⚠️ Note: After seating the rear perches in the lower control arms, I highly recommend removing the oversized washer and bolt afterwards. They are only really needed to help pull the perch into place and the perch won't move due to the spring. I have already removed my coilovers after 2 years of use and I had to use an impact gun and a cut off wheel to remove that bolt because of galvanic corrosion.
This helped me out so much, I was probably maxing out the pre load on the rear coils in order to raise it up enough to reach the shock, did not know I was supposed to LOWER the shock instead
My plate that is red yours is orange that plate is going towards my engine like this. Looking from the engine my left coilovers camber plates the 4 screws are facing \ and my right is / how would I fix that?
You should start doing voice work on informational videos if every how to video was this easy to listen to follow along and straight to the point, installing shit on my car would be so much easier

Anyone able to make an air intake DIY bumper setup on the gen 2 Scion TC 2011-2013? I want to make a setup that allows air to flow from the bumper to the air intake. Thanks
I was supposed to be sent a section from a broken bumper to model one on a while ago, but that never happened. I also just don't have the time anymore to design one or I would.
Read coiloverdepot.com/pages/spring-rates-suspension-102 first to understand spring rates. Usually you preload, or pre-compress the spring 3-5mm to keep the spring from becoming unseated when it extends. I went with zero preload on recommendation for my setup to reduce low speed bounciness and haven't had any issues with them, even when I jack up the car or drive around on aggressive roads. If you're not comfortable with running zero preload, then go ahead and pre-compress the springs 3-5mm. Now, if you do a 5mm preload on an 8K linear spring (1kg to compress it 1mm), then it behaves as if already has 448 lbs (1kg = ~56lbs) of weight on it, so it won't start to compress further until you exceed 448 lbs on that spring. Hopefully I have that correct. It's been a long day.

I also got the alignment with it. After I got my car back I did feel the car WAY more bouncy than normal. Any ways/tips for that bounce to go away or feel more like stock ride?
Play with the damper adjustments. Try to adjust all of them equally at first until you can get a feel of the effects. Make sure you always keep the left and right sides at the same settings, but the front and rear can be different.
@@VampyreX13 Ok I will try this thank you! But one more thing when I turn the wheel my driver side makes a very loud creaking/pounding sound and it’s very annoying and concerning and I’m not sure what is causing the problem. Any idea what is working?
@pst_vybez the coil is binding up and then suddenly releasing, making that noise. Did you install the Swift thrust sheets that I have linked in my MaXpeedingRods coilover review video? That will prevent that from happening.
How long should it take springs to settle? Bc I put in tein coil overs on mine and for the rear springs I had it inverted compared to yours due to the logo print. Just wondering if progressive springs all go In the same. Also do the rear shocks need to be fully extended and uncompressed when installing before dropping the car?
I usually just wait a week for springs to settle before I get an alignment. When I installed Tein's on my friend's car, I also noticed they had the logo upside down on the rear. Progressive springs usually have the tighter spaced section towards the top. As for the rear, you want the shock extended like I have in the video so that they support the lower control arm while keeping the spring secured so that it maintains between 0-5mm of preload..
What did you mean at 5:28 when you said the end link wont reach untill u disconnect the other side? I put some coilobers yesterday and it didnt reach so I just put it on like that and its the same height in the front
Because the difference in height from the untouched side vs. the new coilover side is too much when you try to drop the car as much as possible. The sway bar won't reach unless you disconnect it. Once you install the coilover on the other side, you can reconnect the sway bar as long as the coilover height is within it's travel limits.
@@jhonathangarcia1330 while you can drive without the front sway bar attached, it's not advisable with modern vehicles since the suspension and handling was designed with that as a standard and not optional part. You might be able to find longer, compatible endlinks if you really want to slam the car. Since I always keep my ride at a performance height, I don't have a ton of experience or input when it comes to dropping a car that low.
@@miclomusic805 I'm glad you saw the video and realized it was wrong. Yeah, you want to make sure your suspension is done correctly. Let it settle in for about a week and then be sure to get a proper alignment.
@@VampyreX13 after inspecting again it turns out they actually sent them to me with the bottom brackets installed on the wrong sides causing my camber plates to not fit properly, I switched the parts and it’s lining up the right way now 👍🏽 Just gotta learn the right amount of camber now 💯

I put mine were my camber plates go off to the side oml is that fine caus I have not touched my camber yet
Have you gotten an alignment? If you're aligned, you should be fine, but you should get it corrected especially if you are dropping the car low.

do you know by chance what's the front top strut nut size is?
I'm not sure, but 14mm comes to mind. The next time I'm in the attic, I'll try to remember to measure the nut on the KYB struts.

My camera plates are going towards the engine like this \ / I have Megan racing coilovers but they aren't different from these. How would I fix that

Set the rear perch lower. You will need to drop the the rear control arm to do this.
