Those people sing without microphones with a full orchestra. Somewhat like you Anastasia, For me it's Jukka (drums) I'm a beginner student and watching him play is an absolute delight for me. I discovered Nightwish late in life I'm catching up also.
I truly believe that if you really want to sing like Floor you have to live the story or fully understand the story the song writer is telling and that is what makes Nightwish so great every one of them believe in the song they are playing

I bought the new album with her and there are great songs on it, but i don't like her live. I saw them with Tarja 3 times live and i wanted to go to an conzert with Anette, but something came up and than i listen more other bands. But than come Floor, a godpresent for the band and the fans and most of them love her. Me too! She's the best female singer i've ever seen and perfekt for Nightwish! And really beautiful! Maybe you have some time to check out her channel and hear her covers she did in the last ~half year, started with the cover of the disney movie Frozen "Let it go", than i like her "Alone" cover of the band Hurt and her cover of Lara Fabian's "Adagio" very much, but my favorite is her last cover "Oblivion" of M83 i think! This is one of my favorits.....i couldn't make a choice because all the songs are awesome but Floor said in a interview that Ever dream is one of the hardest song to sing and you can see why but she always delivers a great performance, vocalist always sing what the can Floor sings whatever she wants to sing because she can do it all thnx for your reaction and greetings from the Netherlands
Marko does do quite a few songs as lead as well as harmonies with Floor. Try 'The Islander' live at Tampere for a great Marko solo and 'While Your Lips are Still Red' live at Wembley where Floor is actually a backup. Others where he's got a lot of vocals include, 'Devil and Deep Blue Ocean' Live at Buenos Aires, 'Ghost River' live at Wacken 2013, 'Romanticide'.

I'm much like you in my Nightwish journey. I was a Tarja and Nightwish fan in the early-mid 2000s, but my interest in them died out during the years with Annette. When Floor joined I don't think I even noticed, I was paying attention to other symphonic metal bands. Epica, Edenbridge, Delain, Xandria, Dark Sarah, and more. When Floor's first album was released I think I must have heard Elan (the first single off their first album with her) - but I didn't give it as much of a chance. I never knew about Showtime Storytime, which is the recording of the Wacken 2013 concert. But via RUclips reactions I finally heard Ghost Love Score at Wacken, with Floor, and that is when I woke up. I said, wait a minute, this is incredible. I asked myself, where have I been? And like you I went down the rabbit hole, listening to Storytime, Everdream, Dark Chest of Wonders, She is my Sin (you have to hear She is my Sin, for me that is/was the quintessential Tarja track). Floor is phenomenal. I am and will always be a Tarja fan, but for me personally I enjoy Floor more. I love her diversity and power. Tarja did one thing and she did that one thing great, like noone else (the operatic style). But that's basically all she did with Nightwish. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking Tarja, I love her. But Floor brings more of a metal edge that I love and appreciate. I'm having fun watching your own Nightwish journey. I can't wait until you get to Floor's performances on the show Beste Zangers! Personally I would recommend listening to those songs in the order in which they appeared on the show, but whatever path you take into those, it's going to be incredible

Great reaction, I liked your enthusiasm. For me the best performance of Marko as a singer is " high hopes", also "the islander" is a great one, both are softer songs. For a great song made for him.. "endlessness" from the last album, this one is a little heavier. And for a catchy song with both of them "Ghost river", on the heavy side. Stay safe 🤘😁🤘
Yes! Thinking about "what would ** do here" is helpful when practising. I wish I could "channel" Tuomas into my piano playing more! and Marko singing! Marko sings "High Hopes" the Nightwish tribute to Pink Floyd! Tuomas keeps it simple but effective and Emppu shines!
While Your Lips Are Still Red at Wembly is one song where Floor is Marco's backup vocals. Also, Marco is lead on The Islander at Tempere. Love both of these songs.
Singing that high for that long with that much passion and dynamics and her voice never breaks or shakes or cracks or anything. It's fucking unbelievable. Been listening go music for 30+ years and she is absolutely stunning. Once in a generation stage talent. Yeah you can get voices like that in the studio with 100 takes and a ton of editing and EQ and everything else. But live? Fucking hell.

I guess quality is quality whatever your age.... I don't think you know yet, but Marco the Bassist and singer left the band not so long ago. It was quite a shock all over the Army. An open letter was posted by him. We hope he'll come back later.
I think it was more of a press release. 'An open letter' is a loaded discription in the Nightwish history. But yes what a shock it realy is (still). By the way, respect Frank WD.
Anastasia, I dont know if you caught it, but at 9:30 of your reaction, it is the bridge with just Floor and Jukka. Never before, in my life, had I ever heard just a vocalist and drummer put together such an emotional build and peak -- that is, until I heard Floor and Jukka (pronounced yoo•ka) do that here. When I first heard Ever Dream, and I felt that raw emotion from them, I had goosebumps -- because I had never heard any song about falling in love like Ever Dream. I don't know about you, but when I hear this song, I hear Floor sing almost desperately, while Jukka's drumming is frantic -- until the double-kick drums engage at full speed. And then, Floor doesnt slow down with her power -- she amps it up to another level. I say these things because with Floor, it's not just about the notes she sings, it's about the pressure and volume of her vocals. It's why she has that "storytelling" feel to them, and why she sounds as good as she does. And that level of control is not something she learned overnight -- from what I've heard and read, it took her a long time to hone that level of skill, even after she suffered the burnout she did, before joining Nightwish in 2012. It's also why, if you get the chance to, react to Ghost Love Score, Buenos Aires, 2012 -- and you'll notice how much emotion she projects with her voice. In that performance, she seems almost unsure of herself, but the ending is so pure, it brings tears to my eyes, as Ever Dream does here.
Floor has a a few singing lessons on her youtube chanal. Masterclass 3 or 4 videos meby you could get some inspiration. they have 2 songs where he leads and where Floor is backing him. one from Tampare ( the islander ) and the other one from Wembley ( while your lips are still red. ) but also Ghost River the song performed just before Everdream. Has Marco doing a lot of singing. A lot! and so has. I wish i had an Angel.

I'm much like you in my Nightwish journey. I was a Tarja and Nightwish fan in the early-mid 2000s, but my interest in them died out during the years with Annette. When Floor joined I don't think I even noticed, I was paying attention to other symphonic metal bands. Epica, Edenbridge, Delain, Xandria, Dark Sarah, and more. When Floor's first album was released I think I must have heard Elan (the first single off their first album with her) - but I didn't give it as much of a chance. I never knew about Showtime Storytime, which is the recording of the Wacken 2013 concert. But via RUclips reactions I finally heard Ghost Love Score at Wacken, with Floor, and that is when I woke up. I said, wait a minute, this is incredible. I asked myself, where have I been? And like you I went down the rabbit hole, listening to Storytime, Everdream, Dark Chest of Wonders, She is my Sin (you have to hear She is my Sin, for me that is/was the quintessential Tarja track).
Floor is phenomenal. I am and will always be a Tarja fan, but for me personally I enjoy Floor more. I love her diversity and power. Tarja did one thing and she did that one thing great, like noone else (the operatic style). But that's basically all she did with Nightwish. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking Tarja, I love her. But Floor brings more of a metal edge that I love and appreciate.
I'm having fun watching your own Nightwish journey. I can't wait until you get to Floor's performances on the show Beste Zangers! Personally I would recommend listening to those songs in the order in which they appeared on the show, but whatever path you take into those, it's going to be incredible
every song she sings is a masterclass, Floor has said its her job to take words on paper and give them meaning.

Great reaction, I liked your enthusiasm. For me the best performance of Marko as a singer is " high hopes", also "the islander" is a great one, both are softer songs. For a great song made for him.. "endlessness" from the last album, this one is a little heavier. And for a catchy song with both of them "Ghost river", on the heavy side. Stay safe 🤘😁🤘

Yes! Thinking about "what would ** do here" is helpful when practising. I wish I could "channel" Tuomas into my piano playing more! and Marko singing! Marko sings "High Hopes" the Nightwish tribute to Pink Floyd! Tuomas keeps it simple but effective and Emppu shines!
While Your Lips Are Still Red at Wembly is one song where Floor is Marco's backup vocals. Also, Marco is lead on The Islander at Tempere. Love both of these songs.

It's fucking unbelievable. Been listening go music for 30+ years and she is absolutely stunning. Once in a generation stage talent. Yeah you can get voices like that in the studio with 100 takes and a ton of editing and EQ and everything else. But live? Fucking hell.

Anastasia, I dont know if you caught it, but at 9:30 of your reaction, it is the bridge with just Floor and Jukka. Never before, in my life, had I ever heard just a vocalist and drummer put together such an emotional build and peak -- that is, until I heard Floor and Jukka (pronounced yoo•ka) do that here. When I first heard Ever Dream, and I felt that raw emotion from them, I had goosebumps -- because I had never heard any song about falling in love like Ever Dream. I don't know about you, but when I hear this song, I hear Floor sing almost desperately, while Jukka's drumming is frantic -- until the double-kick drums engage at full speed. And then, Floor doesnt slow down with her power -- she amps it up to another level.
I say these things because with Floor, it's not just about the notes she sings, it's about the pressure and volume of her vocals. It's why she has that "storytelling" feel to them, and why she sounds as good as she does. And that level of control is not something she learned overnight -- from what I've heard and read, it took her a long time to hone that level of skill, even after she suffered the burnout she did, before joining Nightwish in 2012. It's also why, if you get the chance to, react to Ghost Love Score, Buenos Aires, 2012 -- and you'll notice how much emotion she projects with her voice. In that performance, she seems almost unsure of herself, but the ending is so pure, it brings tears to my eyes, as Ever Dream does here.

Floor has a a few singing lessons on her youtube chanal. Masterclass 3 or 4 videos meby you could get some inspiration. they have 2 songs where he leads and where Floor is backing him. one from Tampare ( the islander ) and the other one from Wembley ( while your lips are still red. ) but also Ghost River the song performed just before Everdream. Has Marco doing a lot of singing. A lot! and so has. I wish i had an Angel.
Also, Floor explains in her "reaction" to Ghost Love Score a bit of what's going on within her head and why she makes certain choices.
