For some reason Dr. dray your videos for the last couple of days have been my companions when I really needed comfort. Like I’m stressed out or I just need some company or need to get myself together, your videos make me feel comfortable and put together again ❤
While I rarely shop at drug stores because the prices are ridiculous, I still appreciate these types of videos. Most of these products can be found at Wal-Mart or even ULTA cheaper so this is still helpful for me. I also appreciate that you go over ingredients and why they may or may not be good. Thanks so much!! Happy Tuesday, Dr Dray! Hope you have a peaceful evening. ❤
I always watch for high Valley coupons and compare prices before purchasing anything. There are low and mid value coupons that come out fairly regularly but it’s the high value coupons that really make it worth it to buy them at Walgreens versus Walmart for me.
The only time I shop CVS is right after I've picked up my monthly Rx renewals - those coupons really make a huge difference! My favorite body SPF was only $5., and my favorite micellar water was $2.99 for the BIG bottle. I find I overbuy if I keep going to WalMart every time I think I "need" something.
I agree , CVS & Walgreens are $$$ . Skincare I buy everything fragrance free ON SALE or with coupons , bonus bucks . Otherwise go to target etc I buy most things on sale eg clothing, home goods, etc
Things I learned from Dr. Dray. White Petrolatum is the GOAT 🐐 Use sunscreen Wash your hands, rinse thoroughly and moisturize Sleep well, eat well, and exercise Don’t store your razor in the shower Stop using antibacterial ointments and cleansers Use smaller amounts of products Keep track of expiration dates and don’t buy more than you can use Manage your expectations
Thank you SO much for the Neosporin info. The last scratch I put this on got angry, red, and itchy. I finally decided to remove it and the bandage to see if it'd heal on its own. Lo and behold all the angry red/itchy cleared up fairly quick. I suspected there was something in the Neosporin that caused it but didn't know til now. thanks for this!
Happy New Year! Panoxyl also has an Adapalene gel now. So many brands do and now Skinfix has something called Adapinoid? It’s actually rights reserved. What I’m wondering is why none of these companies have incorporated soothing and hydrating/moisturizing ingredients into an Adapalene product yet? I’d looove to see that!
La roche posay Sun creen I have bought from CVS so when I have like the 40% off coupon I would never pay full price for it but I also do love the banana boat sensitive skin sunscreen
I stopped using Neosporin and use vaseline as per your recommendation Dr. Dray.. works great. Keeping your hands moisturized assists in quick healing. Thank you for all your good advice. I use "tears" for my eyes.
Happy New Year! If it interests you, I'd love to know your thoughts about the theory of competing peptides; and additionally the ingredients ectoin and neurophroline. Thanks again for everything you do here!
I ditched all my drugstore skincare except for Cerave nightly exfoliant. I use Riversol 3 step routine plus their retinol serum and sunscreen. It may seem expensive but the products actually last for months since they are very concentrated and you actually only need to use very small amounts. If you are in Canada, particularly the Vancouver area, the products are all made there and shipping is super fast, usually 1-2 days. Try their free sample offer. You will love it.
I've tried their (Riversol) products and found they were only so-so and *way* too expensive. I appreciate Dr. Dray's more reasonably priced suggestions for the same kinds of products.
@@spanierk I guess we disagree that drugstore products are the "same kinds of products" as the Riversol products. The 3 piece kit is $139cdn so about $100usd and it lasts me 5 months. That's cheaper than drugstore and much better results. Their retinol is $88cdn and it lasts me just about 3 months and is much better and effective than any drugstore retinol I've tried.
Happy New Year! 2023 was a prolific year for new products! Thank you for sharing and informing us about these new products! I've been following you since the beginning of your videos and I appreciate the work and time you give to your subscribers! With your recommendations, my skin looks better and better. Thanks for saving us money! I was about to add eyelid wipes (which can be handy for elders, btw) to my shopping list but listened and my Cetaphil cleanser should be fine. I have ALL the symptoms of ocular rosacea but I have type 1. I've also had rosacea for 22 years now. I need a proper diagnosis to see if its ocular rosacea or not. I use the Refresh PF Omega 3 eyedrops in the individual little containers. It's the best one I've tried for my dry eyes. I use Nasacort and an antihistamine medication as well. Have you tried Avenova hypochlorous spray? It’s the only thing that keeps my ocular rosacea calm. My ophthalmologist offered a laser treatment but it’s crazy expensive and it freaks me out
The problem with drugstore skincare is that after a few years of using a product you love they discontinue it. I'm so tired of that and it's exhausting to constantly research and find new products. I switched to a locally made product line by a respected dermatologist and it was the best decision. No more wasting time and effort researching and buying local is much more satisfying not to mention easy and effortless; I place my order online and 2 days later it's in my mailbox.
I've steered clear of drugstore products. The prices are crazy ---- > Aveeno Calm+Restore is just so costly. I have switched to The Inkey List and The Ordinary.
In October 2022, 3 months ago, I put Frankincense essential oil on my face for my hyperpigmentation. I got an actual chemical burn, and worsened the hyperpigmentation, spread all over my face. Now seeing a dermatologist and using triple combo cream (tretinoin, hydroquinone, and steroid cream), which is working to fade the damage I have done. Been on it 1 month. One more month to go on this, then am told I need to stop it and we will reassess what to do next depending on what my skin response it. Am advised that I may need to go to a cosmetologist to learn to cover the damage for the rest of my life.
Hopefully you were also advised to wear a broad spectrum sunscreen everyday, as well as sun protective clothing & accessories and seeking shade. You have to follow this advice and keep it up. Even if you are inside near windows, in the car, or cloudy days. When you check the weather, also check the UV, it can be very high on cloudy days. None of the advice will work unless you are dedicated to wearing a UVA& UVB 50+ sunscreen everyday. Good luck! 👱🏻♀️❤️
Hey Dr. Dray! Did the Neutrogena sensitive skin face moisturizer get discontinued? All I’ve been able to find is a new “daily facial moisturizer” that the packaging says can be used on sensitive skin. Wondering if it’s the same thing! Love your videos!
So my husband has been prescribed terbinafine for stubborn toenail fungus and I’m concerned about the side effects. Could you do a video on your opinion of terbinafine Dr. Dray?
Hello!Thank you for sharing! Today this product popped on my newsfeed and people raved about this. What do you think about Advanced Clinicals Anti-Aging Hyaluronic Acid Cream?
Capsaicin cream is good for arthritis BUT NEVER USE ON WET OR DAMP SKIN. My mother did put it on while damp after a bath, and it was totally super chilli on her skin. Like rocket fuel, she ran round the house to cool off, so I guess it fixed the hip twinges.
I know the Avene face & body sunscreen @ ~ $50 seems crazy expensive but I noticed it was 4.1 ozs. so that's ~ $12.20 an oz. & therefore, in line with A LOT of other drugstore sunscreens (that are packaged at 1 oz. or 1.7 ozs.)😊 Love ❤ your videos Dr. Dray!!!
That actually makes sense tbh. I could definitely justify spending $50 on it then. For me personally as someone that struggles with acne and very sensitive skin, I’d rather spend a pretty penny on good quality skincare than hundreds of dollars on makeup that will make me break out anyway lol
This was a good refresher course for me . But Walgreens is very expensive so I always wait for the buy one get one free or get one one half off and clip my coupons and get my Reward Points by taking my vaccines there.🤔
Hi Dr. Dray! I recently had a second degree burn - Christmas cooking got the best of me lol it is all healed by now but there will be a scar - how to treat it in order to fade it out?
I burned my hand on Dec 16 while making tamales. I already use adapalene for hyperpigmentation on my hands. I am barely able to see the burn/redness I am sure it is the adapalene that helped to minimize the scarring.
Since Avene discontinued the Recovery cream and the Tolerance extrem and came with the new tolerance control, hydra 10 and B3 nothing is the same. The new cremes are without Mineral oil and very bad. The Galenik is awfull, zero results and the prices (in Europe) are exploded.
What are your thoughts on Green Goo products? Their tattoo balm is a saving grace for itchiness- I have yet to find anything that works as well but I’m not sure what the magic ingredient is!
Gold irritates my skin. I tried the Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Mask and it irritated my skin so bad. I tried it twice to make sure it was the mask, and I was itchy all over. I gave it to my sister and she loved it. So, now I avoid anything that has gold.
For those of us who have stopped buying at drugstores due to the rising cost, I’ve got it down to an exact science: 1. Walmart for my CereVe and ELF cleansers & makeup, and 2. Stylevana for my K & J products (cheapest site, but be prepared to wait 8 weeks for your order).
Dr dray what do you think about the carmex weather weather guard lip balm stick you bought at yhe end of your video? I just got one as well, but when i applied it i noticed a cooling effect on my lips, kinda like the one you get with menthol type balms. Is this concerning, i think it is coming from its flavoring ingredient.
Dr dray should i apply niacinamide 10% on damp skin or dry face ? Should i apply it before my cerave cream , i have very sensitive acne prone skin, acne under control but still on accutane

As for favorite skin care products that have been discontinued, I am grieving over the loss of my favorite facial moisturizer. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra Dry Fragrance Free Hyaluronic Acid. I am sick about having to give that up. So hoping to find a dupe for it. But not very hopeful for that. 😕
Even if it does work, I wouldn't apply it directly from the tube/stick; because you would be recontaminating the affected area. Use something disposable to apply ointments/ creams etc (and not your finger) and don't "double dip"! 👱🏻♀️❤️
Not sure about styes but for derms Doctorly has one but most videos are going to be from eye doctors like Dr. Rupa Wong, Eye School with Dr. D, Doctor Eye Health, etc. Dr Dray has a video on HS.
@@db-gb5xi Thanks! I’ve seen that video, and actually have used the G&G retinal for a year and get along well with it. I was just wondering if there was something better about the Avene for the price.

LRP has some good deals especially with the sunscreens for kids (which is just a marketing term more or less) and right now i am wearing the anthelios kids lotion spf 50+. Happy Tuesday Whitney Brown. Have a lovely day and take care.
Greetings d b hope u r well n Happy Tuesday😀👍💜….
Try the Elf brand. Their moisturizers are nice and they also have a gel cream moisturizer
Could the carmex lip balm also work for foot fungus, like the vicks vaporub?
Even if it does work, I wouldn't apply it directly from the tube/stick; because you would be recontaminating the affected area. Use something disposable to apply ointments/ creams etc (and not your finger) and don't "double dip"!

Whew! That neutragena adapalene is expensive!
😂😂 the heart shape of radiant skin...too funny 😂😂
Do you have a video on styes? And, HS?
Not sure about styes but for derms Doctorly has one but most videos are going to be from eye doctors like Dr. Rupa Wong, Eye School with Dr. D, Doctor Eye Health, etc. Dr Dray has a video on HS.
Why is Avene’s retinal so expensive? Is it better than geek and gorgeous A game 10? 🤔
For the Geek and Gorgeous, I'd check Dr Dray's brand review. A number of derms recommend the Avene though.
@@db-gb5xi Thanks! I’ve seen that video, and actually have used the G&G retinal for a year and get along well with it. I was just wondering if there was something better about the Avene for the price.
I am curious too about which brand has more potents retrinal
50 $ for sunscreen 😅 wow expensive overload. LRP has some good deals especially with the sunscreens for kids (which is just a marketing term more or less) and right now i am wearing the anthelios kids lotion spf 50+. I always love the shop with me videos. But seriously Avene and Olay really fight on the price 😮😅.
Oh, I use the very same sunscreen too! I love how its an hybrid without white cast and no zinc oxide. I am able to get the 250ml huge size and the 150ml too when I can find the XL, Under $30!! :)
@@Heidi_137 Me too i always get the xl size if i find it on sale especially the 250 ml it's so practical for me 😊🙏😇😍. Also i love how it spreads on the skin idk it's a neurocutaneous thing 😅.
Happy new year Dr dray! I’m wanting to know more about infra red led at home I’m wanting to buy a mat for the body but I’m not sure if there’s brands that work better than others.
Very educational 👍🏻
Those eye scrubs are way too drying. Gave me eyelid dermatitis. Now I just use facial cleanser and the. Spray hypochlorous spray on my lash line and rub it around. That was my ophthalmologist’s recommendation.
Hi Dr Dray Vanicream antiperspirant is out of stock 🙁what would you recommend instead? Thanks!
She's recommended the Almay for sensitive skin. She's also recommended certain dri.
I use Certain Dri. The Vanicream antiperspirant didn’t work on me.
@@Jacquelinesusanschmi thank you! x
Certain dry was a fail for me. Gave me itchy pits. I’m using up Sure unscented which is ok but I’ve got almay in the cabinet to try next.
@@Hemmyii thanks, I’ve got the Almay gel but I’m unsure whether I like it, it’s taking some getting used to after using a stick for so long!
Immediately throwing out all the Neosporin tubes in my house. Dozens.
