It's a real shame those dry spots were in the clear Pharraway as it made you a lot of work doing the flowcoat, I do like to see a nice flowcoat though as it seems to bring the base colour out a bit more and gives it that extra pop, great job brother it looks really flat with a great gloss👏🙏👍John UK
Yer much better painter than me , I've only done one complete and kinda botched it I started to figure it out towards the end my pressure was to low for the thick clear I was spraying I have a door and fender that didn't get recovered as I ran out of clear and base so they are a slightly different shade thinking of doing this
Great videos and good timing for me . I'm getting close to painting my 71 z in Lexus ultra white tri coat, couple buddies who paint have said it's tough but seeing your vids plus bunch of others I'm gunna go for it . I'll practice on a couple spare panels I've got but hey feel free to toss me any other ri color pearl pointers 😎. Biggest thing I'm getting so far is to jam it like you show to clear, assemble and paint the exterior as an assemble car . How do you blmask the door seams for over spray once assembled? I didnt see any folded tape backing etc. great vids man very helpful
The dry spots should smooth out with 2000 and 2500 without too much risk of burning through the clear. Especially if you have 3 coats of clear on there. Why not try sanding first? If your plan is to re-clear anyway, then you have nothing to lose and it may turn out that you can just polish the shine back.
On the last video he said he was only going to use a 1.2 tip and “you’ll see it works flawlessly”. I don’t think it got enough material on the surface. Should’ve been 1.3 tip.
I bought a sagola 1.3 4600 extreme and idk if i got a knock off but i had a similar experience i had several dry spots and i must have went atleast 5 times over the hood and could never get it wet enough it always looked splotchy switched it up to my lp400 and it looks super wet and flowed out beautifuly
1st thing, I really like your revised video opening, great work just like your paint jobs Why separate the hood and truck and why not do them all together with the fenders and quarter panel? I can imagine how frustrated to get these dry spots, and If only I live closer to you I would give you a bottle of Coquito to relax yourself🍶🥳 You and your family have a safe, healthy, and enjoyable Thanskgiving
Flow coat is always the way to go. Awesome job sir

strongly agree with you, and also would save too much time!
I have a little streak on the roof that is dry could I just polish with a da sander and be fine?
I believe 2 coat is average... Never had issue with wet sanding to remove thats needed. but fow coat is good more fun than buffing that's for sure
how long should i wait before i cut and buff when spraying clear coat at home ? a few days or can i start sanding clear coat the next day ?
What causes the dry spots ?

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family 😊, I was wondering if you was going to flow coat the pearl
LOL
How long do you have to wait to flow coat it.
48hr
@@PHARRAWAY thank you
How do you like the Shopline clear?
it's good the only thing it's really easy to get a run with this clear

Thank You brother I'm doing it this way because I don't want to deal with this clear not drying quick and get some runs
Ngl...after painting a toyota tundra recently I am considering taking body panels off and painting them separately next time.
Happy Thanksgiving
Thank You brother
3 coats is more then enough ??????? im i missing something?
