    We’ll done. I have seen quite a few of these side cabinets attached to the side like this. Perhaps US General should take note and do this in the factory. Great job and thank you for posting.

    This is awesome. i've never seen this combo. I've seen people double up the 5-drawer or I've seen them hang the side cart on the full-bank. This looks great. I hope it's still working for you!

      @@WorkingWithWimberley By any chance, do you know if on the 26" US general series 2 box, can you switch out some of the smaller depth drawers with the bigger ones? Like order replacement drawers and swap them? im liking the 26" and would defintely add the top chest but it just has too many small 3" drawers and would like to have at least 4-5 deep drawers. I would add the end cabinet too to complete the whole toolbox but then the width of the end cabinet is too small lol. Any ideas? thanks and awesome job on the mod bro looks super clean. Think you can do the same to the 34" 6 drawer? cuz I have one but would be pretty awesome to add an end cabinet to it haha

      I’ve actually received the same comment several times. I haven’t had any issues without adding wheels to the cabinet, but I’m sure you could if you wanted to.

    Does the edge of the tool cart handle the weight of the cabinet well or does it get slight bents on the edge of the cart where you hooked it up from the beginning? also awesome video

      It handles it totally fine. No bends on the edge of the cart from weight.

    I have a five drawer box for work and I was thinking of getting the side cabinet and welding them onto a plate of metal so the backs can be level along with making the opening into a cabinet and moving the wheels. To the corner of the plate since I use a forklift to bring my toolbox around

    I bought the same cabinet but I didn't cut my top. I mounted my side cabinet to my 5 drawer cart using spacers. Worked out real good. Didn't have to butcher my cart.

      2 small cuts is butchering... ok, Picasso. The cabinet lip over top of the cart is an excellent idea all spacers you're just in the sheet metal.

    Might be better to have the cabinet lined up flush on the backside. Then the surface top lines up when the lids shut and it can sit against walls farther back.
    Depends on your setup ofc. Either is a big upgrade

    Good job. I have never had to do any mods to any of the big box trucks, maybe a couple holes to secure it. Why would US General build add on that needs to be modify to fit?

      It’s because the end cabinets were made to attach to the roller cabinets, not the mechanics cart.

      I haven’t had any issues moving it when I need to. But my cart usually sits stationary in my garage. I don’t really move it that much.

    how is does if feel with the cabinet full of tools? Does the extra weight make it want to tip over? Is it more difficult to move around the shop?

      It’s feels fine to me. My cabinet isn’t full. I’d say it’s about 40% full. It feels stable. As far as moving it around, it was tough with the two fixed wheels. (It comes with two swivel and two fixed) After I changed them to swivel wheels, it’s easy to move around. ruclips.net/video/MLQFAYy5euI/видео.html

    So i mounted the side drawers and it is crooked with the edges lined up. Im thinking i assembled the cart kind of crooked. Any advice?

      I’d loosen the bolts and see if can be adjusted. If not, something must be bent.

    Some tape would of helped get a cleaner cut. But thanks for showing exactly where the cuts are needed.
    Some other videos not show this, they just say they cut here and there.

    Did you have to bend out the lid to get clearance for the cabinet? Watched another channel where he did it and said he had to bend that lip out.

      No, I didn’t bend the lid. It fit over pretty well without doing anything. At least it did for me.

    With it just being the lip on top holding it will be able to securely hold the addition with tools maximg out the weight

    Only recommendation I'd make is to add a caster wheel to the end cabinet to help distribute the weight better.

      I used a random green paint from Home Depot that didn’t match that great, but it’s such a small area that it isn’t really noticeable. I’m sure you could find a better match. Thanks! 😂

    Is it tough to roll around filled with tools like that?. I work in a factory where I push my cart a lot..

      It is awkward to push with the two stationary wheels. Most people swap them with swivel wheels. After that, it’s easy to push around. That’s what I did. I haven’t had any issues pushing it with tools in it. Here’s a video on it: ruclips.net/video/MLQFAYy5euI/видео.htmlsi=LpKlz1k-aRhfzDiW

    I would pull three bolts off the vertical legs, drill through to the side cabinet, and bolt the two together.

      So far it’s been great. I haven’t had any issues with it. But I don’t have a ton of heavy stuff in the cabinet.

      I believe the U.S. GENERAL 15 in. End Cabinet, Series 3 is the replacement. That should work too.

      @@WorkingWithWimberley Thanks for the heads up on that. They are $279. I got the 5 drawer tool cart on the 12 day Christmas sale for $189 plus tax, it showed up at the store today. (Slate Grey) I'll have to see if the cabinets go on sale at a deep discount before I jump on one.

      I haven’t seen anyone do that, but it should be possible. You would need to relocate the handle too.

      @@dazeh8 It’s been holding up great! I use it all the time. The only thing is that it usually stays in the same spot in my garage. I don’t roll it around a lot. I could, I just don’t need to. So it’s been great/

      I haven’t had an issue with it tipping, but it’s possible if you load up the cabinet with a lot of weight especially if the cart doesn’t have a lot of weight in it.

    I've always liked this mod- though I wonder why no one adds 2 castors onto the outer corners of the end cabinet? I think it would help stabilize the whole thing and give more support to the end cabinet once it's fully loaded with tools... Just a thought.

      That’s a good idea. The cabinet sits a little higher than the cart. You’d just have to add spacers. But it should work.

    Nice video with simple instructions. Thanks! How is the stability? I'm concerned that too much weight in the side cabinet will make the whole thing tilt. I guess if that becomes an issue you could maybe add two casters to the bottom of the side cabinet.

      It was heavy on the cabinet side when it was empty. After I put some tools in the mechanic cart portion, it’s been fine. But I always make sure to push it slowly and carefully. So far so good!

    Did you upgrade the caster wheels or leave the original ones on?

      I ended up replacing the 2 fixed wheels with swivel wheels. It’s way easier to more when all four wheels swivel.

      @@WorkingWithWimberley gotcha, I've seen other say that's a worth while upgrade. I'm waiting to see if the basic tool list I was provided is comprehensive enough or if I'm going to need more than the basic 5 drawer carts.

    Nice work! I have the same 5-drawer cart for all of my bicycle specific tools and parts. The end piece for me would be great for a small worktop space and additional tool storage!

    If the drawers are anything like the 5 on the main cart then you can remove them to make it a lot more manageable by yourself! Just pull one plastic tang down and the other up and it should slide out.

      It’s holding up great! I haven’t had any issues, but honestly it usually stays in the same spot in my garage. I don’t wheel it around much.

    I'm considering adding the same item to my cart. Can I ask how the balance is assuming that you've filled the end cabinet with tools. How easily and stable does it feel when you move it? I'm thinking you could easily have 75-150-250lbs+ in it.

      I haven’t had any balance issues. But my cart usually stays in one spot in the garage and I haven’t completely filled the end cabinet yet.

    You are lucky, you must have bought that end cabinet at the right time. Always out of stock at my harbor frieght. Nice clean job. Only this I would do is add one caster to the end cart to disperse the weight if you load up the side cab.

      Come on Tru! You know better than that. I recorded this weeks ago. The tool cart is already in its proper place in the garage. Look at the thumbnail picture. But when I originally did this, I put the ramp up to my deck and had my wife help me guide it down. I had to play it safe! 👌🏽

    Nice Job I checked the price of the end cabinet and it cost more than the Tool cart the cart was $239 and end cabinet is $279 but still cheaper than Snap On 👍

    I hung my end cabinet on my cart with brackets I made, this way there is no cutting involved.

    how balanced is the cart with the end cabinet on there ? I've got the cart and dont wanna spend the money on more storage unless im gonna get a bigger box but this is perfect and thats my only concern with this

      I haven’t had any issues. But if you load more weight in the cabinet than the cart, I would guess it could become unstable.

    This might be a stupid question, but do you know if this will work on a 4 drawer series 1 cart.
    I'm running out of space in my cart at work, and kind of want to get creative to extend the usage of my current little cart before I need to up to a larger cart or rolling box.

      I’m not sure. Your best bet would be to check the dimensions of the side and see if they are the same. I haven’t seen anyone do it on the 4 drawer, but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible.

      The 4 drawer art is substantially less deep. I think not a good idea.
