My husband and I used to Roller Skate to this song and do the couples only and he used to sing this to me... We dated in High School in Anchorage,Alaska. I was 15 and he was 16 at the time... We lost contact for over 32 years and found each other in 2015 and we got married 10 days after I made it back with him... It still feels like when we was in High School...
Recorded in 1978. All the proceeds were donated to UNICEF. It totalled 20 million dollars. The brother's were prolific writers. The brothers had many concurrent top 10 hits. The group started when the boys were 16(Barry), 12(Robin, Maurice) their career spanned 7 decades. The group was commercial one of the most successful ever. Their falsetto's and harmony are perfect, the writing is perfect and their singing is perfect. My high school years were all about the Bee Gee's, Barry, Robin, Maurice and Andy Gibb were everything!!
I just adore your reaction so I just subscribed!! How many seconds into the song before your eyes got so wide I thought they were going to pop out -12 secs or maybe 15 secs --l ol ?!?! I gotta say I miss those times 70's 80's 90's first half of the 2000's -- we had bands and real concerts! BeenGees concert would be so packed there wasn't even standing room but we all squished together and loved every second of it all and when these brothers are singing to you let me tell you the foot the gut stomped on of the rib cage that somebody elbow ran through have you no inkling of pain - nothing .. just you and thousands others besting Barry's voice and twins harmonizing in. Keep up the great job!! Much Gratitude!!!
I've watched a ton of these reaction videos, and I love the looks on people's faces hearing true talent from back in the day. I grew up hearing them in their prime. Rip twins maurice, robin and their bro andy gibb. Barry in the middle still performs and keeps the legend going.
You were absolutely right - from watching other reactors who seemed kinda down or depressed before they listened to this masterpiece, the reaction and the happiness on their faces by the end shows exactly how much they have been uplifted.
Hi welcome to the world of pure sensational vocals, this was released when I was in my prime,I slow danced to this song many times, no auto tune in those days 😊.
Barry, the falsetto on this one, was the eldest by 3 years, Blonde Robin and Maurice were twins. Robin 1/2 hour older. Robin also sang in falsetto occassionally. Though he was usually vibratto tenor. Mo was a baritone/bass. All were expert harmonists.
The general public didn't realize how incredibly talented the Bee Gee's were because much of the music industry downplayed disco music for many decades. Now, what do you think about them? I grew up in the 70's loving the Bee Gee's because I grew up in a family of musicians and singers knowing just how difficult it is to sing at this level. Their harmonies are incredible and I have yet to hear anyone or group with their level or singing ability. Sadly, Barry is the only Bee Gee to still be alive. I play their music almost daily. They are incredible.
The Bee Gees wrote this song and this was their live recording, which they donated the proceeds to UNICEF. So far it has brought in over ten Million dollars and still climbing
Can't go wrong with the Bee Gees, multitalented group made up of 3 Gibb brother's from the late 70's who can actually sing. The youngest brother Andy Gibb, who was amazing solo artist is his own right rounded off the singing brother's. Sadly only one Gibb brother is alive, Andy passed away first then Maurice passed and finally Robin passed away leaving only Barry to carry on. Bee Gees music is timeless and will forever live on for the younger generation to enjoy.
I was a fan of there's in the late 1960's. They were young teens then. There is a television show in Australia where they are little kids as a singing group.
They have been singing 3 part harmony since they were little kids. Barry was 9 and the twins were 6. They have been recording since 1958. This was from the 70’s. Barry is still recording and performing ( the guy in the middle). All his younger brothers have passed. He is in his 70’s now, been married over 50 years, has 5 grown children and 8 grand children. He is also a really nice person. The rights & royalties of this song were gifted to UNICEF for children ( food and medical care. They were the 1st band to ever do something like that up until that time.
the Bee Gee's are one of those groups that went World Wide and I believe impacted the entire music industry. There is no musician anywhere that does not know who they are or pulled out a page from their book in their own career. They were recognised by both the biggest names of those of their own time, as well as those of the generation before them who were astounded in awe by their writing and singing. Everyone paid attention to them everywhere. Still to this day even some of the biggest rock, metal and other genres acknowledge their skill ad impact those that follow in the Bee Gee's own style.
In 1979 the Bee Gees were at the top of the Music business and because of this they convinced several of the times big acts to join with them in a fund raising concert (before we heard of band aid and the likes) including ABBA, Earth Wind and Fire, John Denver, Rod Stewart, Kirs Christoffersen, Andy Gibb, Olivia Newton John, Donna Summer a.o. The concert was called Music for Unicef. A Gift of Song. It was hosted by David Frost. All the artist gave all the royalties of the song they performed to the cause (some only for a limited time) and The Bee Gees tributed with Too Much Heaven. This song went number 1 many places in the world including the US. It has up to know earned more than 10 million dollars for the cause.
Barry Gibb and Micheal Jackson were best friends....Micheal was godfather to Micheal Gibb...Barry son!! BeeGees produced a lot of music...he’s been knighted and working hard in Nashville
No auto tune back then. This is the song you dance to with your woman on beach, under the stars. A night of ole fashion romance. Do they even have that these days.
No formal voice training, couldn't read music, can play instruments by ear only, wrote all of their own songs and scored 6 consecutive #1 singles. All 3 brothers are baritones, but discovered that they could sing falsetto. Barry is the only one who can add vibrato to his falsetto.
I loved your reactions to this song.... Thry will always be one of the greatest! I will forever love them! And Barry back then... Wow..... He was so sexy! But I enjoyed your reaction and I loved your response to it! Thanks for playing it.....💕💕
The BeeGee's (Brothers Gibb)have sang together all their lives.Barry(falsetto, center)is the oldest.Robin(clean shaven)and Maurice ( pronounced Morris)are actually twins. They had another brother Named Andy who sang solo.Andy dies of an overdose many years ago. Then Maurice died of an undiagnosed repairable birth defect.Robin, his twin was checked and had the same intestinal defect. He had it repaired with surgery but contracted cancer which wasn't curable.Barry(the main singer in the song)is the oldest brother and the only one still alive, has been happily married to his wife Linda for 46 years and they have 5 children. They also wrote The Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton hit,Islands in the Stream.
The Bee Gees have been working on their music career since 1958, they were out before the Beatles, and adapted and cranked out hits through the 60's and 70's and before Queen was on the scene. Their music has always been amazing and they changed it up with the times to become iconic. Soundtrack of my lifetime.
the bee gees in my opinion is the best band ever , they have along list of hits K they once had 5 hits in the American top 10 chart , they have an endless list of everlasting songs , please react to ( staying alive ) ( Dimensions ) ( hoe deep is your love ) ( tragedy ) ( for whom the bell tolls ) ( how can you mend a broken heart ) ( someone belonging to someone ) ( one ) ( run to me ) and a long list of everlasting hits .
What a FANTASTIC reaction video!! Bee gees fun fact... what do these 3 massive #1 hit's by the Bee Gees ( Tragedy, Too Much Heaven & Shadow Dancing) all have in common? Not only were they all #1 hits from 1979 but they were all written on the same afternoon! it's crazy when you even think about how talented these 3 brothers were!! The harmonies & Barry's falsetto are second to none! There will never be another group like this again........EVER!
Love The Bee Gees! But then I’m almost 60....except that now...I’ll never EVER be able to listen to them without thinking of reaching the “happy place” Hahahaha! Oh my God! I’m dying here!
Here are some facts about the Bee Gee's: 1.Barry Gibbs is 2 years older than I am. I grew up in this Era called DISCO. 2.Barry was the lead singer and his brother's were mostly backup, but all 3 were GREAT. 3.This was Family Harmony at its best. (Three sounds like one). 4.They were a normal band until they tried something different. 5.It was an accident, they decided to sing "FALSETTO" for fun. 6.The people loved it, and DEMANDED more. 7 This became their unique, signature sound, and trademark that shot them to the top. 8. Barry was the lead singer, Robin and Maurice HARMONIZED ALSO IN FALSETTO. 9.Their unique sound that made them famous. 10 If you listen close you can hear the Falsetto of all 3. 11. It became their standard. The Disco Era was dying at this point. 12. The Bee Gee's Music, breathed new life into the Disco Era. 13, That kept DISCO alive and popular for many more years. 14. The Bee Gee's wrote 1030 songs in their life. 15.They wrote many songs, for other famous artist, who made those songs famous. 16.They broke many long standing records, in their lifetime. 17. They wrote all of their own music. 18. And all 3 played instruments themselves. 19. They would be honored that a new generation is hearing their music. 20. Feel free to check out my facts for yourself.
These 3 are brothers and that genetic commonality allows them to harmonize really well. Family members who can sing are able to harmonize like no one else. This genetic connection makes a huge difference.
Just to make this song and the Bee Gees even more incredible, they donated all the royalties of this song to UNICEF to commemorate "The Year of the Child". So far they have raised $11,000,000.00
They were born in the Isle of Man, England and migrated to Australia in the mid 50s. They grew up in Redcliffe (Morton Bay, Brisbane) and hold the record for the most number one hits as they also wrote hits for other artists like Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Barbra Striesand, Dionne Warwick, Frankie Gallo, and the list goes on. Band worth delving into 😀🇦🇺😀🇦🇺😀🇦🇺
I think you meant Frankie Valli...and dont forget Celine Dion, Yvonne Elliman (If I cant have you), Tavares (More than A Woman) and Samantha Sang (Emotion)
The Brothers Gibb. Barry is the one in the middle and is the oldest by three years. The men on either side of him are Robin Gibb and Maurice, fraternal twins. Not there is a youngest brother, Andy, who performed once with them "You Should Be Dancing" LIVE. It includes clips of John Travolta dancing, disco dancing. These guys are one ot the two or three top groups of all time. So many hits. They would be like Queen for you, down another fantastic rabbit hole. Their real life story could be made into a movie as well.
The Bee Gees were a music group formed in 1958, featuring brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid-to-late 1970s. The group sang recognizable three-part tight harmonies; Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid-to-late 1970s and 1980s. The Bee Gees wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists. Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Charlton, Manchester, England until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, and then to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart success in Australia as the Bee Gees with "Spicks and Specks" (their 12th single), they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stig wood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year. The Bee Gees have sold over 120 million records worldwide (with estimates as high as over 220 million), making them among the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997; the presenter of the award to "Britain's first family of harmony" was Brian Wilson, historical leader of the Beach Boys, another "family act" featuring three harmonizing brothers. The Bee Gees' Hall of Fame citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, have outsold the Bee Gees." The Bee Gees are the third most successful band in the world.😍😍
I am so crazy about you with your sharp sense of humor. Pizza with extra cheese, burgers, hot dogs, family in the back yard. I love your your interpretations of the vocal adult debauchery of the BeeGees. Like all renaissance poetry, the orgasm is both spiritual and physical. And I'm so happy that this is the channel of Love. The BeeGees said it, more or less, "We are starving for some heaven and some love." And that's true. We are.
Love is such a beautiful thing. Just the right thing for your channel. I enjoy your channel. I love Bee Gees, Queen, and most of all...Dimash. Thanks for your reactions, Faith. Hi from New Zealand 🇳🇿💙
Maurice is lead singer and I think wrote this song. The song is very unique and has a sexy vibe to it. I think it's a hidden gem. My heart breaks for the passing of Maurice too many songs he must have taken with him, thankful for the music her left us with, God bless him
@OffTapLife Whatever happened to you doing more Bee Gees reactions? They are brothers (The Brothers Gibb). Barry (in the middle, is the oldest. And yes, I had a crush on him back in the day). The other two (Robin & Maurice) are fraternal twins. They had a younger brother (Andy Gibb) who had a great solo career. He was too young to join his older brothers at that time. The Bee Gees were big in the Black Community back in the day. Please react to more! Here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: Too Much Heaven (R&B) Went to #1 YOU REACTED TO THIS ONE. How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard), went to #1 Staying Alive (disco), went to #1 Night Fever (disco), went to #1 You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco), went to #1 Fanny be tender with my love (R&B). Quincy Jones said this was his favorite R&B song. It’s a favorite of mine too. Jive Talking (R&B), went to #1 Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk)..you’ll hear the brothers “natural” voices in this song. Tragedy (Techno? Pop) It also went #1 More than a woman (Disco/R&B) One of the best love songs ever made! Love you inside out (Funk/pop), went to #1 To love somebody (R&B) One of their earlier hits, from 1967!!! You’ll see how young they were. Massachusetts (pop/country), went to #1 Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special or live from their 1979 Spirits tour. They sing in their natural voices on this song. Alone (pop): One of the songs they made late in their career. Love So Right (R&B), One of Barry’s best falsetto songs ever. Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour). Barry pours his heart out on this song and they show his wife & son on screen some while he was performing it. Lonely Days (pop). One of the first songs they wrote after they got back together when they briefly broke up in 1969 then got back together in 1970 to write this. You Win Again (pop), If you want to hear some 80’s Bee Gees, this is a good one. Went #1 in the UK Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B). The other song they wrote when they first got back together after a brief breakup. It was also their first #1 in the US Kiss of Life (rock). Shows a diverse side of them. One (pop), their last top 10 hit in the US Wedding Day (pop), a single they wrote for their wives! All of them had been married for a while. Barry is will married to this day to Linda for over 53 years! Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country). Shows diversity! Bodyguard (R&B), Robb really shines on this song that could have been played on any R&B radio station! For Whom the Bell Tolls (pop), again, Robin shines on this one. Blue Island - live (pop). This song shows the perfect blend & harmony the brothers have. Especially if you do the acoustic one. Just the 3 of them with 2 guitars! Our Love, Don't Throw it all away-Bee Gee's or Andy's version (pop). After their brother Andy passed, they started performing this during shows in honor of him. Secret Love (pop). I love the best to this song! Barry & Robin leads. This is Where I Came in (live) (pop). From the very last CD they ever released. There is a live version out there from a tv show. That's a great one to see how they have evolved into the 2000's! The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor). This is a little long (over 12 min), but they go through about 7-9 songs in this medley with just the 3 of them around 1 mic either Barry in the guitar.
They started singing and recording their own songs in 1958.....number one hits go back to the 60's....their Disco hits started in the 70's. their first album is called Bee Gees 1st recorded in 1967.
You’re such an awesome person. Down to earth and real. love that you rock with everything I rock with...all music, genres, eras. Just joined the Fam...can’t wait til the next one drops! ✌🏼 ❤️ 🙏🏼
Some people believe it was the tight pants Barry wore (15:19) that were the real reason for those high pitched squeals.. Seriously though, another fun review; thanks Faith. I haven't been around here so much lately but I have to say I LOVE the new set-up - it's all looking very colourful and interesting, and the presentation of the reactions is the BEST ON RUclips!!! I particularly like the way you switch cameras when the video comes on so we get to see it nice and big and clear AND - most importantly of course - see you, the Star of the Show!
God bless you young lady for displaying our American flag. It certifies my 20 year service in the submarine force. I at least secured one beautiful human being's choice of freedom and individualism....
It's in my top 20 of all time. Along with the group: *"Champagne" singing the song *"How bout us" If you have not reacted to "how bout us" Can you do it for a friend in Denver... smiling Thank you ma'am Charles
One of the best groups of all time. Try 'How Do You Mend a Broken Heart' and 'You Win Again'. Cannot understand the thumbs down. Do these people not like great song writers and fantastic singing.
No one harmonise like the 3 brothers. There's many greats, but to me they are the greatest of harmonizers. And they write all their own songs.
I just adore your reaction so I just subscribed!! How many seconds into the song before your eyes got so wide I thought they were going to pop out -12 secs or maybe 15 secs --l ol ?!?!

Keep up the great job!!

They have written over 1000 songs! And they weren’t just for them the wrote for many other artists!
Crazy how when I was a teenager I always thought Bee Gees were corny.. But I listen to it now and I'm like damn, that shit fire!
Hi welcome to the world of pure sensational vocals, this was released when I was in my prime,I slow danced to this song many times, no auto tune in those days 😊.
There song gives you hope. Their energy level Yes, high and it brings you up to them. They accomplished what they were meant to do. Nothing better.
This is my favorite Bee Gees song. Their harmonising was out of this world! Thank you Meemer and Faith! ❤❤❤
Their harmonies are def out of this world!! Wishing you all the best!!

They sound exactly the same in concert.
"I can see beyond forever everything we are will never die" The Bee Gees are legends. Pure Magic.

No vocal training, no music traing, just talent !
This is more than a cookout song.. it's a wedding song

They did the music for the movie Staying Alive. This was the first time we heard their falsetto
They did this to avoid having to scream in the song
Saturday Night Fever came out before Staying Alive.
Thank you for the beegees. Beautiful xx

These 3 are brothers and that genetic commonality allows them to harmonize really well. Family members who can sing are able to harmonize like no one else. This genetic connection makes a huge difference.
a level of vocal talent few ever accomplish .
... goosebumps every time i listen this song
Band worth delving into 😀🇦🇺😀🇦🇺😀🇦🇺
Hey thanks Katrina for the back info I appreciate it!! Wishing you all the best!
But moved back to the U.K. in the late 60’s when their career started and were U.K. based ever since.
The Bee Gees' Hall of Fame citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, have outsold the Bee Gees." The Bee Gees are the third most successful band in the world.😍😍
Live and no auto tune!!! They were great!!!!!!!!
We are.
Bee Gees stands for the Brothers Gibb
Hey Laura thanks for the info all the best to you!!
Go on Facebook for bee gees original
That's right I remember when they were called The Brothers Gibb.
Love is such a beautiful thing. Just the right thing for your channel. I enjoy your channel. I love Bee Gees, Queen, and most of all...Dimash. Thanks for your reactions, Faith. Hi from New Zealand 🇳🇿💙
Hey Joyce!! Thank you for the lovely comment and support!! Much love to you and New Zealand!!
Closer Than Close is an incredible song by the Bee Gees in the 90's!
Maurice is lead singer and I think wrote this song. The song is very unique and has a sexy vibe to it. I think it's a hidden gem.
My heart breaks for the passing of Maurice too many songs he must have taken with him, thankful for the music her left us with, God bless him
that look that you had on your face when they started singing That's the look that everybody has the first time that they hear them.
THIS is the first video I've seen from you . Instant subscriber. I love that you have the FLAG behind you!
Welcome to the "BEE GEES".
"They're not playing with you, they're bringin' it to you". Well said.
Check out the early BeeGees, from the 60's, pre disco era. Beautiful songs
Hey Karen thanks for the suggestion!! Hope all is good!!
You're so funny and beautiful!! Loved your reaction!!You've got my subscription much love baby!!
12:47 Damn that was pretty spot on girl can sing :)
Hey thanks for the compliment much love!! :-)
@OffTapLife
Whatever happened to you doing more Bee Gees reactions?
They are brothers (The Brothers Gibb). Barry (in the middle, is the oldest. And yes, I had a crush on him back in the day). The other two (Robin & Maurice) are fraternal twins. They had a younger brother (Andy Gibb) who had a great solo career. He was too young to join his older brothers at that time. The Bee Gees were big in the Black Community back in the day. Please react to more!
Here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under:
Too Much Heaven (R&B) Went to #1 YOU REACTED TO THIS ONE.
How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard), went to #1
Staying Alive (disco), went to #1
Night Fever (disco), went to #1
You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco), went to #1
Fanny be tender with my love (R&B). Quincy Jones said this was his favorite R&B song. It’s a favorite of mine too.
Jive Talking (R&B), went to #1
Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk)..you’ll hear the brothers “natural” voices in this song.
Tragedy (Techno? Pop) It also went #1
More than a woman (Disco/R&B) One of the best love songs ever made!
Love you inside out (Funk/pop), went to #1
To love somebody (R&B) One of their earlier hits, from 1967!!! You’ll see how young they were.
Massachusetts (pop/country), went to #1
Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special or live from their 1979 Spirits tour.
Went #1 in the UK
Run to Me (pop)
How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B). The other song they wrote when they first got back together after a brief breakup. It was also their first #1 in the US
Kiss of Life (rock). Shows a diverse side of them.
One (pop), their last top 10 hit in the US
Wedding Day (pop), a single they wrote for their wives!
Greatest voices of all time period.
well done!
The whole Saturday Night Fever soundtrack is dope
but thi sis not from SNF album. This is from their Spirits Havin' Flown album.....released after SNF.

Hey PaperCup!! Thank you for the love!! Hope all has been well with you and that you are staying safe!! Much love to you!!
God bless you young lady for displaying our American flag. It certifies my 20 year service in the submarine force. I at least secured one beautiful human being's choice of freedom and individualism....
What’s more amazing, unlike today, these guys had no auto tuners....daaammmnn!!! Real artists and entertainers.
It's in my top 20 of all time.
Along with the group:
*"Champagne"
singing the song
*"How bout us"
If you have not reacted to "how bout us"
Can you do it for a friend in Denver... smiling
Thank you ma'am
Charles
Ya know, its funny you touched on that. That one point in the song when Barry hits those high notes, I thought the same thing. 👍
One of the best groups of all time. Try 'How Do You Mend a Broken Heart' and 'You Win Again'. Cannot understand the thumbs down. Do these people not like great song writers and fantastic singing.
Very good!! React For whom the bell tolls live Bee Gees..
