Most people have chosen to do something they really didn't WANT to do at least once, in order to fulfill some obligation or responsibility they felt they had, or to achieve a goal for themselves. She may not have felt pressured by Ivar to have a child, but back then, it's pretty much all women were expected to do. They had one job, and it was to have babies. They were really looked down on if they couldn't or wouldn't do that. Especially when it came to royalty. Maybe if she was some great warrior like Lagertha, she could have escaped some of that judgement, but she wasn't. Also, since Ivar did get another woman pregnant after Freydis's death, he might have still been the father of her child, we'll never know. Bro people try to make ivar a villian but when you think about he was disregarded in society for the for (20?) years of his life, his father finally comes back give him the recognition he never had then that father dies quickly after, so then he seeks revenge and his brothers dont really care for the revenge so they all betray him, then he goes home to kill the murderer of his mother fails, and then even his greatest/closeat love one continue to betray him for petty resons
