. I’m not so excited to take it now.

    The switch to intermittent fasting should be gradual and not just: lets try to do intermittent fasting and worst of it would be having high carbs and sugar meals when you're not fasting, because you will fk up insulin's decrease.
    First start cutting sugars on the meals. After 2 weeks you start cutting snacks. After another 2 weeks stop eating at evening. Have breakfast, lunch.
    Loads of fiber on the last meal so you can last for the next day without eating.

      Sounds like a good idea especially if you haven't already done away with those foods. I think a large part of people have already been trying to eat healthy so going PP AND easing into intermittent fasting, AS DR G. RECOMMENDS, will work just fine for most people.
      For others truly just beginning, your idea would likely make the transition to a healthier lifestyle much less painful. 🙂

    I directly jump into deep intermittent fasting and not feel difficult. I am just afraid of if getting thinner, as I am too thin vegetarian.

    I found this easy to adapt too and for 1st time, 57 yrs old, the weight dropping and I'm rarely ever hungry... cut all processed foods and carbs..... only thing I'm struggling with is.... seems my sleep is all off after 3 months if I
    OMAD. HMMMM

      My sister is a type 1 brittle diabetic and has been able to fast on a regular basis. Sometimes 17-20 hours sometimes up to 72 hours. She has never felt better. It can be done. Best wishes to you on your journey 🙏

      Hope Griffin I totally understand your problem as it's been my problem for many years. I was diagnosed with diabetes in Jan 2022 it was a huge shock. I started doing intermittent fasting under Doctors supervision and a low carb diet with not more than 20 carbs per day. I lost 10kgs between 14th Jan to 11Feb.
      I'm not saying you must do the same just try the 20carbs as I do not get hungry anymore keeping to low carb. For weight loss I use 15 carbs.
      I live in South Africa and have joined a diabetic group that helps me as to what to eat and what to avoid. I find Dr Grundy's info very, very helpful.
      Hope this helps you get rid of that hunger I never thought I would ever get rid of mine and never thought I would lose weight. Down 25kgs now.
      Be encouraged and keep trying until you find what works for you.

    I can easily skip breakfast until noon. My challenge is nighttime. At 8pm, 9-10pm I'm so hungry!

    I do the MCT oil and coffee every day or bullet proof coffee it tastes terrible but it works and a pretty strict carnvior diet but I like my vegatable soupos and occasionally go off the reservation but get right back on my diegt cuz kits gonna be a life time thing and fasting is easy for me as my first fasts were spiritual fasts over 20 years ago and ?God even told me to lie a fastie lifestyle but I didcnt understand it like I do now so my intermutent fasting is a daily thing n with the bullet proof coffee as a hack it is very easy to stay on it. Im gu4ssinmg I am very faqt adaptive I miss meals all the time now without even thinking about it. My A1C is almost normal and ve lost some weight and I hardly exercise at all. Necause for a long time I couldnt exercise diabetic feet problems. Even that has turned around get trid of the diabetes and things start working again n start weight training and build muscle. Im actually amazed at my progress I know where I started I was in a bad position pnysically aqd physiologically. Id get ther gundry gut bacteria formiula for 6 months they killed my gut with tons of antibiotics.. So its been a long journey back to better health this didnt happen overnight.

    I have been Intermittent fasting, my last meal is usually anywhere between 8pm and 9 pm and my first meal is anywhere from noon till 2pm. Sometimes I do an OMAD. I break my fast with a protein drink before having anything else. I do have caffeine in the am with some MCT oil and I have No alcohol whatsoever. I just can't lose anymore weight. I don't o ow what else to do! I do have a hard time on the weekends with family meals. Please any advice!!!

    Hi Dr. Gundry....I have been doing Intermittent fasting per your books with my wife for the last 6-7 months. We eat only from 2 PM to 7 PM everyday. I lost about 30-35 lbs and I am now pretty skinny((175 lbs @ 6' 5")but I suffer from fatigue at about 11 am that sometimes continues for the rest of the day until I wake up the next day. If I wake up with an energy level of 7, by 11 AM I am at 5 1/2 and I stay between 4 1/2 and 6 for the rest of the day. Even after eating a meal at 2 PM that might include some toast, I still dont get energy improvement. Since I have been doing this process for 6 months do you still think it would help to stagger the eating start times as you suggested? My fasting Insulin from a 9/8 test was 10.60 uIU/ml.       PS...wife doing great...no energy issues and significant weight loss...she looks great!! We are both approaching 70 and we completed two 6 day high elevation 25 mile backpacks this summer....no meal in the AM gives more time on the trail!!

    In another video, you mention that MCT oil (C8) (after processing in the liver) produce Ketones to trigger mitochondria to switch to division and heat production; so, my question is: can we take a teaspoon of MCT oil with our two I.M. meals to help lessen some calories going to fat storage?

    Extending breakfast one hour a week doesn't work very well when you have a job where you don't have the option of stopping in the middle of the morning to eat. What can those people do?

      For a starting point. If you can go 12 hours before breakfast, and then eat lunch and dinner without snacking in between. You are doing better than most.

    Fasting is miserable and even counterproductive until you are fat adapted. Gundry outlines a simple process of gradual narrowing of the eating window to allow relatively painless adaptation. Others, including Fung, have suggested allowing unlimited butter, coconut oil, tallow, suet and other healthy saturated fat outside the normal eating window to facilitate the fat adaptation. Then, once thoroughly fat adapted, one can water-fast at will without hunger, muscle wasting, lethargy, or tanking metabolism.
    It works, and is well worth the patience required to resist shortcut temptations.

      No it does not ... Others will say yes but it barely raises the insulin index. Try substituting it for MCT oil there's nothing wrong with the coconut milk

    I had jumped straight into 16:8, it was tough but i come through. So i thought i was going to spread the good news to all my friends who could quickly put on weight even as they exercise on alternate days and never seem to slim a little. So I told them repeatedly it's worth trying, but guess what? They avoided me whenever i told them take in more good fats i.e. EVOO (which to them is equivalent to raising cholesterol that could impact their cardiovascular functions) and they think my suggestion could make them put on even more weight. So i told them i skipped morning breakfast to play racquet games with them but they said they could faint. Before they started to hate me, i think i better stop telling them.🙃🤣🥱
