3 cylinders are amazing my golf is 1.0 3cylinder pushing 110hp and 200-215nm 😭
Well they did make the 2jz so they probably know how to make great engines.
@@P_K97 2jz are great. But they are 2x as many cylinders as this, which is crazy in terms of performance and engineering facts.

I believe I did see even more but maybe it ended quite badly 🤔 Whatever it is still impressive.

The S55 WITHOUT an equal length exhaust sounds like a 3 cylinder. With an equal length exhaust it gets the true inline 6 sound and then it sounds nothing like the GR Yaris engine.
Alright, now someone needs to come out with a 2 cylinder 😅

Thats not a compliment because the M4 (S55 engine) needs an equal length exhaust system to sound good(to sound like an inline 6).

"However, the twin turbo setup of the S55 engine while producing addition power has created a sound which sounds more like 2 independent inline 3's competing for noise than the throaty sound one would expect. The variance between the lengths of the front and rear down-pipes of almost a foot and a half creates unevenly spaced pulses so that when the merge in any form of crossover system whether stock, x-pipes, double x-pipes, single mid-pipe or rear-section solutions. Since the sound waves are moving at the same rate when they exit the system, these crossover sections are simply creating a higher pitched sound resulting in the annoying sound some have referred to as a weed eater sound. The current systems allow the banks to merge unequally pulsed sounds and after much research and testing (from many BMW experts) it was determined that equalizing the length of the exhaust pipes before mixing was a solution to this sound problem."

LOL some people won't be agree with you because it's a 3 cylinder. I'm pretty sure Most of them If had been just listened to the sound and not watching the video they wouldn't even believe it's a 3 cylinder!

Honestly I don't think it sounds good, a Akrapovic exhaust with a 200 cell cat would be more than enough
Its the rasp that kills it. Same issue with VQs, BMW engines (not all, the B58 manages to avoid this quite well), VW's EA888, and countless "fart cannon" Hondas from the past. Its a nasally, higher-pitched rasp that ruins the underlying tone of the exhaust and gives it a "megaphone-y" quality. You could maybe fix (or at least help) it with a cat, but that's kind of a no-no for running anti-lag. A resonator setup could work quite well while still keeping the straight pipe flow benefits.

@@MrManuel1329 Are they equal length? I thought B58s had the headifold. I suppose what runners are there could still be equal length. Regardless, they sound miles better than whichever engine is in the M3/4 (S58? S55? I don't remember.)

Pensavo molto meglio questa yaris😒 non la preparazione ma l'auto. L'estetica laterale con la linea che parte alta dal frontale e si abbassa verso il posteriore fa sembrare l'auto seduta dietro...non bella , il motore non scende mai di giri è una sensazione orrenda a mio avviso 😒
