What are you trying to prove? Chongqing was built on a mountainous area a long time ago and many old buildings still remain with the old residents. They are used to living there and do not feel the need to move to other newer parts of the city. The younger generation has already moved out of these old houses. Soon there will be no old houses left either, except for a few worth preserving as historical monuments, similar to what happened with the hutongs in Beijing. In your video, you can see that many buildings have already been demolished, but the rubble has not been removed yet, because in such narrow alleys there is no possibility of mechanical demolition. All the work has to be done by hand. Old residents often cannot afford to buy modern apartments, so they wait until they are relocated when their old houses start to be demolished. Then they will receive compensation and new apartments. You deliberately forgot to mention this.
You are very arrogant in your comment, condescending to the person who made the video. '...What are "You" trying to prove? ....Why don't you go to China and make a video?...Yo give criticism from the comfort of your home to the maker of the video...but you have nothing to show!

Don’t kid yourself! China’s “reported” poverty rate last time it was reported was almost 25%. But you know you can’t believe anything the Communist part reports!! And anything under $5.50/day is “poor.” Taking into account actual prices, “poor” in America make less than $17.50/hr. That’s $140/day!
Perhaps... they are not poor. Maybe they have everything they need in these ruins, and have no desire to make money, modernize, or pursue consumerism. Rather, they prefer to continue on in quiet, if shabby, peace.
they are the WISE ones, creative, courageous, able to more than make do with what they can find and they have no mortgage, no rent. An example of ruins is Gaza, not that place.
Why are so many of the old buildings falling apart, is it earthquake damage? It seems like many of the buildings are built out of bricks or is that just the facade of them?
