  • The Hound assists Ray (a warrior turned septon) and his followers in building a sept, but one day, after a brief journey into nearby woods to chop wood, Clegane returns to the community to find everyone slaughtered by rogue members of the Brotherhood Without Banners. Clegane takes up an ax to hunt down those responsible and kills four of them. In this video clip the Hound discovers the remaining three about to be hanged by Lord Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr, who inform him that the group were acting independently of the Brotherhood. Lord Beric allows Clegane to help hang two of the outlaws, followed by an offer to join the Brotherhood.

That way it wouldn't be "over in an instant." If you check again, the 3rd guy, despite being hanged last, dies immediately with barely any noise and only twitches once while the other 2 are clearly still suffocating to death and spasming - especially the guy in the middle LOL. @@GodofGamesss Sort of.
      While he is born in very minor nobility - which is much better than 60-70% out there - he had to deal with absent parents and a very abusive older brother who scarred him for life. Sure, he enjoyed some measure of a better life but at what cost? He is emotionally damaged and engages in violence because it is, for the most part, the only way he has found to survive and make do.
      I'd likely preferred to have been a sept or even a peasant in some lands rather than Sandor Clegane.

    • @GodofGamesss
      @GodofGamesss 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@MrLuchenkov Even with that taken into account he still has it better.
      Live as a peasant is hard, you have to deal with a 50% child death rate and your parents will see you as part of the labor they have available. When your parents work hard, you work hard and if you dont, you get the shit beaten out of you. Not to mention that children have the lowest respect while the elderly have the highest respect and you are to treat them as such.
      So after you survive that and become an adult, you have to find a way to make a living. If your the eldest you can stay with your parents and eventually take over whatever their doing. But if your a second son or less your on your own. And as a woman you just get married of to the highest standing person that wants you.
      But this is during peacetime...
      During wartime your pretty much screwed each time an army passes by, it does not even matter on which side that army is. What ever they need will get confiscated from you and if they think you have more they turn your place upside down. Not to mention that they might rape some woman while their at it.
      And then you have the deserters which form temporally bandit groups that pillage everything on their way back to were ever they came from.
      Live was horrible for most people during this era and I think this is the reason why everyone was so religious. You cant hang on to live as an Atheist when every day is harsh or even spend in fear.

    The thing that sucks is that this scene wasn't in the books, so we know D&D are capable of good writing, they just didn't care enough in seasons 7&8 because they wanted to wrap up the show and move on to other stuff. What a letdown it was to abandon the fans like that, and I feel awful for George who cautiously allowed them to develop it into a TV series only to have them run it into the ground.

      Do you think Sandor will return in the books as well? I do not. I think HBO choose to bring him back because of the characters popularity. George don't do that. Also, the guy in the middle is suposed to be Lem Lemoncloak. Is not all bad what D&D did to him, since they didn't even brought Catelyn back from the river. There is a awesome video of the actor saying the "she remembers" speech, though

This IS a great scene- my point is that D&D often get flack for being "bad writers", which seasons 7&8 were full of "bad writing". But are they capable of very good writing? Yes, and this scene as well as others that aren't in the books are proof of that.

      @@boromirfernandes4324 I think as much as GRRM would like to think the show won't influence his writing, he probably feels obligated now to follow at least *some* of what was done in the show, after they ran out of material from his books. The real reason Season 6 is good is because it's *before all of the different plotlines needed to converge.* Then things get messy.
      Realistically, with Dany's dragons, Dothraki and Unsullied, the story may as well be over. *She's insanely overpowered and hard to write around.* It's a tipping point.
      Unlike the Dance Of Dragons, it's extremely one-sided.
