TRUE, THESE GUYS PERHAPS WORKED HARDER, BUT THEY WERE BLESSED WITH OUTSTANDING GENES, SAME AS NEWTON, JOHN VON NEUMANN, BEETHOVEN, MICHAEL DA VINCI, ...NO MATTER THE DEVOTION AND WORK ETHIC, IF YOU COME UP SHORT IN TERMS OF GENES, YOU MIGHT BE VERY GOOD, BUT NOT GREAT.
Not only did they sing it beautifully they wrote it beautifully too and recorded it in one take. All profits about 20 million $ to date went to UNICEF. 1978 was a very good year for music.
Now remember back then 1 take and no auto tune. And they just dropped!

They are brothers, started singing together at the age of 9 (Barry, the eldest brother in the middle) and the twins with 6, Maurice and Robin. Their career was over 50 years, writing and singing more than 1000 songs.

Good question. People today just don't sing like they used to. This song was recorded almost 50 years ago and it's just as relevant and fabulous today. Maybe even more so because its so perfect.

The incomparable Brothers Gibb...Barry 1946, twins Robin & Maurice, 1949, England, Australia, and back to England, started performing in 1958, and ended in 2003 with Maurice's death, Robin followed in 2012, Barry is still performing, and has been married to his wife Linda since Sept. 1970. Over 1,000 songs, 100 top 10s, and many written for some of the top voices in 3 different decades. No one but Sir Paul McCartney has written more hit songs than Sir Barry Gibb and his brothers. Enjoy! BTW, you've probably heard 'Stayin' Alive'...everyone on Earth has. That was the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra backing them up. Try 'Nights On Broadway', and 'How Deep Is Your Love' for a sample of their lower voices.
Thisnwas at least 15 years before auto-tune, ehich makes it all the more amazing.
They are amazingly talented brothers and I think the closest anyone has come to Berry’s incredible voice is Michael Jackson.
