Frau Petersen ist eine grandiose Marie/Marietta. Welch ein erhabenes kostbares Timbre! Eine "weibliche" cremige Stimme. Eine hervorragende Technik und eine "Wortdeutlichkeit" und "Sinngebung" wie es im Buche steht. Über die Kleidung und Haarpracht muss man sich nicht aufhalten. Zum Glück könnte Frau Petersen auch einen Jutesack tragen und sie wäre immer noch sehr "hübsch" anzusehen!!! Leider gibt es Heute keine Partner auf "Ihrem" Niveau. Der Tenor "bemüht" sich, sein "Bestes" zu geben und das muss man anerkennen! Auch ist die Tenorrolle ebenso wie die Sopranrolle sehr schwer zu singen. Auch Jonas Kaufmann ist ein viel zu laut und angestrengt "singender" Paul (singen in Anführungszeichen, da ich dies nicht als das ansehe). Auch besitzt er keine "Tiefe" in der Interpretation, alles tönt immer gleich und ohne "Phantasie". Wie grossartig es wäre, wenn die wunderbare Künstlerin Marlis Petersen mit "RICHARD TAUBER" gesungen hätte. Was für eine Sternstunde das gewesen wäre!!!!!! Man kann dies auf Schallplatte oder CD mit der ebenfalls wunderbaren Sängerin Lotte Lehmann nachprüfen. Dieser Sänger hatte auch eine immense "Musikalität", die unvergleichlich war! Ja, er war durch und durch ein Musiker, Sänger und Dirigent und auch komponierte er. Das wunderbare Tenorlied "Du bist die Welt für mich" wurde von ihm komponiert und gesungen. Nur Rudolf Schock hat es auf seine Weise ebenfalls sensationell zu Herzen gehend gesungen.
So now she’s a dramatic soprano in german roles? Of course not. She was a lyric soprano with great coloratura now getting older and have nothing to loose. She’s not a jugendlicher dramatischer soprano even if they going to give her those roles in the future.
She sings it beautifully with her lyric voice but i hope she will be carefully with these heavy roles, her voice could be damaged seriously. The tenor - I'm sorry - is one of the most bad ones, i have heard in my life. He presses the notes, is horribly out of tune with heavy pitch problems. Everything is far too low pitched. It's painful to listen to.
@@gslazar , Poland is a country with a rich tradition of very good singers. But this tenor is really pure horror, it's not a question of a bad day. You can clearly hear that everything is wrong. Bad idea to cast him. Shit happens.

While not the best singing I've ever heard, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written, at least for me.

Another tenor was originally booked but apparently management bowed to political pressure to have a Polish tenor.
