      Patrick, thank you so much for being so incredibly polite and thoughtful in this interview with Dr.Peterson. I have to say that you are one of the best to watch in an interview. I really appreciate your ability to ask questions and then listen to the answers and let people finish their answer entirely before commenting or asking more questions. Anymore these days, people are so one sided and brainwashed that if they hear something they don't agree with or they think is wrong, they have to instantly blurt out a reply or comment in the middle of the other person speaking, and most of the time it's a , subliminally programmed BS comment meant to confuse or confound the other person.
      I am so thankful that you were able to shed light on the man himself in such a thorough, insightful and amazing way. You certainly have a unique perspective and seeing you interact with someone with an equally unique but different perspective is truly heart warming.

      thepdw Not sure if this was meant as encouragment or to detract from Dr. Petersons work. I will only say that if I were running headlong over a cliff and a man stopped me from doing so, he deserves aknowledgement, and my humblest thanks for intervening. Nothing else moved me more than the way he explained the structures we find ourselves in. For helping when all else was leading me to anger I do owe him my thanks. • @deborahkate1849
      @deborahkate1849 6 лет назад +13

      @@SolZaer sol... unfortunately this is true... The real truth is; the women that give Jordan such a hard time, actually like him, and feel safe at an unconscious level. The falsely programmed mind of the Feminist doesn't understand that a true alpha male is exceedingly fair, generous, protective, provisional, and prepared and able to fight for the sustenance of the family, the community and the world. These attributes are highly attractive to women, whether they have been brainwashed or not. I have watched this same phenomenon happen with Christopher Hitchens, when surrounded by Feminists. They practically drooled over him, and thus tried harder to keep that attraction repressed, by putting on a male mask. As far as the beta male... they're the most insecure of the two... not in contact with their own manhood, having mistaken manhood as the hard and walled off, Macho stereotype. They live in a nether world of a completely destabilized identity, scared to be a man, and scared of the militant, intolerant, non nurturing female. When in the presence of someone like Jordan, they assume an air of arrogance, non resilient thought, and an inability to listen, because they are scared shitless of the reflection from another man who actually isn't afraid of the positive nature of being a man. It's all fucked up...inverted.... such is the world, at the moment.
      Men need to be proud of being men. Men need to reclaim their dignity, and women need to come to their senses, and protect that dignity in their little boys, their husbands and boyfriends, and themselves. A lonely world awaits us all otherwise.

      @@deborahkate1849 "The falsely programmed mind of the Feminist doesn't understand that a true alpha male is exceedingly fair, generous, protective, provisional, and prepared and able to fight for the sustenance of the family, the community and the world"
      Not only feminist women fail to understand this. That walled off, macho stereotype? I see a lot of men attempting to embody that - and I don't just mean the classic, chronically rejected 'mgtow' type, but also young men who really consider themselves to be normal, even 'winners'/alpha types, and it's just as tragic to see. It's in part a feeble attempt to emulate what they think an alpha male is like without understanding the concept at more than a surface level, and in part a self-fulfilling prophecy of the feminist dogma.
      Go around shouting in all the universities that this is what men are like, and about how unfair an advantage it gives them over women, and a lot of young men will accordingly think 'well, I guess everyone's doing it so it's normal enough, nobody ever said life is fair and if I can get an advantage I will bloody well take it! Besides, these feminists are clearly crazy, so it can't be that bad, AND I would quite like to have the advantage of dominance over women [following typical immature logic that more dominance will equal more sex and so on...which it rarely does, except in some cases at great expense to other important dimensions in the relationship], so I'd better get some of that now while the getting is good!'
      The main issue as I see it, is the belief in young men that a unidimensional competence (usually physical strength) will place them in a godlike position relative to women (and everyone else), and it's true to a limited degree, in the sense that physical strength does facilitate more competencies in men than most other qualities, but they're all derivations of that single basic competency, and this is often being used as a way of getting by without character and virtue, or other worthwhile abilities (the vast array of skills, knowledge and wisdom involved in the proper maintenance of a household and a family ie). If their competence doesn't extend beyond the physical then it unravels quickly, or they'll pair up with a woman with equally shallow priorities and often grow quite miserable as a result.
      To that extent I do think there's some validity in the basic feminist critique of men (except to the degree they make it out like it's all men, or even a particularly large proportion), but there's nothing about their methodology that helps with the issue, and there's a decent case to suggest their approach makes things worse.

      @trollnerd what makes you think he doesn't? He cares about them very much, just as much as he does men. He has no agenda against women, he just sees that a lot of young men in our society are struggling with, what id argue is coming of true age. Men are really not being told what they need to do to be successful, instead were being told racism and sexism is out fault by the radical left (who have completely taken over western media and the educational establishments)

    • @MenmaOG
      @MenmaOG 6 лет назад +107

      @trollnerd it's not about being a victim at all it's actually the opposite and you are saying the same thing he is. his whole point is that we ARENT victims but I'd be surprised how many people seriously act like that. It's not a secret that the radical left have occupied pop culture and educational institution. All he's saying is to teach yourself responsibility, and to grow up and realize how much you, as an individual have to offer society. Doesn't matter if your a boy, girl, black, white, Hispanic, etc. Seriously I urge you to genuinely give him a listen, he just wants what's best for society. It simply cannot be done without that very discipline. Congratulations!
      I am so happy for you and everyone who has been influenced by him. You can't learn, improve, recover, whatever it is you seek, without being the active seeker yourself.
      Its such a blessing to be able to listen to and learn from a brilliant, but more importantly, completely relatable man.
      I listen intently to what he says, usually hitting reverse to listen again to the past couple sentences or the last paragraph so that I can absorb all of it....and might I add that we can all absolutely learn for free.
      I consider Mr Peterson an extremely generous man for giving all he does to anyone who is willing to seek the truth, learn how we can all be better people with higher standards for ourselves.

    • Top-heavy administration, that keeps growing
    • Increase in part-time, untenured faculty members
    • Insane increases in tuition, combined with indentured servitude for students
    -They've figured out how to get at the students' future earnings
    -Offer extended adolescence at the cost of the future self (easy trade for most children)

      Online self-driven education is definitely on the rise, especially in computer oriented fields: computer programming, graphic design, data science, etc. and employers are open, and increasingly so, to candidates with great ability without formal education.
      Technical Community Colleges are great at teaching the hands-on skills for hot job markets for reasonable prices. There are plenty of licensure courses for social work,counseling, ministry, etc. as well as business/financial/insurance agents.
      As for understanding how society works: history, economics, politics, religion, etc. go to the library, the used books store, talk to your neighbors and people unlike you in terms of lifestyle occupation or background, interview experts (or watch them). There's not a great reason why that has to be kept in ivory towers.

    I never get sick of watching videos of J.P. speaking about anything, even repeated subjects, but nothing like a great long interview/talk...doesn't matter. J.P.'s one lucky human who has found his mission in life, and I'm extremely grateful for him. Humanity needs more Jordan Petersons.

      Gotta ask what your other two are. ?? I've probably seen it already, but I gotta make sure. Its to painful to think that Jordan Peterson might have said something that I haven't heard. lol

      I liked the one with Dr. Oz. 2hr 40mn or so with Oz engaged in active listening and responding with quality questions.

    I just found peterson today...yes I live under a rock with a video game. Best speaker I've ever heard and the world sorely needs his voice. Most of the debates I hear focus on the tree but cant see the forest this man surely can

      Im relatively new to Mr. Peterson as well. However, in a short time he has opened my eyes in a very impactful way. Ive learned more from him in a few short months, than i did from any other person in perhaps the last Decade.

      Hey man I love my video games, but you've gotta be careful with them. Its really easy to have them distract you from things that badly need your attention, and the decay can creep into your life before you realize.
