You're not the only one with a bit of a COVID belly 🤣
Those tyres really do make a massive difference. The ones the ADF spec them with are a super firm compound, which means they last forever, but traction really suffers. Are you able to get rims for the Mog that allows you to run tubeless? That would be your next step, gives you a lot more room to move with tyre pressures.

Karl I completely agree, I bought a U1300L about 12 years ago....it was on a new set of those Michelin XZL beloved of militaries....on Salisbury plain (white chalk) they were fine, went everywhere a Challenger tank would go.....but I then moved to eastern Poland....Yellow Clay mixed with sand...dries blue of all colours.....They were terrible, would get no traction at all...So I bought a new set of locally made Michelin Power CL loader tyres....they are great, go anywhere. A mog off road should really be on chevrons. (my loader tyres are rated to something like 20 mph......I have run them for hours at 60-70kph and they don't even get hot....never lost any tread blocks etc.

Nice you haven't wheeled a mog if you didn't drive on 3 wheels 😅

    Ouch! Thats an expensive swing!
Do you think it is a worthy upgrade for the cost?
Also, do you know where that bullbar was sourced from?

It depends entirely what you do with your Mog, if you are going to drive on rough but mostly normal roads then stick to the Omnitracs, they're cheap. However, we tend to see where the truck will take us so need to have better tyres. I think he made the bullbar as he work in the metal fabricating industry.

Nice vid,did you notice much of a difference in top speed with the bigger tyres?I gotta swap my ones out at some stage.

What tyres are you running now? $1250 for a tyre sounds ‘cheap’ (relatively in Unimog world)

Advance 1400, they are around $1000 each, the rest was for tube and fitting.

I think it was custom made for the military, I could not find it online.

These tires are too skinny for a heavy truck like the Unimog.
