:grins: Aye, that's one of those quotes that carries the core of truth in its heart :) I'm a guitar player but my father was a singer, so I have always appreciated the vocalists craft but there are not many that bring me to tears with the beauty of their voice. If someone were to ask who I thought the greatest rock female vocalist was, I'd probably say Anne Wilson ... but that might be because she enchanted me when I was 17 and I didn't meet Floor until I was in my 50's :)
Marko and Floor match made in heaven. Seven days to the wolves, song of myself, weak fantasy or devil in the deep dark ocean all showcase their voices again. Thanks for the reaction, hope you have a comfy chair in that corner as you spend a lot of time there 😊🇬🇧
As you like good guitar solo’s you could dive in the deep rabbit hole of Ayreon and start with the video The Day That The World Breaks Down with 11 of the best metal singers.
The ESP EV-1 is Emppu' s custom model. Emppu Vuorinen. Emppu uses his solos' to sing the melodies of the vocal lines. Most of the time. Occasionally he get to let loose, but still tastefully.
If you would like to hear Marko at his finest, watch the Nightwish tribute to Pink Floyd - High Hopes from the End of an Era concert. It was Tarja's last performance with the band (unbeknown to her), and when she went off for a costume change the boys performed this song, with Marko on vocals. It is an incredible performance, brimming with the emotion of the night, and showcases the bands talents very well. David Gilmour himself called it his "favourite Pink Floyd cover".
Just subscribed so I can follow you on your Nightwish journey. The bass player/male vocalist is Marko Hietala. He has had a long and successful career, starting from before Nightwish ever existed and is greatly respected in Finland as one of the founders of the Finnish metal scene. You will hear more from him as your journey continues. A good introduction to the depth of his talent would be the tribute that Nightwish did for Pink Floyd's "High Hopes," from the End of an Era concert. He also has a wide and varied catalog outside of Nightwish.
MARKO! (The bass player) is a vocal god in his own right. He once said in an interview that he loves to sing with Floor because he doesn’t have to hold back. ❤
" Ever Dream " is the sixth single by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Released as the first single from the band's fourth studio album, Century Child, it was the group's first single in two years, following " Deep Silent Complete " in 2000. The song is more operatic in nature than later works and the music itself is more on the heavy metal side. It is still played live since 2002 until today. "Ever Dream" was certified with Gold Disc in Finland two days after its release, with more than 5,000 copies sold, and later received Platinum Disc with more than 10,000 copies sold.
I would also add to other suggestions Kiss While Your Lips are Still Red at Wembley for Marco singing, also with Exit Eden ("Run"), The Gathering with Delain, Ave Maria with Floor, The Phantom of the Opera with Tarja
True. Emppu's guitar solos are exactly as they should be within the song. Never overdoing it just to be badass. Only tasteful solos. And that's how I see every member of Nightwish. Very perfectionistic and professional, but still having the most of fun together doing it. It sucks when bandmembers leave the band, but with a band that exists almost 30 years it's not really surprising imo. I still miss Marko though.
You like Marco and Floor together...try "Ghost River", "Seven days to the Wolfes", or "Song of Myself". If you want to hear a Ballad, try "Sleeping Sun"...
If they come over, go and see hem buddy. I saw them just before she got pregnant and that was a blast. I,m gonna see het again at the forth of July with Anne van Giersbergen,. (check her too: little suggestion here) at the old royal palace in the Netherlands in a garden concert. Just can't wait.
If You really want to feel the synergy between Floor and Marko, You should watch the Devil and the deep dark Ocean. Every other Floor's verse have a different style to it, ranging from brealthless calls for help to inhuman slides smoother than glass. It's one of the most theatrical pieces they ever created
One of my favorite metal love songs but I would love to see Tuomas and Floor sit down at a piano and give us the ballad they teased us with. Like Floor and Troye did with How's The Heart? and Nemo, just voice and guitar
One thing about the guitar solos... He usually reiterates the lyrics in the same key and the same notes. Its reiteration. Far more impactful then just shredding nonsense over the beat. He does the exact same thing that the singer just sang. This song isn't the best example of that but most of their sings its reiteration.
Empuu reminds me of sinister gates from avenged 7x, in that they can make the guitar sing, cry, and make you feel things, and of course they can shred when they need to
❤ Great Choice ❤ If you want to hear more from Marco (bass player), try their tribute to Pink Floyd with the song: High Hopes (link of this performance within the list of Gabriel Bardac) ‼️🏆👍
People debate all the time who's the best Nightwish vocalist among Tarja, Anette and Floor. True fans know that it's Marco! PS. Take a look of their official "Phantom of the opera" performance. It's a masterpiece!
@@jeeeeeeright I tend to waffle back and forth on those two versions, I was just wanting him to know that there are two live versions and if he wants Marco then he needs 2005.
“….from the bass player”?? Put some respect on his name lmao that is Marko Hietala, Viking God of our Army and also absolutely phenomenal in his own right. He chooses to be second vocals, but he can, does now since he left, and before he joined Nightwish, was the frontman of his own bands. Nightwish at one point was blessed with three incredibly talented singers in the band together, Floor, Marko, and Troy. Now they have two, only because Jukka, the new bassist, has declined to sing with Nightwish so far even though he does have a wonderful voice.
even if you went to see them live at the next opportunity, you will not come close to the experience this live recording captured. this performance is over a decade old and floor was in her absolute vocal prime there. she still is amazing. but in comparison to her own self in her own prime, well, voices mature. even though her voice matures uncommonly well. also marco left the band. and the absence of his vocals in the songs he usually sang in is beyond noticeable. do not get me wrong. the band and floor are still simply fantastic. but do not go to one of their shows expecting to get what the wacken 2013 audience got. because you will not. floor was at the height of her vocal powers at that time and even for that standard she surpassed herself that night.
"She can sing me to death."
But what a way to go! 🤘
Somewhere on RUclips she sings the phone book, yes, you read that right. And it was great.

Emppu plays what song needs, not to show what he can do. They all work for the song, not for shining alone. And that is part of the magic I think.
Empuu Vuorinen, Nightwish guitarist, plays ESP EV-1 guitars, the EV is referring to him.
For a more shreddy solo try Romanticide at this same show.

The finale of this song feels like being strapped to a superbike with endless gears. Such an awesome piece of music.

Floor is absolutely one of the most insane singers
And Marco's no slouch either!

"She can sing me to death" yep, the Siren will do that!!!

Nightwish fans have been spoiled having two of the greatest voices on stage for so long.......I'm hoping Marko comes back for one more tour.
If he does , i'm instantly buying tickets for both the show in Netherlands and in Belgium
One thing about Nightwish is If you are thinking about music then This is how you rock out
2:05 well, she did say "START a little softer".. 😂
Hahahahaha....listen to HER thoroughly.........SHE said: ....we gonna start a little bit softer.....
Hahaha I concur
That drummers going to start his drumsticks on fire in the last minute of that song…lol

If yo want to see what Marko can do with Nightwish, look for the High Hopes pink floyd cover, or a song called The Islander. he is great solo as well.
Best singer ever 😃
Nightwish has had an incredible run of vocalists, Tarja, Marko, Annette, and Floor.
Jukka, back there, beating those drums like the owe him money.
As you would undoubtedly know by now,the EV 1 is indeed named after Emppu Vuorinen, the guitarist in Nightwish.Marco,,the bassist plays Warwick basses.
An overlooked song of hers is her cover of Oblivion by m83 she did during covid from her home studio.its one of my favorites of her solo stuff
EV stands for Emppu Vuorinen aka guitarist, it's his signature guitar :)
I just watched all of your Nightwish reactions in order :D Welcome aboard!
There is just no one better than Floor 😍😎
I would also add to other suggestions Kiss While Your Lips are Still Red at Wembley for Marco singing, also with Exit Eden ("Run"), The Gathering with Delain, Ave Maria with Floor, The Phantom of the Opera with Tarja
No competition! It’s unfair!🤘🎸For more Marko vocals check out High Hopes from End of an Era.
i concur
For more Marco, you should check out his band Tarot, for example the song "Tides" from Undead Indeed.
Very beautiful thank you

Most musical rock/metal/symphonic band in the world.
Good one.
death.... and back again! FOR MORE!
I've seen them, they are awesome. what else can i say 😆
Big shout out to Jukka on the drums!
if you want a soft song from Nightwish ,do slow love slow...the original is by Anette ,but Floor also did a version
You like Marco and Floor together...try "Ghost River", "Seven days to the Wolfes", or "Song of Myself". If you want to hear a Ballad, try "Sleeping Sun"...
You are just one continous Floorgasm, I like it.
🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done again gp
Finns just do many many things with quality🤟👌
Try Nightwish Sleeping Sun live show at Tampere,Finland 2015, awesome 😎 or the Masters of Rock live show
Emppu is an exclusive artist for ESP, the EV series is his signature, Emppu Vuorinen.
Always awesome!
You might have to settle with one of Floor's solo live concerts - until Nightwish hits the next world tour.
But I guess you can survive that😂
The EV1... I fucking love that thing... You and me both mate lol
She gives soul jobs.
I think it's quite possible that she actually will sing you to death in Yours Is An Empty Hope. If not, your mind will certainly be blown asunder.
Great comments on empu; to get a bit more of his "shred" / guitar skills, check out (if you haven't already) romantcide & Gethsemane.
If You really want to feel the synergy between Floor and Marko, You should watch the Devil and the deep dark Ocean.

Still think you check out Yours is an Empty Hope. live at Wembley the harmony is insane.

There's definitely a zombie in that crowd but he's dressed like Hunter S. Thompson, I believe people call him Hat Man.
He may not be dead, but he's got to be deaf.

Me to😅😊
If you want hear Empu shreddy-rippy, try "Wishmaster", an early song!
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
Marko ìs an accomplished vocalist

With Marco is the 2005 version, the 2022 version is Floor and Henk Poort.
@@ganggreen9012 I will get hate for this, but the best version is the one with Tarja and Marco.
@@jeeeeeeright I tend to waffle back and forth on those two versions, I was just wanting him to know that there are two live versions and if he wants Marco then he needs 2005.
Why did they choose Floor as the lead singer? If Marko is the better singer!
You're easily triggered :D There's always someone that just don't get it ;)@@normenneulich1952
Guitar an EV? Emppu Vuorinen, of course
She can sing me all the way to Walhalla or Sovngarde.
The original Nightwish Band with Toumas Holopainen Keybord Empu Vuirinen Gitarr Tarja Turunen Vocal s and samy wanka Bass
Try Floor singing the phone book.😉🤘

Can't blame him: who wants to be compared to Marko for the next ten years?
New Subscriber here just coz of Queen Floor Nightwish... Keep going and please check out Romanticide song by Nightwish Wacken
If you want "shreddy-rippy": ROMANTICIDE 😁😈
Already done , loved it

And Marko cant go as high as he used to back in Tarot
Empu contributes to the song instead for absurd complex solos
