This was awesome. This is what I think mountain biking is all about. Exploring nature. Totally inspired me to revisit some of the trails in the Carpathian Mountains which we rode as kids, but now on a much much better and more suitable bike.
Me and my brother just finished Binnein Mor from Kinlochleven after seeing this. What a ride… hiking a bike on your back up a mountain is weirdly fulfilling. Snow on the ground for the ridge lines and got lucky with blue sky at the top which made it even more epic. Most remote I’ve ever felt in Scotland! The decent was pretty gnarly with the tight switch backs, then some proper downhill stuff. Love your videos Scotty! They make me just want to get out there, explore and ride 😆
Scotty! That was simply stunning! Exactly my idea of adventure! Love the camerawork and especially the drone footage! Keep them coming! All the best, Adrian
Scotty, been following your videos for years and this is nothing short of amazing. It's honestly a testament to who you are as a rider. The videography and audio mixing is spectacular. Honestly thank you for sharing this, it's so motivating for me as a rider watching you do what you do!
Thank you Robert! Really appreciate the following, support and kind comment. I think you’re going to enjoy the next couple of episodes as well! ✌️ Scotty
@@ScottyLaughland Can't wait to watch them! Just out of curiosity, what resolution, frame rate and view are you using on the GoPro for your first person recording? You nail it every time!
An epic journey for a 2 dayer, great video and an invaluable learning experience for yourself I would think...congrats to you and your cameraman for showing how to improvise and adjust to the circumstances as conditions dictate 👍look forward to your next epic 🚵
Thank you Trevor! It was a great experience, challenging of course at times but great memories of hardship mixed with satisfaction and what a way to discover more of Scotland!
Epic ride! An excellent and nicely produced video showing my local area. I live in Kinloch Rannoch and have cycled to Corrour a few times on the 'road to the isles'. I had a big day out last summer starting at Rannoch station up to Corrour, down to Loch Trieg then across to the Blackwater reservoir. Up to Black Corries lodge and back over Rannoch Moor to Rannoch Station, it was as much pushing as riding, a bit like your video..! Day 2 looked like a tough day for you..
Thanks Ian! I've similarly ridden in that area as well on a Gravel Bike and it is brilliant - I'd love to explore it some more and there's something very special about Corrour Station except for the midges, they're brutal! 😂
What an epic...not sure how you slept in basically a big sock ha!! But those views make such an adventure worth it 😍🤙 unreal riding btw...make those ridgeline descents look easy
I’ll be honest wasn’t the best nights sleep I’ve ever had! Thanks tho, there was some good stuff in there just wish it would connect a little more together!!
Thanks Skotty and Rob, great job. I can truly appreciate how much effort you guy's made to create this relatively short video. I'm already looking forward to your next adventure. I think it would be realy good if you could do a follow up video covering the making of you're content throughout the season?? Cheers 👍
Lots of kudos to you. Some of those sections are difficult enough walking bagging munros never mind biking. I will be heading to corrour this year for some adventures on the bike and have taken alot of learning from this vid.
That was an epic but tough looking adventure 👀. I'm not sure the reward of that route was worth the pain 😂. More the mental side, cold, wet and those f#c&ing midges 🤬. I'll wait for your 1 day epics 🙏👌
You’re not far wrong there but it was an unknown and for the sections we did get to ride they ruled!! Stoked to have done it… Not sure I would again though! 😂
Awesome video again Scotty. Breathtaking scenery. Solid endurance from you given the tough terrain. With the amount of rocks on the trail I'm sure you had a fair share of punctures?
Thanks David - it was a mission at times! Made worse by not just riding it but documenting it too… No punctures actually! Quite amazing really - we didn’t in fact at all in filming the series. Carried around that inner tube and patch kit for nothing 😂
I used the Thule Rail 18l and had a Outdoor Research Bivvy, JetBoil, 3 x Meals, Garmin InReach, Water purifier, SCOTT Waterproof, SCOTT insuloft, Unior Multi Tool, Utility Knife, Tube, First Aid Kit, Sleeping Bag, as many energy bars as I could, £60 cash, one credit card, multiple GoPro's, batteries and mounts!
Know that area well having explored it on foot and a wee bit on bike. Admire your bike handling on those downhill sections and carrying on the uphills. Beautiful filmed to capture the spirit of the adventure. 👏👏👏
what about the camera guy?? i mean he had to the carry all the food, camping gear, etc AND the drone and camera (+ride safely in this hard terrain) , kudos to him
Maybe a flat pedal shoes would have been better? But the sole on the AM9’s are great for it. I didn’t slip one and were comfortable for the whole trip.
@@ScottyLaughland Good to hear. I always think can I walk out. Ditch the bike. It's expendable. I am not. I am really looking forward to the rest of your adventures. I have done similar on my own getting over a snapped femur. Ended up sheltered in a shed overnight. Epic memories.

Thank you! It’s amazing where bikes can really take you and what they’re truly capable of these days!!

Scenery, trails, level of riding, video quality, all absolutely outstanding 👍
Thank you mate! 🙏
Massive respect for pulling this off Scotty! Really enjoyed watching this adventure!
Thank you - got a couple of biggies up my sleeve to come yet!!
This is awesome! This form of mountain biking is SO much more interesting that the run of the mill shreddit
What a vlog! The Highlands are simply stunning.
Great to see a very skilled rider show the area off beautifully. Wonderful!
Thanks Jimbob! Stoked you enjoyed it!!

Epic, so beautiful, good advice too. You can never take the mountains for granted.
Thanks Stu! You can never be too prepared either… All good learning!!
Such a great vid Scotty...I've watched it twice.throughly enjoyed it...hats off to you for doing that epic ride..👍👍
Man that's awesome! Stoked you enjoyed it. Next epic is episode 5 and it's even bigger than this!!
Such a great video. Thank you for sharing. The scenery in the second half in particular is just beautiful. Stunning Scotland.
Thank you! Mamore Mountain Range and Glen Nevis is just an incredible part of the world!!
Well done!! Beautiful scenery!!

Thank you! It is such a sick bike for this terrain - so comfortable and capable!
Awesome video, epic riding, amazing scenery!
Thank you Eddie!

Scotty on a Scott bike in Scotland? Haha! Great trip!
You know it!
Great Video Series 😎👍🏼

Thanks 🙏 there’s other routes and variations that in hind sight might work better but the ridge lines deffo draw me to them!
Very nice 👍

Well done Scotty 👍
It must have been tough physically and mentally, but you did it
Did you take a coffee on arrival ????😁😁😁
Good job and video Scotty
Thanks James! It was the definition of an epic… No coffee straight to MacDonalds for everything imaginable!! 😂😂
I m surprised you didn’t get a flat tire. So pointed and sharp rocks
Awesome video again Scotty. Breathtaking scenery. Solid endurance from you given the tough terrain. With the amount of rocks on the trail I'm sure you had a fair share of punctures?

@@ScottyLaughland Nice, the backpack looked more like a 30L that I use in the winter. What time of year was that?

Enjoy the video 👌🏴🏴👌🚴
epic.
🙌
Great effort, great video mate! Where are your specs from?
Thank you 🙏 They’re the SCOTT Pro Sheilds!!
Safety first, never mind the satellite phone, never take your helmet off 😂
This is true blaming a bad hair day 💇♂️ or comfy helmet or maybe I just forgot?
Must have being a sketchy train journey and coffee to be wearing your lid, glasses
The Stego’s just that comfy 😜 I’m getting a roasting for this 😂
What’s the plan if you shredded your tyre casing? A tube has got me home, but couldn’t imagine doing 40-50k on that terrain.
We carried two tubes each! With the tire we’d put a wrapper in worst case. I ran Super Gravity casings for maximum protection…
you sat on the train with your helmet on.. .>))
The Stego helmet’s just that comfy! 😂
what about the camera guy?? i mean he had to the carry all the food, camping gear, etc AND the drone and camera (+ride safely in this hard terrain) , kudos to him
Word to that - he killed it! 🤙
Looking back do you think some 5/10 shoes would have been more fun and safer for your hike a bike sections?
Maybe a flat pedal shoes would have been better? But the sole on the AM9’s are great for it. I didn’t slip one and were comfortable for the whole trip.

Looked harrowing to be fair 🥴

🙌
i hope you aren't filming these in our current weather cause you'll end up as a ice sculpture!!
This was definetely a summer mission, filmed it in the middle of August!
@@ScottyLaughland haha definitely a better plan
