We’d love AC in a larger van. But for our current setup considering space, load capacity/weight and electrics it’s just not feasible for how we spend all our time off grid. 💯 Doable in a larger van for sure.
Great video, guys! I appreciate the relaxed and real discussion. Found the advice on electrics, heating, A/C, and shower really useful for my upcoming build. Thanks for sharing your experiences! 🚐👊🏼
Thanks Jon! We took some inspiration from your own channel around seeking perfection and procrastinating or just putting something out and learning from the process ✌️
Great to have an update after only watching your initial tour yesterday. It's very disappointing to hear that it can be difficult to find LPG. I'm currently planning my own build for next year and was pretty set on LPG water heater, heater and hob/oven. I prefer the idea of LPG as it's much cleaner than diesel and means not having to fiddle with the van's fuel tank.
👋 Thanks for coming back to watch another video 🙌 We’re really happy with a hybrid approach for power and heating. It’s worked really well for us personally. Having the LPG just for cooking has been so much better, and we fill up only 3-4 months and it’s so cheap! When it’s very cold out we don’t turn the diesel heater off, we just leave it on a thermostat and it regulates heat really well.
@@TheRoadTwoSpoons ☺️. That's great it lasts so long if just used for cooking. I have heard that re diesel heater thermostat. Is it easy enough to install? Is there a danger of using all of the diesel in the tank or is the pick-up higher than the one for the engine?
We didn’t install ours, but yes the pick up is higher than the main vehicle/tank so you could never run the tank empty. The Truma one is really good on diesel too, it doesn’t use a lot.
Just found yr channel, very informative and a great insight to what works and doesn't. Is this channel basically instructional or will y'all be filming episodical videos of road trips, a day in the life and the destinations?
Regarding your worktop. You don't need to sand them down. Just give them a good clean. Probably white spirit.. Use nylon pads. Thoroughly dry. Then apply osmo. And do it more frequently in future. Then probably no need to clean with spirit. I'm a flooring contractor. Restoring wood floors for over 30 yrs.
Thanks for the tips - will look into it. Are the nylon pads not very abrasive like a low grit sand? We’ve got all sorts of scratches and bumps in it at the moment. Thanks 🙏
You can put the AC under the van also. Maybe thats very expensive, I don’t know. I would definitely get a AC in my future van, especially for my dog.

Hey 👋 We tend to share day to day stuff over on our insta vs RUclips, as you can see we don’t post too often here 😅

Have you looked into a rv 240v generator to fit under the van... Not cheap, but automatic and only 50z...x
Hi, we’ve not no. We have no requirement for it. We’ve been living off grid successfully with this setup for the last couple of years now 😊
@@TheRoadTwoSpoons that's good to know.... Saves me £5,000.... Thank you...x
