Built Engine, stroked to a 2.1L and Turbo...!! This will be interesting!
the fa20 is so expensive to make power :(
Thanks I've been waiting for your formula great system
Nice! I’m glad that both our builds are aiming for similar goals , can’t wait for both ours to run and dominate the track!
YES!!! You are the man! Good luck with the build!! I love the FA20 and I love seeing them be awesome!
Ok ruclips.net/video/-jDrkEEK99E/видео.html
Thank you for putting this much effort in the FA20. Most people the world over gave up on it. I am learning as I go along.
He ditched it btw
Dude i remember following you on your first videos, just you and your buddy going to track days, a few exhaust upgrades wheels and tires. Def come along way 🤘
Thank you 🙏
This is awesome... Leading the way yo the FA20 full potential
Good stuff bro! Excellent breakdown! Subbed!
Its looking good
video entertained me while I was on the toilet so I subbed
That’s all I’m here to do. Toilet entertainment.
Been waiting!!!

Nice Build. Mine is almost exactly like yours. Carrillo 10:5 1 Beehive Nitrided Valve Springs,Kingbearings, Piper Cams 285 Ultimate Road, Red Intake, Stage 4 Closed Deck FA20 2.0, Toda Racing Oil Pump, ARP Studs, Anti Starvation Oil Sump. E85. Next is EFR 7670, custom quad exhaust(Ceramic Coated/Wrapped) Extra large Racing Radiator with built in twin fans. Saving up for sequential tranny. 1700cc Injectors. I’m breaking in engine with headers/NA. What a midrange it has. Love your build.
This has taken almost two years for me so far.
That’s a really good build list. Congratulations on a cool build
I hit pause the moment he said Boost.
Yes, I know Supercharging and Turbocharging is the easy way to make horsepower. That's why EVERYBODY is boosting the FA20. But not every racing class allows boost, some only allow naturally aspirated (no nitrous) stock block engines and it would be amazing to see who is making NA work and how they are doing it. I only seem to find engine builds that prep for forced induction.
I wish you well with your time attack FR-S - the 86 is a great platform, have fun!
This is an awesome build but I'm really concerned about the heat from the header that will undoubtedly heat up the oil in the dry sump and also impact the lower portion of the dry sump unit (the lower "cog" where the belt is going to be). Following this closely to see how everything holds up - hopefully nothing goes wrong after such a commitment. Keep updating and thanks!
My manifold is ceramic coated and inconel wrapped and supposedly the location of the manifold is not a concern according to a source at Dailey Engineering. With that being said, I will definitely keep the channel updated with the results!
its way too close especially with turbocharger things wont last very long with the location imo. Other than that its inspiring!
The video I've been waiting for ! Tempting me to build a spare motor 🤣
You definitely should! I wish I had a spare motor built and ready to go. Will possibly do that after this one gets up and running.
@@OrenHolzman my motor build holding up well so far 🤞
you forgot to mention the reason you kept the FA :( SUBBED THO
Finally, buuuuuut I guess I'll eventually follow the traditional route of switching from supercharger to turbo😂 Don't have much access to E85 so 92 octane is my only option. Guess we'll see how much boost I can throw at my 10:1 CR Built FA20 until the switch😅 Still interested in your build and will pay close attention. Keep up the great work and thank you.
Switching from sc to turbo seems to be the trend for 86 owners. I planned on going supercharger when I first bought the car lol.
Legit question as someone interested in SCing my 86... why switch to turbo? I enjoyed my previous turbo car, but why not SC this particular model? Or switch from SC to a turbo?
Supercharged individuals soon find out on their quest for more power that you reach a point where your gains from a turbo will go further then a supercharger. Edelbrock does not provide a larger blower to increase power so I will rock ~15psi possibly upping to ~20psi once my block has been swapped. I thoroughly enjoyed and will continue to enjoy my supercharger, but with a built 10:1 compression ratio block, I can't maximize its capabilities with Edelbrock's SC option as well as a turbo can. With my stock motor I loved the power so please don't let my opinions cloud or influence your judgment.
is there a reason why you would switch to a turbo besides it being a little bit more efficient?
@@charleyssss I responded to another individual on this⬆️⬆️⬆️
If this motor puts good power down, you will run into Jackie Ding sooner or later! I think the GT86 chassis is better than the Supra
Congrats bro! What rocker arms did you go with? Did the dry sump eliminate the need for AOS system, or are you still running the VERUS AOS?
If I’m being honest, I’m not sure what rocker arms D sport ended up using. I know the stock ones are a weak point for the stock FA20. The dry sump eliminates the need for an AOS but I may need to run a catch can. Will post an update in a later video.
I'm going closed deck on mine, supercharged (vortech), e85, having a built transmission (may switch to sequential). Can I get a parts list by chance? Especially for the dry sump. No idea they made a lot for it.
Man, I really hope this engine works out for you! Hopefully you'll get many years of trouble free track days. What is your target laptime for GTA at BW? Hopefully you'll have time to shake the car down a bit first. Was that the motor that was gonna go in Alex Jackson's car?
Fingers crossed... The goal is to be competitive which means I’m aiming for the low 1:50s. I will hopefully have one or two track days before if everything goes as planned. This motor was not from Alex’s car but the dry sump is.
Excellent work. How much do all these upgrades coat?
An arm and a head
@@yourfather5324 ha!
How much is it for all of this total? I’ve looked at some builds and they are really pricey.
Nice video man. Question, did you keep the stock cams? Building a similar engine and can’t decide if I should upgrade the cams.
I kept stock cams. I’m not sure if upgraded cams are worth the extra cost. You don’t see many built FA20s with upgraded cams.
Oren Holzman Racing good point. What kinda numbers did you end up putting down? And do you have the turbo kit info available? Thanks!
👍🏼👏🏼
There is no video on the Toda Racing 2.3 litre stroker kit
Hey are those headlights worth it? Are they bright? Which brand are they?
Are you running the stock differential?
Finally got around to watching this video, but by this point you are building a K24. What happened with this engine, and what'd you do w/the dry sump system?
Up for sale
What’s the estimated cost that you threw into this built?
What model ati damper is that?
Why ati super damper and not fluidamper?
It was the damper that came with the dry sump. You can’t go wrong with either though.
I would probably say just go ahead and throw on a SB stage 3. I know people that have smoked stage 2s and are running a good bit less power than you will be pushing
The painful part is I have to order a custom clutch due to the CD09 trans. If the clutch slips I will order one.
Oren Holzman Racing doesn’t maxworx have options for some puck clutches when you build out a trans
Rich
No just not financially responsible
💰
What the hell is a dry sump I’ve never heard of it what does it do why do you have it on the car
Why not the FA 24
Because why would you buy a new brz just to take the motor out
Direct injection turbo motors are garbage!!!
Good thing this motor has direct and port injection
