DD Speed Shop my advice is, quit messing with cars. It’s addicting and hard to quit. You’ll have tons of stuff and only you will think it’s valuable. Other than that, it’s a good hobby.
I love that your just like %90 of us that have to work all day and come home to our little garage and work with what we have. Not like the or all the other big restoration shops I am glad there are people like me out there keep it up love your work. ✌️
richard frank that’s why I love these small channels. No sponsors no big fancy shop or crazy budget, I don’t even have a small garage but I still do what I can.

I am restoring a 1954 Dodge Fargo 1/2 ton and I am working in my own shop/garage. I watch the little guys on RUclips every day so I can learn how to fix my truck. My hat's off to the back yard mechanic that figures things out as they go.
I had a 68 C-10 with a 396 and 4 spd with "granny gear" I moved cross country in that. It didn't look like anything special but I smoked so many cars from the green light! I was actually bummed when I got rid of it. Being just out of high school, I explored a lot of this country in that truck, she never let me down. Good memories. I really like the way yours is turning out.
Nice to see someone who can actually speak without repeating himself with every sentence ie: Bad Chad !! Great video man showing how you can do things outside of the "Box" lol
Hey Dan, your latest C10 video really shows how lucky the next guy is. You put in all the late-night full of Labor night after night week after week most of the times month after month to come up with a nice safe car. And the next guy, well, he looks at the car decides he wants it pays for it turn the key and drives it away. You know after building many cars I think I want to be the next guy from now on.🤓
Big TWO THUMBS UP from us! Spring is getting closer, just think how great it will look outside when you can walk around it and see it from all the angles.
Seriously i can't tell you enough, you're such an inspiration. Can do attitude, normal garage thats like the rest of us, you film everything, so thanks man.

Never seen it done this way , only thing I can think i would have done different, if I was going to do it that way is to hang new bed sides and center rear axle before cutting!
I'm still kind of thinking I would have wanted to leave that one overload spring on there and just take out the broken one above it and its mate on the other side. It's not really carrying anything unless you bottom out the springs and only costs you a 1/2" in rear ride height, that you might actually want. I'd rather have it sitting a little tail-high than tail-low. I know you said the truck would never carry another load, but I'm still thinking I like the overload spring and I think it kind of mated with the axle better with it. Just my 2 cents. Great job!
Dan it's coming along nicely there. If I was you I'll have a hard time selling. Wish I would have known how to make it a short bed out of a long bed with out cutting it in the middle frame out when I was building my 74 Chevy C10. I would have done it without question. I figure that maybe a few are still in areas that have the most in their wrecking yards. keep going and best wishes
Hi Dan. Nice job. Mabye do a wood bed kit, with the chrome metal strips. Starting to look like a keeper. You sure do a good job, considering having a small shop. You need more room man. Even a small addition would free up space. Anyways, nice video!

Shouldn't at least one of the shocks be mounted in front to help prevent leaf spring coil up under acceleration , which pulls the front of the diff. up and misaligns the drive shaft. That also over works the leaf springs like bending a wire back and forth to break it.
