I was at this game and my brother in law wanted to leave early towards the middle of the 3rd quarter to beat traffic he’s a dolphins fan but I felt like something was going to happen we stayed and the rest is history!! One of the best memories I have!

@@jimboscooter432 the traffic after the game does get really bad. I only used to live like 10 minutes at max from the stadium but it would take about an hour after the game. What can I say my brother in law has no patience 😂

This game almost makes up for thousands of wasted dollars on Jets season tickets for a few years. The stadium was an absolute madhouse; I think only the divisional round win over the Jaguars in the previous year was louder. The next morning, everyone thought the Jets had lost, having had turned the game off halfway through. It was hard to explain the insane game with no voice and being dead tired after getting home well after 2 AM.

Well, you might be the last... honestly I don't care about football anymore but I was at both games and this argument is getting super pedantic and stupid, I know, but my comment was correct; if I had said season instead of year the correction would have been warranted, but that's not the case. I said previous year and in 2000 the previous year was 1999. Cripes.

I don’t think he was as terrible as some people thought.. but I’m not sure what ABC and or Monday night football was thinking having him in the booth. I guess to be the comedic side of it and he definitely said some funny things… messed up a lot too. definitely some cringey stuff(Not saying anything bad, but just messing up or not making sense I guess?) But I gotta give him credit for trying because I got a feeling he didn’t probably know what he needed to know about football going in so to speak.. another words, you would normally hire someone that has dedicated his or her life to that sport or just Sports in general… I actually thought all three worked well together.. Hey, they were trying something different..

I actually thought Miller was okay (didn't mind him, then didn't miss him), but then in general, I don't sweat the announcers too much (they can enhance the telecast a little, but I mean really, I'd take crowd noise/reaction over announcing when it comes to what matters in a sporting event).
@@gluserty At the time I thought it was a fun experiment, but nowadays I'm more picky about who's commenting on the games. Most are just in the background, but rarely you get the announcing team that adds a lot to the telecast. Also rarely do you get the distracting team.
Like you say, the crowd is the best measure of excitement. Seems to me that the fans were happier and more excited in the 80s. Thanks, RUclips!!

Was there for my 16th Birthday! Everyone left around halftime, we stayed. I felt the air go out of the Fins and im like, here we go... theyre going to lose. My step father said yeah right... then starts going heh, good call midway through the 4th.

Who at the time would’ve guessed that the Jets would get this miracle win and parlay it into losing 6 of their last 9 ands missing the playoffs entirely. Meanwhile the Dolphins won the division and beat Peyton Manning’s Colts in the wild card. It’s funny how these games seem to mean the world in the moment yet can ultimately become meaningless in the grander scheme of things. At least for one night, NYJ fans were on top of the world.

At the time I was watching this, I had a feeling about this game: I didn't know EXACTLY how things would transpire of course, but for some reason, down 30-7, I didn't feel like the Jets were done (like I couldn't believe the Oilers were up 35-3 on the Bills or the Falcons up 28-3 vs, the Patriots).
