Started singing when they were only 6 & 9 (Barry was 3 years older than the twins). Their harmonies were natural and they were well before "auto tune". They always took pride in their songs sounding better live than on their records (or at least as good as the record)! Their voices were high but they had amazing ranges. They wrote over 1000 songs, including hits for lots of other artists. Maurice (pronounced Morris) died in 2003 of a heart attack during surgery for a blocked intestine. Robin died in 2012 from cancer. Barry is still recording at 76. They donated all rights and royalties of this song to Unicef Children's Charities and raised over $10 million.

The Bee Gees knew how to write a song. Especially to a woman! I was 18 when this album came out. Spirits having Flown. This song, Tragedy and Love You Inside and Out were #1 hits in '79. No autotune, just plain talent. They had been singing together since the late 50s. They definitely had their harmonies down. No group like them before or since. Entirely unique. Nice reaction and Barry, in the middle, had the women drooling for him.

Bee Gees are the rabbit hole of all time! They didn't write a bad song...from 1958 until 2003! Try 'How Deep Is Your Love' and 'Alone' amazing!! Then 'Nights On Broadway' for a sample of their lower voices. And I bet you've already heard 'Stayin' Alive' and didn't realize it was them!
Barry’s is the only falsetto that I have ever enjoyed and, IMO, the best, ever. 😊

During the mid to late 70's, the Bee Gees used a falsetto in their singing. Before the mid 70's and after the late 80's, they mostly used there normal singing voices, which of course were a bit deeper. Check out Lonely Days from the early 70's for example. Enjoy!

Oh it's real. They are singing in falsetto, it's a method of voice production used by male singers, especially tenors, to sing notes higher than their normal range. They sing some of their songs in falsetto and some in their normal, deeper voices.

Barry is amazing but what is striking here is how good Maurice and Robin are in their harmonies when it is just them. They enter and leave on the same notes and Maurice just adds to the sound. Total audio perfection. I've learned that the way to judge artists is by how they sound when playing live. Real talent sometimes sounds better than a recording; bad talent never does.

The song "Too Much Heaven" is from the Bee Gee's live performance at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $13 Million for UNICEF thus far.
I've loved the BGs from the beginning. What tears at my heart and soul is the sad fact that Barry's all that's left. There will never be any equal to them

I'm glad I grew up in the 70s, such great music. They had a younger brother Andy GIbb who was also a successful singing artist.

There's a fourth brother Younger Andy Gibbs. Barry Gibbs is only one left alive. 🌹 listen to staying alive by the Bee gees. 😁

I always compared the Bee Gees to the ingredients of a S'more. Barry, in the middle, was like the rich chocolate everyone loved. Maurice, on the right, was the graham cracker that held them all together. And, my favorite Robin, on the left, was like the innocent marshmallow that made every bite of a S'more all that more sweeter every time you tasted it. Put them all together and you get possibly the most delicious thing in all of creation.

That is their real voice, they're Brothers the one in the middle is Barry the one with the blonde hair is Robin the other one on the other side is Maurice. What you are listening to is just pure talent ! Back in the day there was no such thing as Auto-Tune either you know how to sing or you didn't. Unfortunately the one in the middle is the only one that's left. The other two have left us.
