Shoegazer 93 - exactly!! Couldn’t have said it better myself. Even after all these years. It just gets better and better. It’s mind blowing how amazingly good they are.
Still can't over how these guys did not blow up worldwide. Literally unknown in North America outside of a small blip in '92. OX4 is such a great tune.
@DiegoPerez-di6su Hey there is one from the year BEFORE, I just watched, EVEN BETTER QUALITY. I actually own the CD of this concert here, I remastered it just for myself a few years ago - it's called "LIVE LIGHT"... its the audio from THIS CLIP. The other , here... ruclips.net/video/4FdvR6Zcpb8/видео.htmlsi=Hgbixjco3wI8n3v-
Ride are the first band I saw live. Portsmouth guildhall on this tour. Listening to it now I realise what a privilege it was. Love Ride for life. Mercury Rev too. Car Wash Hair 🙂
this band is my all time fave brit band. the mixtures was perfect... harmonized vocal and noise guitar, monotonic bass and complexity of the drums... surely the BEST!, thanks for sharing
The reason these guys didn't blow up in 1992 is that they had competition. Imagine that within that year, of all the new bands, you could choose to go and see: Ride, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana, TAD, Melvins, Love Battery, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Gruntruck, Swervedriver, Kyuss, Yawning Man, Lush... Musical eras like that don't come around very often.
One of the best bands ever live. I got to see them with Lush opening up on their first tour and then again on the Leave Them All Behind tour. The way that they played in sync with each other was amazing. Highly underrated band.
Damn, this is the first live set I've seen by them. They are even more dynamic live. Love this band. I grew up listening to 90's rock but never knew about them till I was much older.
My last comment here was a year ago saying, come back for a tour please! And a few months later it was announced that they were indeed going to do a tour in 2015. Now I'm looking at this still tingling from the gig I saw at London Roundhouse 2 days ago. chuffed!!!!
Fabulous, an all round top drawer gig. Video is Ace. Brilliant bandmanship and they fed off the raw energy of the crowd. All in all an epic, legendary gig that only comes once in a lifetime.
I was 15 on this tour....I saw them at City Gardens in New Jersey on June 17 1992....it changed me forever......i became a musician.....and abandoned most of my Hardcore music collection.....and became what my friends jokingly referred to ad hippie trash.....even though this is what i was into....at the time the term shoegaze hadnt caught on really yet.....but we all knew this was different and really special!
This remains one of the greatest gigs I’ve ever been to (a very young and spacey Verve supporting didn’t exactly hurt either)…Still have the VHS of this somewhere…
I was there. The hype around Ride was so big at the time in London. They had a signing the day before this show at Tower Records I believe it was, with fans waiting hours upon hours to get inside. What a time it was. What a band!
Been a long time since I listened to Ride. I was at this gig and I never understood the whole 'shoegazer' thing. Ride and My Bloody Valentine to me had more in common with Sonic Youth but with melodies. For me though Ride did not improve with age, the first time I saw them at Manchester Boardwalk they blew me away with the sheer noise and freshness of what they were doing, but that kind of dissipated sadly. Funnily enough I see Loz quite regularly these days, lovely bloke.
Saw them on this tour at Portsmouth Guildhall - brilliant. Love all their albums including Tarantula! The shoegaze revival is here (well certainly for men in their early 40s anyway!). Slowdive also touring and the new Swervedriver LP is great.
Just forgot how bloody bloody good RIDE were, .leave them all behind an absolute cracking opener...GOING BLANK AGAIN? No chance...THANKS FOR POSTING this excellent vid from back in the day....
Pleeeeeeeease come back for a tour. Really pretty please! Doesn't get any better as far as live shows go. Period. The music sounds as raw as 20 years ago-timeless.
I haven't watched this for years, saw them around this time (Going Blank Again tour) down here in Australia too, funny to see Mark without the chrome dome and Andy without the baseball cap again, Steve and Lol haven't changed a bit....
Wow! Saw them two nights earlier than this at The Brighton Event. Fucking Loud! You miss this on the video - the floor vibrating to the bass and drum... Great gig !
I'm 90% positive I was in the crowd, went for a pint and but Dreams Burn Down beckoned me back! I though Seagull was also on the bill but must be wrong...
If you really can't spare the 1:22:08 to listen to this in full, the real spine tingling starts at 51:10. Saw them at Berlin Nightclub in Perth Western Australia many, many years. Unfortunately it doesn't appear they are touring here with the reformed band. Almost worth a trip back to the UK to see them once more... almost.
Pretty sure I was at this one, remember going to the back for a drink or something near the end and then Dreams Burn Down come on, oh well. Back to the floor.... Shame they didn't film more of the audiance...
The mighty Ride!Bought this twice on VHS and never tired of watching it,plenty of great songs but OX4 was always the one for me and the simple light show during this performance is beautifully sympathetic to the song. I got to hear them live in Belfast on the Carnival of Light tour and was awestruck, one of my favourite gigs.A pity the band ended so soon but what a wonderful and influential legacy they left behind, true originals. Big cheesy Macca thumbs up to olliemorr for the upload.
I saw Ride a few times back then. I enjoyed their first album. They were decent live. My Bloody Valentine were great too. My favorite was Swervedriver! They were really good!
I was there at this gig in 1992 and again at The Roundhouse last night 2024! Truly a great band
The more I watch this, the more I think they're the greatest band ever
They're playing Brixton tomorrow night
Indeed...!
Actually, Ride, Slowdive, Chapterhouse are all the best
What about Lush?. Also is a great Shoegazing band too.
Shoegazer 93 - exactly!! Couldn’t have said it better myself. Even after all these years. It just gets better and better. It’s mind blowing how amazingly good they are.
Not a bad song on the setlist. Ride were a truly amazing band.
No, they still are
Still are! After having seen them last night!
Not a bad note played. That drumming, intergalactic stuff.
dreams burn down helped me through my parents death i had no one
music helped me ty ride
Still can't over how these guys did not blow up worldwide. Literally unknown in North America outside of a small blip in '92. OX4 is such a great tune.
They weren't that good
@@dunlaoghaire they were, US just wasn't interested in good music
They create amazing soundscapes but their choruses aren't that memorable. They sound like verses IMO.
@@musiki2534 Couldn’t disagree more. They had some of the most earworm choruses out of any of the original UK shoegazers
@@dollarsaurus01 that dude is a moron. Great songs all around.
Total flashback to 1993. To be 16 again. Damn life was simple back then!!!!!
I was 18.
prospectus I was 82
+Green Man 1993. The year that I was born unfortunately. I should have been born earlier to witness this. Fuck
Currently 16 listening to this for the first time, in my top 10 for sure.
Easily the highest quality sound of any 240p video in existance.

Moron.

Yep first gig too seeing them on this tour at Poole Arts Centre. Christ where did the time go?
I was on acid at this gig haha.
The Real MVP of 1992
got to be the best experience ever
Saw them AND Lush on acid 😎🙃👾
lucky...
I’ve just come down from my trip and read this 👌🏻class
So in love with them I changed my name back in 1989 to Kaleido in honour of Kaleidoscope...
Léanie Kaleido - wow! That’s dedication! Well deserved too
- what a phenomenal band !!!!
Fan on the "younger" side here, saw Ride in Brazil in 2018, still an amazing band, one of the best concerts i ever been to
queria tanto ter ido nesse show :(
'OX4' is one of the most beautiful sound that my ears ever heard
i could listen to 8 hours of 'leave them all behind' or 'seagul'..thanks.
"Mouse trap" is fantastic.
favourite ride song by far.
this band is my all time fave brit band. the mixtures was perfect... harmonized vocal and noise guitar, monotonic bass and complexity of the drums... surely the BEST!, thanks for sharing
me too
you said it
Best drummer ever seen and I've seen Norwegian black metal
This must be the best 240p i’ve ever heard and seen. Flawless performance. Man…what a band…
I can't believe only 3,554 people have watched this? This is the greatest band of all time. Great live concert video.
Back for my 100,000th listen. Thank you for putting this up.
Likewise!

This might just be the best quality 240p video that exists on youtube
YOU might just be the best quality 240p that exists on youtube.
I was there....great night and the night i fell in love with the original Mercury Rev line -up who were the support.
wow early Mercury Rev supporting!
Greatest live video of all time. Watched it a million times.
One of the best bands ever live. I got to see them with Lush opening up on their first tour and then again on the Leave Them All Behind tour. The way that they played in sync with each other was amazing. Highly underrated band.
the most sonicly impressive way to open a live show i've ever heard. So much complex sounds and melody
the way it sets the mood
The live rendition of Vapour Trail here is almost more hypnotic than the album version
TIME OF HER TIME IS SO GOOD
Loz! Brilliant Drumming Skills!! Good for you...
I love hearin' about all these fuckin' people that were there!
Damn, this is the first live set I've seen by them. They are even more dynamic live. Love this band. I grew up listening to 90's rock but never knew about them till I was much older.
musicians who actually know WHEN use a wah-wah are musicians I respect.
Totally.

THE band of the 90s. Thank you all xx
Fabulous, an all round top drawer gig. Video is Ace. Brilliant bandmanship and they fed off the raw energy of the crowd. All in all an epic, legendary gig that only comes once in a lifetime.
My god….glad this popped into my feed…34 years later and still absolutely relevant and rocking….cant wait to see them soon
I saw them open for Lush in 1991 in Cleveland Ohio, they were totally awesome...I got thrown out during Lush though...Kickass show! Ride is the best.
This requires the rest of the story. Why were you thrown out?
The flow and setlist just perfect. Almost mistake free performance. One for the Ages.
'Leave Them All Behind' - what an opener!

Drive Blind > every other song on the face of the earth
espectacular show....GENIOS...suban mas de ellos..gracias
This might be the greatest thing I've ever seen. ❤️❤️❤️
I was there. The hype around Ride was so big at the time in London. They had a signing the day before this show at Tower Records I believe it was, with fans waiting hours upon hours to get inside. What a time it was. What a band!
Saw Ride last weekend at Glasgow & Manchester - truly magnificent. I was 13 when I bought this on VHS!
Hi there, do you have any ride tshirts from 90’s era? If you have one please let me know! Thank you 🙏
Ride is on my soundtrack of life --- Fantastic . I got it ,still get it ! Feelin it from the USA.
When I discovered Ride back in 92, I thought the were Rad. 25 years later, they still are
reunion in 2015! yes!
Someone mentioned Swervedriver earlier... Hell yeah. Ejector Seat Reservation is one of the best songs ever written. I want it played at my funeral.
I've only just discovered this band! Epic!
THE most underrated and absolutely best band of the 90s.
So smoooooooth still in 2021

What a find :) I'm back in 92... I'm in the crowd somewhere too!
just been announced. You can buy this on on DVD, finally, when you buy the 20 year re-release coming in May 2012.
100% shoegazing
Saw them in Belfast and to this day I have never heard a wall of sound quite like it (Apart from My Bloody Valentine)
they look so young here but we are almost same age so they are 21and 22 here. Such a great show. Sounds so tight.
I'm really getting into the 'Shoegazing' scene, shame I missed out on this one :/ thanks for uploading olliemorr!
Still remember the ‘On’ page in NME that featured Ride with the pic in front of the castle. Rest is history.
Oh, and chrome waves is an absolute classic....superb.....!!!!!!!
still untouchable. greatest live music VIDEOOOOOO of all time.
Real props to Mark Edward Over who directed this music video!
Amazing 'Chelsea Girl'. Speachless.
+oyakomame yea love the slow break down
The best shoegaze band of all time.
Saw them at Glasgow Barrowland on this tour. Possibly the only truly great band of “the scene that celebrates itself” as they used to say. Superb.
whoever posted this thank you.i was there.it was amazing.
Saw them on this tour at Portsmouth Guildhall - brilliant. Love all their albums including Tarantula! The shoegaze revival is here (well certainly for men in their early 40s anyway!). Slowdive also touring and the new Swervedriver LP is great.

No chance...THANKS FOR POSTING this excellent vid from back in the day....
Stunning.... How can sound make you feel so alive... You just drown into the music!

Der Zeit weit voraus! Ein Vierteljahrhundert ist es her.
I wish they'd have played "Cool Your Boots"...
I was at that gig - I loved that band - still do
Pleeeeeeeease come back for a tour.
Really pretty please!
Doesn't get any better as far as live shows go. Period.
The music sounds as raw as 20 years ago-timeless.
Hey they played this on my birthday :D
Unforgotten in 2022.
honestly best live show, it's truly perfect...
The melodic power is hard to believe. RIDE are British Indie giants for damn good reason 👍
I haven't watched this for years, saw them around this time (Going Blank Again tour) down here in Australia too, funny to see Mark without the chrome dome and Andy without the baseball cap again, Steve and Lol haven't changed a bit....
I was at this gig! :-P Yay!
Steve Coleman - WOAH! You’re so lucky !!!!!!
Wow! Saw them two nights earlier than this at The Brighton Event. Fucking Loud! You miss this on the video - the floor vibrating to the bass and drum... Great gig !
I will listening every day in april.
They were at the top of their game on this tour. Saw them in New York and still remember it 25 years later. Incredible.
Unbelievable. Thank you for putting this on YT! This band changed my music listening life. 20 years later they are still freaking awesome!
supporting them on this gig was a very young Verve. the audio - ruclips.net/video/2R8kC5SwsE0/видео.html
what a night that must have been.
I'm 90% positive I was in the crowd, went for a pint and but Dreams Burn Down beckoned me back! I though Seagull was also on the bill but must be wrong...
One of the best band... definitively!

Jonathan Campbell They said on sunday just gone when I saw them live that with the success of the recent gigs they'll be starting a year-long tour.
Thanks for the upload, so inspiring and fresh indeed. Souvenirs !!!! Beautifully filmed too.
Pretty sure I was at this one, remember going to the back for a drink or something near the end and then Dreams Burn Down come on, oh well. Back to the floor.... Shame they didn't film more of the audiance...
Fantastic upload. Thanks.
amazing band. way underrated.
The 'original My Vitriol' and I'm proud to discover the band that not only could give MV sleepless nights in a battle but likely inspired them👌
The mighty Ride!Bought this twice on VHS and never tired of watching it,plenty of great songs but OX4 was always the one for me and the simple light show during this performance is beautifully sympathetic to the song.

Anyone who found this happen to go to the Slough festival the year before that Ride headlined? £5 a ticket. Those were the days...
Fucking great upload.....many thanks!
RIDE FOR EVER IN MY HEART!
