Love the country, love the region, love the people. Love the whiskies ;) We spent 3 weeks around Aviemore 2 years ago. It was a blast. We'll do it again, hopefully sooner than later.
Fantastic video. I love your laid back, no hype presentation style Scotty. My ancestors are from Caithness and I am itching to get out to Scotland for a mix of MTBing and family tree exploration. Keep up the great work - I find your videos so inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
That's a nice mtb ride! 5 years ago, I've been to Scotland and the Cairngorms, I did a hike near Braemar. Absolutely stunning scenery. Hopefully we can travel to nice destinations soon
What a brilliant edit. As an amateur MTB vlogger content like this gives me so many ideas. The balance of content is excellent, super-engaging. And of course the riding is great. Keep em coming 👍
Such a sic ride mate. Like all your vids even in the gmbn days. Ride on ride safe look forward too your next adventure. Merry Xmas 🎄 🍻 bring on 2021🤙😎🇦🇺
Scotty this video is awesome , suggestion for the video to satisfy my tech nerd , at the start when you talked about checking the bike , it would be awesome if you talked us through the bike (model/spec) and the reasons you chose certain components (clips , tyres ect.) Would be sick
Midges are less of an issue if you keep moving. They don't fly that fast. When I cycled from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock/Uluru a couple of years back, people asked me about the flies, and I just said - I can cycle faster than they fly - No problem!
That trail from Ben Macdui down to Hutchison bothy is awesome and quite tech, though I wouldn't recommend doing it on a kids hardtail like I did last summer on a five day solo bike and camp. I have since got myself a full sus and am so looking forward to getting back into the cairngorms next summer for some more riding.
As a hill-walker I enjoyed this video a lot more than I expected - thanks very much. By the way, at 9.28 that wasn't a river - it was a burn! Big difference! Nice to see you drinking fresh burn water at 11.50 too, I've been drinking burn water all my life - it's so good providing you're careful. Finally, when you do your little safety bit at the end, could you remind cyclists to be considerate to hill-walkers, as I've been frightened a number of times by bike riders whizzing past at a great rate of knots, expecting me to jump out the way.
@@ScottyLaughland is it the Ultimate? I think I see a wired shift system in the video? Lovely bike and on my wishlist! However, don’t know which type to choose yet.
Gotcha. Thanks for that! It’s a great loop, you could maybe ALMOST manage it in a day if your carefully mapped it and started early! Next summer goals...
Did this route today from Braemar to aviemore there is about 6 miles which is not ridable,I would not say it hiker biking but a lot off pushing over massive boulders which you can’t get any flow, There is only one good descent at the end which is really not worth all the climbing, after the descent it’s a steady 10 miles to aviemore, not a route for an average rider

Another extraordinary video, the landscape is stunning, and so are the trails. Was fun watching!
Thank you, glad you’ve enjoyed it! Hope to bring you more this summer!!
This is awesome Scotty, this is exactl what I enjoy doing as well
This is absolutely brilliant mate, if this madness ever ends, I'd love to come up and have a ride with you! These trails look insane!
They are certainly worth the trip for just try and plan it for good weather as they're all the more special! :)

Fantastic video! Can’t wait for summer to come back, Scotland on a good day really is something special.
You said it alright! Here’s hoping for a summer like that in 2021...
These bikes can take riders to the paradise!!
Have just read the write up you did in MBUK on this ride so I am back again to re-watch it! Mega scenes looked an awesome few days out
Ahh stoked to hear that! It was amazing, couldn’t recommend it enough...

We'll do it again, hopefully sooner than later.
There's a lot to love about this area, I don't think you can really beat it so many variations and plenty more to be explored!
Fantastic. Amazing the stuff I've got almost on my door step that I've never had the time to explore.
Get to it in 2021!

That's a recipe for perfect weekend. Brilliant adventure! 👊👌
True that!
What a stunning ride. Adding this to my bucket list :)
It should be on there just try and get the weather!
Scotty Laughland I am actually more worried about midges than weather :)
Awesome trip! Makes me wanna bike in Scotland one day even more..!
That’s good to hear!

Thank you man, I want to do more of them next year!
Great video😃
I've been eying the trail down from Ben Macdui for a wee while...
Better get up there, it’s 100% worth it!!
Great video! Very nicely filmed !!!
Thank you! :)
Enjoyed 🥰
Awesome video, should of shown you guys having a few Brewskis of an evening!
Ahh we meant too but got carried away with it and enjoyed the moment...

Absolutely stunning....and no midges 👌
Perfectly timed!

@@360scotland4 are you trying to educate a couple of Scottish mountain bikers on midges 🤔
@@bazbroon LOL no, comments posted on here are visible to anyone watching the video, some of whom live in other countries.
@@360scotland4 i was only joking mate, yeah I’m sure lots of people have still to experience the delightful midge 😬
might move to scotland for november that dust looks brilliant
Hmm, except this was filmed in October! Haha!!
Think we bumped into you up Corie lair,
👍
Maybe we did!

I kinda miss you in gmbn dude. Ride on!! 🤟🏽

Thank you for the positive comment! Yes of course next time I’ll mention that, most people I know will always stop say hello and try to be polite!
SICK
Nice video
Mate , I need more freetime to ride and hopefully this lockdown will over as soon , as possible, so we can enjoy the life more 🤘🤩
Nice country and great video. Where are all the trees? Is it to high for them to grow?
I think too ‘alpine’ and Barron. The top of the hills are generally a bit of a peat bog!!
It's no an overnighter if you stay in a hotel 🤣🤣
But did I? 😆
Hello 👋. Great video. Very inspirational. What bike is that please?
Bike is a SCOTT Spark Ultimate!
@@ScottyLaughland is it the Ultimate? I think I see a wired shift system in the video?
Lovely bike and on my wishlist! However, don’t know which type to choose yet.
Great vid. What bike did you ride?
The SCOTT Spark Ultimate!
Cool video. I am originally from Tomintoul but will have to go back to do this route. Avon is pronounced A'an, as in the girls name if that helps 😁
Gotcha. Thanks for that! It’s a great loop, you could maybe ALMOST manage it in a day if your carefully mapped it and started early! Next summer goals...
Fantastic video Scotty, def added to do list. What bike did you use for this ride?
Here I was riding the SCOTT Spark ultimate! 120mm 29-er, a All Mountain or Enduro bike would also be awesome...
@@ScottyLaughland nice, thanks!
Man can you tell where can I find glasses like yours? 😁
I’d recommend checking with your local SCOTT dealer you’ll find all the information on their page...
Can you do a weekly video 😆
Nice glasses, where’s you get from ?
They are from SCOTT. Check their website...
This looks awesome man! How much was the accom ?
Cheers
Varies from £80 all the way up! Plenty of it if you book in advance...
You can easily check accom prices on Booking.com and then phone places direct to ask for a better price.
What time of year was this? I see no midges and I'm confused
This was in the middle of September!
Awesome video! What CO2 cartridges do you bring? 25 gram?
Thanks
25g ones from PRO!
@@ScottyLaughland Okay. Thanks, ride hard and rest well!
reminds me ppl in wheelchairs can't experience stuff like this
Dalby forrest mate north yorkshire its epic
Never been! There’s just so much to explore still…
Im planning to go on my new scott genius is that a good bike for these trails cheers
Nice video - but remember, Loch Avon is pronounced Loch 'Ann' :)

Incredible country, shame the locals are so hostile toward outsiders
Utter rubbish. Scotland is incredibly welcoming unless you're a tory.
I don’t believe we aren’t welcoming, I’d say the opposite! Most want to show off how beautiful our country is...
can i get that bike you ride?😅
your lukcy person
bore
What is?
