The man who fell to Earth returned to his home in the heavens.
what a cork of shite you are talking Chris
The great gig in the sky...
God told me all music is from him to us. They play through him....THANK U GOD...
that just choked me up
Despite the fame he showed what a classy, down to earth guy he was by taking a few backward steps after doing his vocals and blending in to the background instead of wanting to steal the limelight. RIP
Bowie was the best of all worlds.
@@kmustacal Yes indeed.
He actually didn't need to steal anything, that's why.
@@enricomosca4674 You can always share!
I play this song very often for my late husband who had Parkinson’s disease ❤️💖❤️🎼🎸🥁🎹🎼🎭❤️
This is how he felt at the end of his life .
I love You. ...I Said To My wife " play this song At My funeral"...
So sorry to hear of your husband's passing Shirley and his illness. Words don't really don't it much justice but my thoughts are with you. X
God bless you , may your husband rest in peace ❤
Such a sweet way to retain his memory. Lots of love
Shirley Girling that’s beautiful!
I like how Bowie further creates his own vocal rather than try to “copy” note for note the original. There’s a reason why they called him the chameleon.
Absolutely right !!
A chameleon blends in with it's surroundings. David stood out from the crowd. He also never liked being called a chameleon.
3 people who disliked this video seriously have something wrong with them.
RIP Bowie
osp80 lol very true :)
Tout à fait vrai ...
Those who disliked are usually Germans terribly concerned with 'copyright issues' :-/
+jVLOGS I really didn't like his Bowie's singing style in this one, but I would never dislike a Pink Floyd song.
+Layne Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Definitely no Roger Waters. However, I have to say that the Gilmour guitar solo in this one is one of the best ever.
David always sings this song perfectly. Shit any of his songs..the man is ageless in vocals and playing ability.
You mean, Gilmour? There are (or were) two Davids here.
Texturas75 ha your right should of clarified. david gilmore
it could have applied to either one
Yes he does. He's amazing. Truly awesome.
His voice is like heaven, in the context of the song.
RIP legends Richard Wright & David Bowie.
Stay strong Dave Gilmour!
Syd Barret
there is no word to describe what feeling this song makes me feel. truly an out of body experience
We need Bowie. The world hasn't been right since he left us. xoxoxo
How can we ever get over that nobody comes back?
Even when somebody is most loved.. even wen they can save the world, their talents could have benefited millions... even wen they were unjustly killed... We made Jesus comeback though! Duh!
I agree completely. The world was better when Bowie was in it.
Bowie was the glue that held the universe together
@@lyndalbreen7690 Amen! Peace, Love & Bowie Forever! xoxo
Yes. We are fuck without him 🦠🧟♂️
I'm here today remembering my friend Jerry, a devoted Pink Floyd fan. As I am a devoted Bowie fan, we both enjoyed watching and listening together. He was lost to this world this past August 27,2020. Only covid-19 was powerful enough to take my "Missouri-tough" friend down.
Condolences to you on the loss of your dear friend. A piece of him lives on in you...
Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.
May he rest in peace and may you find solace
So sorry for your loss.
One of the finest songs on this planet.
With David Bowie.
Perfect, perfect, perfect.
R.I.P. David, i wish that you are on a fine place.
With David B and David G. Both are my favorites.
"Without you I'm nothing" with Brian Molko is better... My subjective opinion...
He just dead.
Absolutely love Bowie...but when David Gilmour started singing, that was it for me. His voice is so soothing and familiar to me. It's like a time warp and I'm transferred back to a wonderful time in my life. If you can, I would highly recommend listening to his solo LP from 1978...it's just stunning.
Gilmour's voice is so soothing, Bowie's voice is like nails on chalkboard.
We missing You, Mr. Bowie!
i dont miss him, only Lemmy Kilmister.
you're loss

I long for the day when I can listen/watch David Bowie without an intense pain consuming me. I miss him beyond words.
So do I :(
Me too, *MusicCollaborator*... (;o(* I try not to cry, but I'm overcome each time...by sadness and more sadness...
May David (and Rick) float into the great wide blue, watching over us...

The body may die but the legend lives on - just enjoy it................
I actually cried at the end. Never again will there be anything so musically epic.
I miss David very much as well. Thank you for posting this.
Also in memory of Mr. Richard Wright, playing also this fantastic music.
How is it possibl? Every time i see David, i start to cry. The pain of his loss doesn't shrink. I still love you angel, shining soul.
That is fucking creepy dude. You need to get help.
I understand you. I feel the same specially this performance
Imagine if the sun went out. That's what it's like living in a post-Bowie world.

My therapist told me I have to practice 'Gratitude Therapy'. What a great place to start 🙏🏻❤️
This performance took this song to another level
Gilmour's guitar and Bowie's voice was a mix made in heaven!
Bowie brought a very different take on the melody of his verses, and by god it was amazing. very him, but still worked within the song. Properly amazing, this is a great version of the song. Thank you for sharing!
I think hes singing the harmony line if I'm not mistaken. I love it though.
Im a Bowie and Floyd fan and I personally feel Bowie’s voice really plays brilliantly into the song itself and also still keeps that Bowie vibe to it. Incredible performance
Its in B minor and he is singing (mostly) a C# which makes it more of a B-add9th. Very unusual Any musos out there concur?
@@terryperring104 Yeah the verses are in Bm but he's singing mostly D with a leading note of C# (compare first and second halves of the first verse). So I think it's mostly the minor third but that leads really well into the resolution to D at the start of the chorus. I just had a relisten and Roger sings it mostly based around the tonic.
@@dfrossness It's such a departure -i'm almost worried that Roger somehow prevented them singing it with the same notes as he did. It really got petty at times didnt it, so...
Ho avuto la fortuna e il privilegio di vedere King David e i Pink Floid dal vivo. Il grande Duca Bianco, Unico e Irripetibile, David Gilmour l'altra dimensione della Musica! Fantastici!
"Come on it's time to go"...as Bowie backs away from the mic. A poignant, beautiful moment.
The soul has no eyes.
I pity those who cannot hear how magnificent Bowie's contribution is.
the fact that you pity them rather than wanting to try and explain said magnificence is pretty sad
@Nick C i mean it’s not that bad he just sing like that
Magnificent? Bowie? lol!
My favorite musician of all time, with my favorite band of all time, playing my favorite song of all time... WHY THE FUCK DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG TO FIND THIS?
Same reaction ;)
I'm glad you found it, just the same.
You don't find it, it finds you :-)
Don't be so hard yourself love. You found it when you needed it .
Brilliant. Bowie, absolute legend but something about Gilmour's voice is transcendent, ethereal, no words can describe.
Well said!
But I am glad you described it.
@@MD-ru5vs Ha! I try.
Bowie helped so many people/bands ( Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Mott the Hoople , etc.)it is absolutely fantastic to see him killing it with Gilmour. Loving it!

Agreed, then anything David Gilmour touches is epic!!
Whether he was David Jones, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Halloween Jack, the Thin White Duke or David Bowie, he was a true genius, one of a kind and left the world better than he found it. God bless David Bowie.
He was none other than the spaceman
I never get tired of listening to this song

One of the best songs ever written. David's voice still makes me cry. Thanks David & David for this beautiful rendition of "Comfortably Numb".
Don't forget rogo
This tune never gets old. But Bowies on vocals. Just listened to that 6 times in a loop
Hell yes!
It was a good thing that David Bowie got to play with the greatest band in the world
Chuck Capien
Well we all have our own opinions
It was a good thing that Pink Floyd got to play with the greatest artist in the world.
Well expressed.
This rendition of Comfortably numb is out of this world. David is spot on. David Bowie’s voice sent this to whole new level.
what a gem I just found here, this is absolute bliss
...and so sad, at the same time

"Boy, how he played guitar"! great performace of Bowie, Gilmor and Wright. Unforgettable

When I was a young U.S. Navy Destroyer Sailor we'd listen to the Floyd as we glided over calm Seas while sitting on the Fantail, wish I could have those days back!!
I can only imagine how that felt. I am 70 and have listened to this and all Pink Floyd music since my teens. And I really do wish I could have those days back. But that cannot happen so I can deal with old age by listening to the very best band and especially the brilliant David Gilmour.

R.I.P. David Bowie.

Isn't that the truth....Miss him so much!
💜BOWIE💕👏 FOREVER
People miss Bowie because David , through his voice and music, he gives and gave (through live performances) many pleasure to many people, that you and me can not give ! The perspective to know him died, is the end of all that. Bowie was a great song writter, and a great and nice man.. Yes, we all die one day, but It's sad to realize that he will not sing alive again...and he died too young !
Very well put. Couldn't agree more..............
I have watched Gilmour play this song so many times but I think having Bowie on stage made him play with even more intensity. So great!
David Bowie really turned this into even more gold. Class act.
Two legends. That’s awesome.!!!
Rick Wright... fucking mega part of the Floyd and not long left on this planet at the time this was recorded xx
Rick's work is huge. It would not be Floyd without him

Gooosbumps music. Thanks dad up i heaven to let me hear real music when I was growing up. You made me a Bowie, Floyd and Queen fan.
David gives it that eerie, poignant, gloomy, haunting, macabre, Tim Burton-esque vibe. Unique and wonderful.
It is interesting that people either love or hate Bowie's contribution. It is of course brilliant.
