Cons: "Smart" materials needed to be matless. Design Space required. No rotary blade. Having a rotary blade would make this super useful for people doing fabric arts. If Cricut is expanding into commercial space, the software can't be breaking all the time.
I love that I can always count on Cricut to invent something amazing for those of us who craft. This machine looks fantastic. I'll be saving up for one. But I have to do it quietly ...don't want to make my Maker jealous .. LOL
Jennifer what a wonderful introduction! ❤️ I am 79 years old and I don’t think I will be needing the Cricut Venture. If I were younger and going in business I would love it. I have to remind myself of my age. I do love crafting! I also really love all of your tutorials! Thank you so much from my heart! ❤️❤️❤️
Jennifer, you were my first Cricut guru and I follow you to this day. You are so informative and you make it easy to understand. Thank you for always imparting your tips and tricks to help us become better crafters. Bravo!
I finally am feeling comfortable with the maker. I’ve had it almost 2 years now. It’s always FOMO when new and grander things come out but I think I’ll just stay focused on becoming an expert on my maker. Still lots to learn! lol
Great introduction! I sure wished there was a rotary blade for this machine. For this price point I feel like that would seal the deal for me. But as I understand it, you can use a bonded fabric blade. That could work as well. 🤔
Thank you Jennifer for your awesome tutorial! Love the projects you make and that sunflower is amazing!! I will be adding this item to my Cricut bucket list for sure!!! 🩵
Jenniffer great job on the introduction off the new Cricut Machine! Cricut has done it again another great awesome cutting machine well done Cricut!!!! Done think I will be getting one maybe if I was a little bit younger lol Thank you again for sharing this amazing machine! Hugs Liz 😊
This looks really cool! But although I do own a small business, I most likely wouldn't need or have a use for something this big for at least a couple of years! 😅 It's nice to know that it's out there now, though!
But I’ll make that back in two weeks. There are some of us crafters that operate as small businesses the machines I’m currently looking at to upgrade to cost $4,000 new and $2,000 used but those are some converted machines.
Q: Can you please tell us about your printer shown in this video? I was hesitant about the Cricut Venture before your video but after watching your presentation I’m coming around BUT I will have to watch more in-depth videos before I jump on this boat. SPACE is definitely my biggest consideration. I’m definitely a Cricut girl, I just wish Cricut would do a BETTER job of making the accessories more interchangeable for their customers. I understand wanting to be innovative BUT think about the customers and the machines they already have. I have 3 Cricut machines and I want to continue using them BUT I also want to have exciting new accessories for them. Thank you Jennifer for doing these videos, you really are a GREAT teacher. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ you and Cricut.
Holy cow when you say unboxing my God that's huge! I just watched is there a press release of course the comments were disabled but I don't care wow what a machine I didn't think I needed another one but I'm thinking I do and with all the gadgets that this thing can have and what it can do wow absolutely amazing thank you for showing this I trust you more than I do Maker's going to learn that was a waste of money I know they mean well.
I’m actually curious to see if this could be my solution I’ve been looking for to cut out clothing patterns for my sewing. Would love to see how it does with fabric
Looks seriously cool for small businesses, but probably not for me since I'm just a small-time crafter. My other hesitation would be the Cricut smart vinyl. I've had waaaaay too many problems with the Smart vinyl. So even with my Maker 3, I use the regular vinyl or competing brands. Until they fix the issues with smart vinyl, I'm sticking with the mats (pun intended). I'm still excited to see what sort of cool projects everyone comes up with!
Thank you so much Jennifer for the wonderful and exciting video! I already have a Cricut Maker but I think the Cicut Venture is really worth saving up for. Thanks again for all your hard work!
Some of the last Cricut releases have been a bit of a disappointment to me. Love the size of the Cricut Joy, but no Print Then Cut, which was a deal breaker for me ( I wanted to make decoupage pieces for my 3D cards) The AutoPress? Soooo expensive, and yet it seems to fail on items needing heavy pressure. Now this - great large format, but a step back from the Maker since it can't use the Maker tools like the Rotary Blade and more. I applaud the innovations and new options, but I'm hoping that someone somewhere in the Cricut design world is also working on some ground breaking improvements to Design Space so that those of us with smaller budgets still feel like we are being catered to. One wish of mine is to be able to Print Then Cut on the SMALLER page sizes that my printer can print on, like 5X7 and 3.5X5, so I can Print Then Cut Smaller projects with less waste. I'm also concerned with how much the consumables will be for the Venture. A glance at the Canadian Cricut store shows the large mats at $45 each! (Canadian) Gulp!!
The Venture it not for everyone, and it sounds like it's not for you. But I appreciate that they are trying to accommodate those who do have a need for something like this.
Strongly considering buying this. I have the 24” silhouette machine but it’s been causing a lot of frustration with the vinyl moving all over the place while making larger cuts. My only issue with the venture is that I won’t be able to make larger cuts without a mat using non-cricut vinyl. I really love oracal vinyl so I’m torn.
I almost thought about giving this a try but not if I can only use cricut vinyl when cutting mat less. I'll stick with Sillouette Pro and use whatever vinyl I want mat less.
Yes! While the Cricut Venture doesn’t work with the Maker’s rotary blade, but you can use the bonded-fabric blade to cut material using the same steps as those for the Explore. 😊🌻
I’ve been saving for the new Cricut because I knew it was about time and I’d love it but I don’t know if my craft room is big enough and I’m sure my husband won’t trade me with the master berm. LOL!
It has taken them a long time to catch up with the Silhouette Cameo Pro which I bought years ago at around half the price. If you do buy such a wide format cutter it is really useful for drawing and cutting out pdf sewing patterns. You still have to tile the larger pattern pieces, but it is a lot quicker than printing and cutting A4 or letter size paper. On the Cameo you can use the rotary blade to cut out some fabric pattern pieces directly on the mat.
@@JenniferMaker It can be loud, I would not use it late at night, depends on what material it is cutting. However it is no worse than my embroidery machine, I do not need to wear ear defenders to use it.
@@JenniferMakerit is, I have 2 cricut maker and xtra, and Cameo Pro 24” and the first time I started it I thought it was broken, but its nice that it gives you estimated time before the project is finished for multitasking
You found to let us know what field to dig in to find the cool grand this thing is gonna cost? I would love to buy this especially because I have bigger people in my family to make shirts for, but even if I had the money it's hard to justify when the cameo 4 is half the price. (And the siser is 25 percent less.) (I know there's issues with that machine, and I'm sure some will pop up with this one also.) And having to buy smart materials......
The Cricut Venture can cut, draw, score, and add sparkle with the foil tool! And, it can use its sensors to make awesome Print then Cut projects. It’s compatible with the same 100+ materials as a Cricut Explore, just on a much larger scale. I have a link to the printer I used in the blog post, linked above. 😊🌻
The concept is great, but they missed the boat when it comes to fabric, that would have been game changer for those who have difficulty cutting pattern pieces.
I just recently purchased the Venture and agree with Valerie concerns that she mentioned 5 month ago. I saw the link you gave her and the price is not too bad and is actually on sale now for $699.00. Pretty cool, but I have a Maker because of the rotary blade. Just like the Joy, I can’t really justify it, nor can I get excited about making room for it. Love the cart tho. ❤

That’s what I love about you, Jennifer, your honesty. I am planning a project for a wall and although it would be great, the cost right now, I cannot manage.
Is Cricut going to stand behind their machines and do repairs on those that go bad? I had to chuck my Maker for the sake of one little wheel that got out of place. Cricut wouldn't even take my call -- called them seven different times in one day and couldn't get through. I now have a SOLO machine, and they DO stand behind their products. Jennifer, I really like your site and have used some of the projects from your library, which you so generously share with us for free, so YOU are GREAT. Cricut . . . not so much.
It sounds like Cricut is not the right machine for you, and that's okay. I have not had any issues, and I'm continue to be a supporter of Cricut, and that's also okay. I'm happy you've found some of my free projects useful. :)
Good comment, also everyone needs to think about where they plan to keep the materials. I have a 24 in Roland cutter and my rolls of vinyl are a lot to store, not to mention the new Cricut 24 X 28in cardstock!! That's why I really liked the original Maker!!
I want this with a stand! But the price of the machine, along with the added cost of new mats and vinyl makes it out of my price range now. Would be lovely!
Hi Jennifer. I'm a newbie with the cricut and design space. I really would like to print a shirt with the two old guys on the Muppets Statler & Waldorf how do I up load them .. would love your help.. Completely look upbto u! ❤❤
The Venture looks amazing but for all it’s great features and being able to cut much larger,it is disappointing that all the blades and tools Maker owners have purchased would not work in it. The extra cost of mats, smart vinyl etc will all add to the cost, which makes this machine even more expensive than the initial outlay. As a lot of people have already mentioned, this is not aimed at the ordinary crafter. Definitely not for me
Great presentation of the Venture. I think the price will prohibit buying it. How much is the docking station and the mats? Also you would need a printer with a much wider format to print large.
Yes, you would need a wide format printer to print wide format. I used a Canon ImagePrograf TC-20 I bought on Amazon -- here's my affiliate link for it: amzn.to/46DAWp6
Cricut is killing me! I just got an Explore Air 2 and fell in love with it. Now I see this awesome machine and think, "I need love that!" LOL. Guess I better start saving.
What is wrong with a decent vinyl cutter machine?? Ok for for doing crafting stuff but not that great for vinyl and rhe software is limited as normal. Sort out the software before you keep releasing ew machines just for the sales..
Thank you for the thorough preview. While it looks like a cool machine, I don’t see a need for this in my crafting. Small business owners will benefit greatly. I’m very happy with my Explore and will continue to learn from your fantastic videos.
Thank you Jennifer for your videos, this machine sounds so great . Right now it may not be in my budget and need , but who knows maybe one day . I'm sure some people will hit big with this one . Thank you again for your honesty.

It sounds like Cricut is not the right machine for you, and that's okay. I have not had any issues, and I'm continue to be a supporter of Cricut, and that's also okay. I'm happy you've found some of my free projects useful. :)
Very nice machine - It isn’t anything I would use
I understand, the Venture is not for everyone.
I wouldn’t waste my money! My explore air two is enough for me!
Thanks for watching 😊🌻
It's certainly not for everyone 💗
Hi Jennifer! What printer did you use for your print and cuts?
This is the one she says she uses on her website:
Canon imagePROGRAF TC-20 24″ Large Format Poster & Plotter Printer
I used a Canon ImagePrograf TC-20 I bought on Amazon -- here's my affiliate link for it: amzn.to/46DAWp6
Can this new Cricut machine cut acrylics? By the way, awesome video as always! :)
No, it cannot. You would want something like a laser cutter for that.
WOW what a machine. Not for me I still have to master my explore 2
I understand, and I don't think the Venture is for everyone.
Thanks Jennifer for this overview. Not sure if I need a machine that big, but it's nice to know it's there if I need it.
Good comment, also everyone needs to think about where they plan to keep the materials. I have a 24 in Roland cutter and my rolls of vinyl are a lot to store, not to mention the new Cricut 24 X 28in cardstock!!
That's why I really liked the original Maker!!
You are welcome. :)
Can you create 3D pop art with the Venture?
Yes! You can cut anything on the Venture that you can with the Explore 💗
I want this with a stand! But the price of the machine, along with the added cost of new mats and vinyl makes it out of my price range now. Would be lovely!
I totally understand. It's an investment for sure🥰
hi fabric? is it useful for fabric 🤔🙏🏾
You can cut fabric that is bonded with the Venture. But whether or not that is a good idea, I am not sure yet.
Hi Jennifer. I'm a newbie with the cricut and design space. I really would like to print a shirt with the two old guys on the Muppets Statler & Waldorf how do I up load them .. would love your help.. Completely look upbto u! ❤❤
We have a tutorial here - jennifermaker.com/print-cut-cricut-transfer-tshirts that will be helpful 😊🌻
Definitely not for me
This is aimed for small businesses and the price is lower than other comparable machines on the market.
Great presentation of the Venture. I think the price will prohibit buying it. How much is the docking station and the mats? Also you would need a printer with a much wider format to print large.
Docking Stand is $349.99
I saw as a package it'll be 1249
Yes, you would need a wide format printer to print wide format.
It sounds like the Venture is not the right machine for you.
Thank you for the thorough preview. While it looks like a cool machine, I don’t see a need for this in my crafting. Small business owners will benefit greatly. I’m very happy with my Explore and will continue to learn from your fantastic videos.
Thanks for watching! I know that Venture is not for everyone.
Can you use the maker 3 in the venture cart? I really like that cart
The cart is not sold separately at the moment.
Thank you Jennifer for your videos, this machine sounds so great . Right now it may not be in my budget and need , but who knows maybe one day . I'm sure some people will hit big with this one . Thank you again for your honesty.
Love it!!
Kind of off-topic, but what printer do you use? I’ve been looking into larger format printers.
To test the larger format, I used a Canon imagePROGRAF TC-20 24″ Large Format Poster & Plotter Printer. 💗
