Over at Berry Trucking RUclips they are pulling out the frame entirely and then prepare to insert a new one. Good teaching moment. Especially as you have so many nice trucks with rotten frames. It is worth watching. Damn... those rails are looooong.
When you said a little low, I was thinking maybe a gallon LOL... The ol' girl took quite a bit. If it's leaking, you would definitely
be able to see it and or smell it. I'm surprised she didn't get a little warm on you the last time you drove it.
Glad you have heat again. I still can't believe how much different it looks than the day you picked it up, and tried to drive home .
Just takes time to heal Mike. I too have never really got over some of my losses and they are many years old

Great video Mike glad you were able to bleed out the cooling system and get heat back in the cab of Duke. Hopefully if you have a leak it is easy to fix. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mike and Dad.

DUKE has a drinking problem 😅
Does it have a valve to turn the water off to the heater core might try to locate that and check it
If it stops smoking after running a while either the rings and seals are holding or you ran out of oil... it's one or the other!
So, not air bubbles in the cooling system, just air and no where near enough coolant? That will sure prevent the heater from working.

Big peice of cardboard under engine to locate leaks (if any) Duke seems to have a drink problem.
The top hose is the out according to the labeling

You did a pretty good job with Duke caboom that Peterbilt you ever thought about maybe painting up under the front fenders they're looking pretty rough even though rocks and stuff fly up maybe some gravel garter something but the truck looks really really good
