Im 71 and have listened to 6 different reactions to this song in the past 2 days and many more times in previous months. I still get chills each and every time. Most all their songs do that to me and the wife. Can you imagine how many times we've heard their songs and still........ . Never, ever be another Bee Gees just lije never another Elvis. The decades of impact will not be encroached by any one.

I have looked at lots of reactions to this song too. Isn't it fantastic how chilled out and genuinely happy the people are listening and looking at the videos.
Thankfully I grew up listening to these songs and slow danced to many of them too.
      Music for the soul.

What I get outta this reaction is this…
So, I’m Momma and I jammed off of this song when it first came out and till this day, I’m still appreciating this classical masterpiece..
    I’m gonna tell you why..
My children heard me playing this song as they were growing up, Then
They listened to it while they were raising their children…
Now it brings me pure joy, hearing my children and grandchildren jamming off of this music like it’s a normal thing to them lol..
    Freaking Amazing
    No Curse Words
    No Sexual Overtones
    Just pure magical
    Harmonies and Lyrics
That generation after generation can enjoy and relate to..

THIS REACTION HAS MADE ME SMILE FROM EAR TO EAR. So good that you have fallen in love with the brothers Gibb. Guys in the seventies used to joke that they must be gay or their trousers were to tight which is why they sang like that. They couldnt accept that these guys were hot in every way and their wives and girlfriends were going ga ga for them.

There were 5 Gibb children: Lesley (older sister), Barry, Robin & Maurice/pronounced 'Morris'/(twins), & Andy. All had excellent voices. Fun fact: In the 60's, Lesley filled in for Robin during a live gig; but, she preferred a calmer life. Leslie (Australia) & Barry (Florida) are the only surviving children...the others dying in reverse-age order (Andy, then Mo, & then Robin). Upon Mo's tragic death, they lost their musical/harmonic genius & the BeeGees were no more... preferring to honor the body of work created by the three of them, together.

I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This would have been in our wedding.
Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris)
Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure.
Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. He left behind his wife, Yvonne and two children. Robin left behind his wife, Dwina and 4 children. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins.
Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. Barry stated that Andy lived the 'LA lifestyle' involving drugs, and he had heart problems. Andy left behind a daughter. The brothers wrote all of his songs.
Barry stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2023, he and his wife Linda will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.)
On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who turned 78 January 12, 2023. Maurice passed on the same day as her 58th birthday. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing.
At about the age of 2, Barry reached on the table and a pot of hot tea fell on his chest and arms. You can see the shine on his chest. His mom said he almost died, and he did not talk for almost 2 yrs. Skin grafts were not used in the 40s, so he was in the hospital for a long time.
They wrote all of their songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! I recommend the following songs:
How Deep Is your Love? ruclips.net/video/XpqqjU7u5Yc/видео.html
    Closer Than Close ruclips.net/video/m6XIdjEHLRs/видео.html
    One ruclips.net/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/видео.html
    You Win Again ruclips.net/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/видео.html
    Spirits (Having Flown) ruclips.net/video/ONmVEJnxysc/видео.html
    Bodyguard ruclips.net/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/видео.html
Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) ruclips.net/video/b_wTZjo9azk/видео.html (Destiny Child's was a cover. Nice harmony, but crazy video. Who pours bleach on someone's clothes?) Barry said he liked it. Can we say, "Royalties."
At one time, 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them, for others, were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2!
December 2023, Barry Gibb and 4 other entertainers (Queen Latifah being one) will be recognized for their contribution to the entertainment industry. Kennedy Center Honors. I'm sure this will be a very emotional time for Barry Gibb.
As children, Robin liked to set fires. The constables - (police) asked his parents to move or their sons would be put in reform school. Barry was a ladies' man. He kept rings for different girls. Maurice was quiet. He liked photography.

The BeeGee's have been around since the 60's, when Morris had a hit with "I Started A Joke" 1968. Sadly The twins Morris & Robin have passed away, so there's only Barry (whose 76yo) left. But all the hits they've had will always be around for us to listen to. They also wrote many hits for other artists. They really are/were very talented.

    Thanks for your reaction.
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988, more about him later.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born.
All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ruclips.net/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/видео.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ruclips.net/video/CA4CInDnTk8/видео.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ruclips.net/video/162GlAEpfrY/видео.html.
I don't know how much you two differ in age, but Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on ruclips.net/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/видео.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing ruclips.net/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/видео.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

Bee Gees had a little brother named Andy, who they wrote songs for, and were at a recording studio across town, recorded a song with there with their young brother Andy, and they drove to this studio, and record it this song on the very first try !

I swear those were the days of glory for this song, ❤❤❤
We poor people only had the radio, antenna TV and buying records, that was it.. we loved those days gone by years.

It is really nice to see you enjoying the older music it makes me smile. I got to hear it when it was new. Not just the BeeGees but Beatles all the Motown and beach surfing songs and so much more. I have enjoyed it all and still do. 50s, 60s, 70s the 80s and 90s I got listen to because of my kids. Now it is from the grandkids who are your age and older. Just keep enjoying all the music.

Man, I love the interaction between you two, the love the older brother has for his younger brother, oh man, and the way the younger brother looked admiringly at his older brother, so beautiful! I have been a fan of the Bee Gees for decades, and I love this song, but what I loved the most in this video is the way you interacted!

I am a 63yr old African American mother/grandmother who just knew that I would marry Barry Gibbs one day. Unfortunately, Barry has been married to his wife Linda for 50 plus years. Damn. Anywho, I am here for the both of you throughout your musical 🎼 journey. God bless 🖤
