@@B11-u5n That's obviously not true. Although I'm not a fan of being classified solely by one or two adjectives I identify as belonging to the liberal left (for the most part). How could I not respect that? That also means I probably agree with 95% of his views and I believe he gives excellent advice on the topics he specializes in. The fact that I see the world from a different angle once in a while does not in any way take away from that.

I can count the amount of books that I’ve read start to finish on both hands. I feel like Jordan Peterson speaks to everyone, because the things he says are TRUTHS. Truths in the sense that he tells us, and reinforces these truths, truths that we all know and feel deep down inside. These human, sometime primal truths that everyone feels but not everyone will, or wants to admit. Also he understands how dangerous ideology’s can be and does not like radicals of any kind.
The name makes a lot of sense, mansplaining is the negative view of a man explaining even if he is correct. Just a reason to ignore arguments. Femsplaining is her taking this derogative term and applying it to them, that a sex explaining something shouldn't be something bad, and thinking otherwise is absolutely sexist. They are taking this sexist hypocrisy and treating it with a fucking ton of sarcasm.

Its honestly really nice to have a "soft" interview with Jordan Peterson. Most of his interviews/lectures are so intense, this one is much more personal.
Ability to joke and parodize one's own views and agendas by calling your own show "femsplainers" shows self-awareness and sense of humor which is usually a good sign.
Yeah honestly, when I saw the name "femsplainers", I went in expecting the worst. But this was actually a genuinely interesting interview. It was nice to hear a little more of the personal side of things too, rather than just some far-left hack laboring a point over and over.

These women deserve a larger platform. They’re pleasant, clever, interesting and are excellent conversationalists. I really appreciate that they’re also open to ideas other than their own and are able to respectfully disagree. Seeing this kind of interaction is refreshing and rare in this day and age.
I completely agree, compare them to anyone that had a debate with Jordan and they would most certainly be one of the most civil and cheery people that I've seen him debate with. Those women are also absolutely amazing at having a conversation from what I've seen in this video. I came into this video reading the title thinking that this is gonna be a large argumentative debate but its honestly really nice to see that some media outlets can still have good and pleasant debates.
They are women I’d respect. Which are hard to spot in this media landscape. Probably because respect is selected against in the zeitgeist. It’s not as interesting to have people who are instead of bombastic, level and well established in themselves.
If they are interesting enough they will get it. Saying they deserve a larger platform is the same as saying that women basketball players deserve bigger salaries or in other words the same salaries as men. This two women are ok interviewers but if they were men and asking the same questions they would be very average. In my opinion they deserve an averagely large platform. They are not bad at what they do but definitely not outstanding in any way.

Many young men like me, 23 years old, appreciate Dr. Peterson's consistency, vernacular, and ability to exchange opinions forthrightly, coherently, and articulately because today's political climate is rarely that.
I am not gonna lie, I came into this expecting another GQ but I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for having Dr. Peterson on your show and not misrepresenting him so carelessly. I am sure he appreciates it as much as his fans do.
I mean, have you not seen any other Christina Hoff Sommers content? She has been part of some very popular panels and viral videos involving feminists hating on her because she hates third-wave feminism. She's appeared with Ben Shapiro, Steven Crowder, and such before. She's great.
@Wise Acres How about you grow up? I never understood why people who hate Jordan Peterson seem to make fun of the "clean your room" argument and redicule him with it. If you actually took time to understand what he meant by "cleaning your room" instead of instantly attacking it, maybe you would become a better person. It's not even that hard to understand lol, cleaning your room = organizing a part of your life. It's a small first step which can lead to more steps to improving your life.
These two ladies have a great way of sparking joy and playfulness in JP. His interviews can be pretty heady and intense, but they add a lot of levity to his ideas and demeanor. This was a true joy to watch!
His interviews can be intense because feminists are always attacking him. Its amazing he has the patience to deal with these ridiculous women, who inevitably get shown up for their ignorant and sexist views. The man is a saint. The women on this interview are actually intelligent and open to discussing ideas rather going for personal attacks. This is why this interview is a pleasure to watch.
One of the hosts is a poc that wrote the book "The Trouble with Islam Today". I have not watched/read/consumed any other content produced by them other than this interview so take this with a grain of salt but they seem to have a right wing feminist bias, one that actually makes sense instead of those feminists that rant about white men while defending Islam.

I wasn't sure what kind of interview this was going to be, based on the title of the show "Femsplainers." This turned out to be one of my favorite JBP appearances. The hosts did a great job, as well.

I avoided the video as well for a while. Also when they were introducing him, I thought, “here we go.” Because it sounded as if they were mocking him a little bit. I’m glad it didn’t end up that way.
I was avoiding it for a while but once stopped to take a good look at thumbnail and knew it wouldn't be GQ type shit because people like that would never even ask Jordan for a pic and he definitely would not smile like that
How can you possibly dislike Dr Peterson when he has conversation with polite, genuine and open people. This is what real human interaction should be like.
probably when you fall into the trap of only engaging with one source or one type of source and when you hear dissenting opinion it makes no sense with 99% of the other information you have perceived and interpreted as closer to the truth. People like that really are in a trap. Not only are they 'forced' by their habits to get angry when they start hearing or thinking such blasphemy and have an almost irresistible urge to stop listening and thinking, but they also, probably without noticing it, add on their own assumptions about him and his message. NOT ONLY THAT, but there's probably a sea of slander and lies about him in whatever type of source they trust, thus reducing the chances of listening to him even more At that point the only thing that can help them is a challenge in the form of an honest experience or a very well-timed and well-articulated message that they received in a time where their mind wasn't in defense mode.
One of the things I love about this man is that he never just starts speaking. He pauses. He actually THINKS, even if it's a simple question. He formulates a response. Then he Speaks His Truth.
He knows that every word he says is under a massive microscope so he's extremely aware of the importance of not misspeaking. It's an amazing skill he has not giving those who want to destroy him any ammo whatsoever. Imagine just how many words he speaks without having to go back in them..mind blowing.

Ruby Badilla I’m trying to understand what kind of person you are. The first part of your comment was your opinion. Then I get some kind of religious and anti homosexual vibe from you, not to mention you put being gay, a meat eater and being a criminal in the same sentence. After that you sound a bit like a religious fanatic. Now ofc. I might be wrong. I’m neither homosexual, PC or religious so I’m mostly asking out of curiosity. It’s just if you’re a fanatic you go into the flat earth box with the rest of the entertainment.
Ruby Badilla Slave? Interesting :). Definitely going in the entertainment box. I’m not only that. I’m also a monster, the worst kind. I’m a hunter so not only so I eat meat. I also kill animals with my own hands. I actually enjoy hunting. I hope you find nirvana or whatever you are looking for. I don’t mind people living by their book, word or other nonsense.
Ruby Badilla Nothing is beneath you it seems. I’m not really bothered by the spelling are you? It’s just for entertainment purposes. A quick reply here and a quick reply there on my phone? I haven’t tasted dog? Have you? Probably doesn’t taste to bad but I normally don’t eat pets :). Slave to what btw? Care to elaborate? Slave to the bible? a book? A prophet? Some holy word? Oh you said dog food? Well I guess I eat dog food or wolf food or lion food? What do you eat? Rabbit food? Cow food, worm food? Pig food? Don’t get me wrong, religion had/has its purpose. The kings used it to control his people, it set boundaries for what is accepted in society. It also was the best way to explain what could not yet be explained with science. It also give/gave people hope. Some moral and ethical codes in religion are good. But mostly for those who have a weak moral/ethical compass to begin with. I respect your wish to not eat meat or kill animals. Just don’t expect the rest of the world to conform to your silly ideas. ;) Also I don’t know where you are from but dog food eater does nothing to me. Neither does slave, you can’t scare me with burning I hell or other such religious things either. Because I can’t be scared of something I don’t believe in, just as I don’t believe eating meat or being homosexual is bad. I just don’t care. The spelling thing was a bit childish but ok, point taken. I’ll take it up with apple since it’s their phone correcting for me.
Definitely one of the most reasonable interviews I've ever seen with Peterson. So many interviewers want to jump to a battle, interrupt, misconstrue statements, and personally attack him instead of listening. They all added to each others' context and included each other in the conversation as well as one could expect. Well done.
And actually was accurate he would be by definition the king of the mansplainers, he is like that fatherly figure that explains you how is more productive to behave and (what a lot of fathers doesn't do) gives you an excellent explanation of why. (Based on data and science)
When I heard that, I actually kinda knew that this would be a sensible interview because the other sjws tend to be hypocritical and pretend that they want an engaging conversation with prof JP

I was wrongly apprehensive to click on this video, I absolutely love Sommers and Crittenden. They are intellectually playful AND attentive! So refreshing and a joy to listen to, definitively looking them up later.
Of course, Jordan Peterson also happens to be a narcissist, a charlatan, and an intellectual con man who doesn't even bother to learn the subjects upon which he lectures. He is a defender of free speech who silences other speakers, a fearless free-thinker who never hesitates to run away from debates, difficult questions, and controversial issues, a philosopher who rejects the conventional definition of truth, and a learned professor who has failed to read most of the great classics of the Western canon. He is, in short, a shameless and unrepentant fraud who lacks even a modicum of intellectual integrity.
@@exterminateexterminate No it is not. Look up Jordan Peterson's past. He works for the CIA. He is antiwhite and works for Jews to destroy India and Europe along with all other nations through extreme individuality. Please look at this man's past.
Jordan Peterson has helped me with my nihilism, I think I've concluded that if there's any meaning to life, it's to notice the art and beauty of every moment and more-so than that: to search for it. It's given me great solace in my perspective of the world around me. I owe this clarity to Jordan Peterson I am very grateful. Thank you!
I think Jordan Peterson has a very well-developed and complete view of society, our place in it, and the pathologies that people are suffering from, but that doesn't make him correct to-for lack of a better term-"oppose" nihilism. It's clear that he has a distaste for the concept and thinks it's responsible for many of our ills, but he can't do much to dispel the notion (or should I say fact) that outside our biological context, the Cosmos at large is indifferent to our presence in it. It's true that we have values instilled in us by our biology, but it's also true that when viewed from outside, none of the things we care about matters in any objective sense. Nihilism is a conceptual inevitability, and I think it makes more sense to come to terms with it rather than to try to obscure it with flowery philosophy.
@@Hey-Its-Sara Man, you would love to read Albert Camus' "The myth of Sisyphus", if you haven't already. I couldn't understand why my two sons started being touchy and aggravated when I discussed feminism or womens issues. I was really upset. They introduced me to the absolute deluge of misandry on the internet masquerading under the term feminism. I was appalled. I thought about it and realised I had completely missed what was happening in their world, and that my own way of discussing things was not acknowledging that massive shift from the aim of equality, or egalitarianism, to 3rd and 4th wave 'feminism'. I made a conscious effort to reframe what I was discussing, give more context, and differentiate my discussions in the context of the situation for men and women in different cultures or countries across the world. Most importantly I articulated what I thought was a challenge for men, and where I was finding it difficult to square circles between the obvious biological differences, rights and role impacts. I'm grateful to my sons for showing me what was happening to feminism and the impact. I was also touched when my son wrote an article on International Womens Day saying he was a feminist (old school) through discussion and empathy with the women in his life, not through indoctrination. My other son agreed. I may be at the point of stopping describing myself as a feminist, because the hijacking has gone too far and just the word causes a barrier that stops the necessary conversations for men and women to solve our challenges together.
The next step will be to Please fully free your sons and tell them to stop using the word feminist to describe themselves. I say this with respect and out of concern for your boys.
Being a feminist should not be a term applicable to men, as a description. Feminism as an ideology should have continued to be striving for equality in respect, justice, education, and economic outcome. It has blown straight past that into: "women are better than men and deserve everything be given back to women that have been taken by the 'patriarchy'!". Well raised and modern men should simply understand we are of equal worth, they don't need a title to describe their identity in how they relate to the female sex. By equal worth, that doesn't mean that we are the same, there are massive differences between our biology's and therefore our gender roles, but by morale worth we are equal. A few months ago I had to explain to my uncle what it has been like growing up with the dawn of the internet til now. Women have changed. Men have changed. The interpersonal relationships between them have started to truly become shallow beyond comparison to previous ages. The part in this interview when Dr. Peterson talks about the creation of birth control becoming one of the most impactful events of the century was truly eye opening. Being a male in the workplace is dangerous now, which, sadly, I know from experience. If anyone in passing conversation or even in meeting for the first time brings up how they describe themselves as a "feminist" I immediately am tense and avoid them from then on, including "male feminists".
Shelley Philcox kudos for your post and the same goes for the many comments, I admire the spirit of encouragement I really do. Feminism has ran its course similar to affirmative action, this idea of quota should not override merit because then it becomes an issue of quality or lack there of. If you’re good at something then go do it, but above all else prove it.

Micah King actually, she’s an intellectual equal to him, and you should read her book. I get your point but if there are any women eligible for the IDW, she’s one. If you examine body language, you’ll see that she learns and communicates via primarily visual and kinesthetic avenues. She watches his gesturing and is actually more polite than you are pretending her to be. She’s clearly very excited to speak with him, if a little socially eccentric.
Jordan B Peterson is a real inspiration, every time I see or hear this man I gain a massive burst of motivation that drives me to do and learn more. As a low key guy in a small back woods town, education wasn't really prevalent or prominent for that matter. In fact the high school faculty pushed and encouraged me drop out of school instead to be better. Looking back now I cant help but feel as if I was robed of my education, but this man has helped to re-spark my interest to learn. Now in my 30's, I spend much of time reading, writing, and exploring new ideas, both in the world and in myself. Dr. Peterson has reformed the way I learn, think and view the world. The stuff about sexual morality was really eye-opening, I never heard it explained that way but my mind opened up and I know it's the truth, that sex is a "dangerous" thing intermingled with love, emotion, relationship, family. Lately society kind of makes it seem like it's for entertainment but at the same time that it's dangerous/ important enough that the state must be involved "in every step" (like, unnaturally). I've always known that but no one explained it to me with a very intellectual approach. This gives me a lot of strength to move forward, in my own life. I want to be more intentional about how I act. Thank you to this wonderful people!
Yeah to me too. I'm a 19 year old boy and I feel that at least in my society, south Asia, boys take sex as a form of entertainment more than girls. He made me realized that sex is also a form of responsibility.

Same, man
How can you possibly dislike Dr Peterson when he has conversation with polite, genuine and open people.
NOT ONLY THAT, but there's probably a sea of slander and lies about him in whatever type of source they trust, thus reducing the chances of listening to him even more
At that point the only thing that can help them is a challenge in the form of an honest experience or a very well-timed and well-articulated message that they received in a time where their mind wasn't in defense mode.
One of the things I love about this man is that he never just starts speaking. He pauses. He actually THINKS, even if it's a simple question. He formulates a response. Then he Speaks His Truth.
not his truth but THE truth
He knows that every word he says is under a massive microscope so he's extremely aware of the importance of not misspeaking. It's an amazing skill he has not giving those who want to destroy him any ammo whatsoever. Imagine just how many words he speaks without having to go back in them..mind blowing.
bigrikkib HIS truth is an idea that should be destroyes
These woman represents the actual feminine nature .Rather than other stupid journalist thinks being bossy and masculine makes them strong woman .
@Dave Rodriguez lol you're e god damn right
Masculine traits are proven to help in the work place it is fine for women to have masculine traits that doesn’t correlate with whether the person is bad or not because if it did you would be saying that men are bad. u really should actually listen to what Jordan Peterson says and leave behind ur previous ideologies and try to challenge your own thoughts and opinions on whether they are right or not.

It is important to acknowledge all traits to make a strong person

Just don’t expect the rest of the world to conform to your silly ideas. ;)
Also I don’t know where you are from but dog food eater does nothing to me.

I’m so glad to hear this. I myself am starting to come out of my nihilism phase and JP has helped me too! Lots of support to you
congratulations John. I have had a similar experience

Women need to be women and men be men, we both need to respect and empower each other respectfully to succeed

The stuff about sexual morality was really eye-opening, I never heard it explained that way but my mind opened up and I know it's the truth, that sex is a "dangerous" thing intermingled with love, emotion, relationship, family.
