I hope you don’t get too much hate, and if you do, it’ll be from people with no real world experience in hunting. Please keep doing what you do, and happy hunting 👍🏼👍🏼

Glad you found him Catman. Hate that the meat was bad. I had my worst muzzleloader shot this past Saturday on a small buck out of my climber. Coming in, quartering towards me. He got in pretty close, stopped, and started walking again just as I pulled the trigger. Hit at the top of the stomach and exited out the bottom back of his belly. Some of his intestine were bulging out. I was fortunate he hunched up and only walked a little ways before stopping. I was able to reload and put a second bullet right behind the shoulder. He dropped within 30 yards. I was VERY lucky he gave me the second shot opportunity.

Yeah it's weird how underpowered muzzleloaders are. I'm gonna start neck or high shoulder shooting them to try and drop them cause like you said, ML blood trails usually suck. Makes ya almost wanna use a bow

I'm proud of you Catman for persevering and staying with it until you found him. If you hunt long enough a sometimes questionable shot happens. If someone says they never lost a deer they either haven't hunted very long or they aren't telling the truth. I lost a nice buck years ago that I neck shot. Even had a guide with me and perhaps he survived. Who knows? Still a good video and a good buck! Keep the videos coming Catman!

Just watched this hunt and I have been there before with no blood on muzzleloader hunts after 30 years I have finally found the best bullet I believe it's a Barnes Expander all copper 250 grain hollow point . They either drop or bleed like you wouldn't believe but every single one exits the deer and they leave a huge exit hole . I have the cva wolf just like yours and they are tack drivers out of it . Love your channel reminds me of myself many years ago . Keep it up and I'll be watching.

Man he's tall! Good buck. I'm glad you found him. It's amazing how they can just blend in in wide open ground like that. Me and my dad did the same thing once. Walked right by the buck he'd shot on the way in. Gave up and started back out, we had walked on each side of him within 10 feet and hadn't seen him in an open pine stand. Luckily I spotted him on the way out.

Great buck, at least you found him for the rack, too bad you didn't find him the day before. I shot a doe about a week ago with the bow that required a grid search. Complete pass through, but lost the blood trail after about 100 yards. Turns out she ran about 400 yards flat out with lungs plugging up one hole somehow and a bit of guts plugging up the other. Took about 4 hours to find her and the temps were in the 50's so no problem with the meat.

Well, damn. I'm fairly certain if you had not been trying to make sure the camera was on this buck and put your full time & attention on the shot, the shot would have been slightly better placed. We are grateful for your efforts to capture the hunt on film for us to watch and enjoy. Just sucks it cost you that bucks meat to get this footage. Fortunately, nothing goes to waste in nature and the critters will have that devoured in no time at all. Keep at it and we'll keep watching! Beautiful buck BTW!

That is a bad break. I hardly ever climb a tree anymore, but I have found that it is often more difficult to find a good blood trail from the ground. Obviously, the angle makes a difference, but on a higher or further back shot or not a full pass through, it can darn near impossible.
