What a great project, thank You. My husband had been saying why can’t I make him a cozy for his sherbet. Soo now I can.. Thanks for the video it’s awesome.. 😀
Also you can use fleece for the batting, I did and it work wonderful. Also I use a thin faux leather for the inside so I can wipe it out its wonderful. I am also gonna try and use heat n bond ultra hold so I don't have to sew the X to fuse my fleece and cotton fabric together.
You gave some wonderfully clear directions. Very easy to follow! Thank you 🙏. I’m not new to sewing but always appreciate someone who is clear and doesn’t skip steps. I did end up cutting my corners 3” by 2.5” because I found I liked the tighter fit around the pint size containers. It was a little to loose and moving around a bit using your measurements, which made it harder to hold on to. But again, I still have come back to your videos for the best explanation of steps!! 😊🎈
Wow! I just watched a few videos on how to make these cozies and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on templates.... your video is the easiest to follow and I love all the tips like cutting the batting shorter than the fabric to make the cozy less bulky. Thanks so much. I love love love this. Running now to try it. 🥰
Thank you again , I used your measurements for darts and also cut my batting smaller so much easier to turn right sides . Sewing edges is challenging but love this pattern
How would you convert this pattern for a slightly larger container? Like how do I figure out what my starting size needs to be? I want to make a sleeve for my ninja creami deluxe container ☺️
Awesome and welcome to the channel! I do flip back and forth between different crafts depending on where my brain takes me and right now it's working with yarn. As it gets warmer I'll dive back into more sewing projects and patterns though for sure.
Hello! Can you please tell me if the template you are referring to has the 10 inch square and the 9.5 inch square included, or is it only the template you showed in your video to make the marks for the darts in the ice cream cozy? Thank you. 😊
Hi Linda, the pattern i sell on Etsy includes the 10" square and pleat guides for both the ice cream cozy and a bowl cozy. I didn't include 9.5" marks to save paper when printing. The binding also doesn't have to be exactly 9.5" inches just smaller than the outer square to reduce bulk and make it easier to topstitch. :)
Hello ~ Thank you for your video. Question: If I have using fusible fleece, do I still need to sew the "X" on the pieces? or just proceed to the corner triangles. ('m using for ice cream pints, so it won't be used in the microwave. Thank you!
I like the x's because it gives it that cute quilting effect and also adds a little stabilization in the overall structure but depending on the weight of the fusible fleece, it could totally work. Let me know how it goes if you try it!
I wonder if I still have to use the batting if I use fux leather on the inside? I using leather so I can wipe the inside out and not have to wash them in washing machine all the time.
The batting should be smaller so that there is less bulk on the edges. The 1/4" stitch around the edge might catch some batting but it's better if it doesn't.
From the center point of each of the 4 straight sides you measure 2.25" in both directions from the center point and then down 2.75" to form a "dart" not a pleat.
I made these also and found that it can also be used for a ramen soup cup to microwave. Happy sewing 😁
I just seen this video I cant wait to make some. Its a cool idea for plants

Can you believe it was just from Joannes? So adorable, right?
First time to your channel. Loved this tutorial!! Thank you! I’m a new subscriber and may be interested in being a beta sewer.

I just made one but I did 3” on fold and 21/2” along sides almost impossible to turn. Your measurements will be better, thank you

@@thecraftygrrl I did it both ways, with and without the X using the fusible fleece and it was great either way. Thank you

That is such a brilliant idea! If the faux leather is thick enough I wouldn't use the batting. I'm actually going to try this soon so thank you!
@@thecraftygrrl i got some thin leather for the inside and using some fleece for batting as its cheaper.
This size looks like it might work for Chinese takeout cartons, too?
Yes! Totally.
Hello!
When sewing it all together (still inside out) am I suppose to sew through the batting as well? My batting square is smaller.
The batting should be smaller so that there is less bulk on the edges. The 1/4" stitch around the edge might catch some batting but it's better if it doesn't.
What was yhe size of fabric?
Do you have to use 100% cotton for the batting or does it matter?
I use 100% cotton because it's what I use in my microwaveable bowl cozies but you can use any kind that you prefer if it isn't going in the microwave.
What else can I use if I don’t have batting?
I made this pattern and didn’t have batting so I used an old towel. Worked great! Just make sure it’s cut smaller like she talks about in the video:)
@@Konachameleon thank you so much
For those of you who love "cup a noodles," this may be doable while you're microwaving your ramen. 🙂
What a great idea!
Where can I find the pattern please

What measures are for 14" square?
What measure would be the corners if square is 14"??
What is your Etsy channel

Not understanding the two difference measurements for the pleats???

WAIT! You said 2 1/4 on the side then called it 2.5 which one?
Hi there, can you clarify the time stamps so I can confirm?
I’m looking to make a cozy for a pop can? I need dart measurements
I love the way you talk... Just saying lol
