    Possible topic for a future video: I just read how older adults should avoid the long term use of “anticholinergic” medications which have been shown in some studies to affect memory. Two of the common ones I had been using as a nightly sleep aid are Benadryl and Nyquil type meds. From what I can tell melatonin is not an anticholinergic med, at least it wasn’t shown on the list. Sleep is such an important part of the overall equation, and for those of us over 50 sleep can be elusive causing us to reach for sleep aids that may be negatively impacting our memory. Have you heard anything about these studies that you could share with us in an upcoming video?

    • @themikeroberts
      @themikeroberts Год назад +1

      There is a study or two showing that melatonin users had increased bone fractures, and there's a theoretical mechanism for how melatonin could cause reduced bone density.
      I use CBD (Swanson brand was the only one that worked for me) to sleep and it works amazingly well. The long term effects of CBD are probably unknown since research on cannabis was so limited but we do know not sleeping is terrible for a person's health so I figure it's worth the unknown risk.

As a matter of fact baby diaper rash cream/barrier cream are a life saver not protecting the skin from incoming attacks that can worsen the already impaired skin but also they start creating a friendly healing environment for the recovery of the skin. After a sunburn if i remember correctly you suggested plain emmolient creams fragrance free of course right ? Very interesting note about high doses of biotin. Thank you for pointing that out! What really surprises me is the prevalence of high dose biotin now being rather commonplace in energy drinks (especially ones like Celsius and I think Bang, etc.). Why would biotin be in a can of something with over 200mg of caffeine when its presence in blood could prevent detection of a heart attack? Sounds like a shady corporate malpractice waiting to happen (especially when each can of such brands are explicit that two per day maximum is the limit for safe use-think of any people in your lives who run on energy drinks and whether or not they’re already dangerously over-consuming these (or caffeinating in addition to one or two per day).

    The reason that the store brand isn’t locked but the national brand is is because of Organized Retail Crime or ORC. These groups steal the items & then sell them back to the retailer. So essentially the retailer is buying back their own product. But they wouldn’t be tricked into buying back their store brand which is why it’s left unlocked.

    Biotin causes my nails to grow like crazy and hair feels thicker, I guess my own body chemistry loves biotin. It works for me. But I tell dr I take if blood tests!

    Hey Doc, Video Idea for your great reviews: The Palmer's product array; body and facial. I'm wondering whether Cocoa-butter really does what it claims (smooths scars and stretch marks) or is it an old wives' tale?

      Yes. Please review some palmers products. My issue with them is nearly all contain fragrance. And their sulfur soap deserves a review

    Thank you Dr Dray for another informative video. I didn’t see any differences on hair growth while taking Biotin. Interestingly I was found to have hypothyroidism which contributes on the hair loss 😅
