This guy's disbelief just shows how the garbage they call music today has totally corrupted young people into thinking they know what real music is. Then, when they are confronted with the genuine article, they can't believe their ears. They have been spoiled by autotune, electronic manipulation, and other crap that isn't real music. Our world is going to hell in a handbasket.

Every generation got something... I bet the old folks really bitched about the electric guitar and all the other electric 'garbage' that followed. lol. It is nice that eventually each gen produces those who look outside their immediate box to discover music from other eras. I congats today's youth.

These 3 brothers have tremendous range. Barry is just using falsetto in this particular song. They are capable of low tones also. So sad this generation has no idea what real music is

This high-pitched way of singing is called "Falsetto" and it's become their trademark in de early seventies. The Bee Gees had six platinum albums before they discovered they could sing like this as well. Not to mention a few number ones as well.
The Bee Gees are brothers. The one on the left is Robin, Barry is in the middle and Maurice is the one on the right side. The Bee Gees are one of the most successful bands that ever existed. They are songwriters first and singers second. So they wrote, sang and co-produced practically their whole catalog. Which contains around 2000 songs. Well over 200 million albums are sold worldwide. Barry is in the too 5 of most successful songwriters. They even outclassed the Beatles in terms of the amount of hits they had. Although the Beatles were really groundbreaking at that time and were a great influence on the Bee Gees.
So, you have heard and seen the power of Barry's Falsetto, but this is just one of the groups strengths. Take Robin on the left, he is an awesome vocalist in his own right. And by the way, he and Maurice are twins. Maurice has a great voice too, but he's the strongest harmonist and a musical mastermind.
After their monster succes in the seventies the Bee Gees got blacklisted from the radio for over a good decade. Admitting you liked the Bee Gees often let to be made fun of. It was not cool to like them anymore, when a radiostation played one of the songs it was always with nasty commend to come along with it. Something they definitely didn't deserve. In that time they amped up their writing game for other artists and were really successful scoring number one hits for Barbara Streisand, Dione Warwick, Kenny Rogers and Diana Ross. They also wrote the theme song for the musical film Grease.
The Bee Gees were super talented and for me, and for evert other Bee Gees fan we are so glad the new generations are getting to know the Bee Gees and their awesome music catalog.
Thank you so much for your reaction. A dive into their vast catalog will reward for sure.

Full orchestra, wrote their own music, recorded live, one mic, one take, perfect sync, no computers or auto tune. Welcome to the 70s bro. Hard work - not an hour in a studio with techno. Their unique falsetto identifies them immediately. And you asked about Barry’s real voice? It’s lower than yours - for real. This is raw talent. Great reaction! You also get to hear Robin's vibrato voice, and Maurice sings the ending background vocals in falsetto.

  • @DUGGER1947
    @DUGGER1947 7 месяцев назад +8

Barry Gibb (middle) has a normal singing range of baritone to lower-tenor. He's obviously singing an "airy" falsetto in this and many of the other songs from this era. A good example of him singing with his natural voice would be the song "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart." His fraternal twin brothers, Robin (long hair on the left) is really the only true tenor range singer without having to use falsetto, and Maurice (right) is normally in the bass- to- baritone range naturally, but is singing falsetto here. Maurice is a master vocal harmonizer, and can sing at whatever range is necessary to create the best possible harmonies.

This song was recorded as a part of a fund raiser and all the proceeds from this song went to UNICEF. It raised over $10 Million Dollars. The lead singer is Barry Gibb with his borthers Robin and Maurice. Singing in Falsetto takes training. This was the style of singing that made them mega stars and multi-millionaires. The blend of voices is amazing.

Barry Gibb, the guy in the middle had a true tenor voice and epic high falsetto range. All of the Gibb brothers shared that trait even the brother whose natural & easiest vocal range was bass could do a high tenor falsetto with ease. The group is called Bee Gees as a play on the Brothers Gibb which was their original group name. They are all brothers and sang together from childhood. What you just watched was the actual studio recording session of this song. No sound boards, no tech gimmicks just them and the musicians you see playing live while they sing.

The Bee Gees are one of the most talented musical groups of all time. Barry (the one in the middle) was the oldest. Maurice and Robin are twins and they have both passed away. And there was another younger brother named Andy, who was quite a bit younger and went solo with his brothers help. Sadly he passed away from a heart condition that most likely was due to his drug use. He looked and sounded most like Barry. The older 3 guys started performing in the 60s and just got better as the years went by. Watch Saturday Night Fever. Quite a bit of their music is on there. And just watching videos of them here on RUclips will amaze you of their talent.

Hahaha. Frankie Valli - Big Girls Don't Cry, Prince, Philip Bailey, Remy Shand , Roy Orbison, Eddie Holman- Hey There Lonely Girl, Russell Tompkins from The Stylistics singing You Make Me Feel Brand New, Mick Hucknall from Simply Red... Lots of men can sing falsetto. Barry Gibb does it very well but so did a lot of 60's male vocalists. What is special about the Gibb brother's is there were FOUR very gifted vocalists in the family and they all had the voices of angels OR yeah, if Jesus could sing I imagine he'd sound just like this because it's absolute heaven to my ears!
Also, Barry can sing in his chest voice and in a pillow soft whisper voice. He's a beautiful vocalist and the brother's harmonies are unmatched. Robin (on Barry's right has a beautiful vibrato voice that is very moving as well). He sings lead on many of their hits.

I didn’t stick around to see the rest of your poor reaction. It’s too bad you showed disgust to one of the finest tunes of a group that is so widely beloved just because you couldn’t accept that they were singing in falsetto voices. If you bothered to find out, you’d know that their natural voices were much lower than they display in this song.

I don’t know what reaction you watched but he had no disrespect for the Bee Gees. Instead, he was blown away by their voices.

It's so much fun watching young people discover the Bee Gees. They started singing together as children so that's how they could train their voices to sing so smoothly even in falsetto.
I lol'd at "Jesus if he was rich"

Bee Gees originally from the Isle Of Man an island off the coast of the United Kingdom, they are brothers, first bro left is Robin Gibb , middle bro is Barry Gibb , bro on right is Maurice Gibb, later in life as youngster’s moved to the UK , as children they emigrated to Australia still chid performers, but with the explosion of the sixties music scene the guys realised the UK was the place to be, and in the 1960s had their first no1 hit , the guys always first and foremost considered themselves songwriters before being vocalists, and have written songs for many famous artists, including Diana Ross, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodger’s , Dionne Warwick , Barbara Streisand, Frankie Valli, to many other songs for artists to mention, Elvis covered a Bee gees song called Words, the guys also wrote for films like Saturday Night Fever and Grease both films starring John Travolta , Bee gees have had hits over four decades, they had 6 consecutive no1 hits in a row in the 1970s , and have sold over 250 million records worldwide, welcome to the phenomenal talent which are the Bee gees they have a huge catalog of amazing songs, great reaction thanks!

Oh man, you are so funny to listen to!! His voice is much much lower than you’d think. He said he would practice for hours to get that pitch and longevity in to his singing. Watch a few videos of some,of their other songs. They decided to go this route because it was so unique and was an instant hit!
Grow up woth them, they are the best singing voices out there and superb song writers besides.
All brothers, two on the outside are twins. He was oldest

The guy in the middle is Barry Gibb, the oldest of the brothers Gibb (and the only surviving brother, see below). This is what he sounds like when he talks (you should really react to this clip, too, it's so much fun) ruclips.net/video/rVbHWLvTCCw/видео.html
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born.
All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ruclips.net/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/видео.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ruclips.net/video/CA4CInDnTk8/видео.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ruclips.net/video/162GlAEpfrY/видео.html.
Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on ruclips.net/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/видео.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing ruclips.net/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/видео.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

These 3 brothers used to sing in their bedroom as children and their mother thought they accidentally left the radio on. Mom opened the door to turn the radio off and realized it wasn’t the radio that she was hearing! Barry is the oldest, in the middle, and he’s the only one still alive! The other 2 are twins (Robin, hand on his hips and Maurice, pronounced Morris, in the green shirt) and they passed in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Barry is actually a baritone so he originally sang lower but discovered his falsetto in the song Nights on Broadway. He can sing 5-6 octaves which only comes to savants who were born with a real gift. All 3 of them were born with a special gift! Some songs they sang had the lead part performed by Robin and those songs are just as amazing.

Three brothers all with amazing talent. They all have quite a range, they can all sing falsetto but Barry (singing it in this video) does it usually. He discovered his falsetto by accident. He can also sing in lower registers. Continue your journey with them starting in the '60s. It's amazing. Oh, by the way, many male singers sing falsetto, Frankie Valli and Brian Wilson comes to mind.
