Fellow vegetarian here from Tiruvannamalai. I’ve always avoided Coromandel Cafe during my visits considering it to be too touristy and over-rated! Maybe I’ll try it next time I’m there! Thanks for the detailed reviews! 🙏 A bit surprised you didn’t review Baker Street. May I also recommend Chez Artizan & PY Cafe. Do try it next time!
Thank you very much. I did visit Baker street, but to reduce the length of this video, I didn't add in this episode. Will include it in future. Sure, I will try Chez Artizan and PY Cafe in next visit. By the way, I am a flexible vegetarian. :)
Your video was a welcome addition to the food vlogs already on RUclips. I am regularly watching the Tamil language BANANA LEAF UNLIMITED by one Manoj Kumar with his wife and two sons. He gives the prices of each item he shows and also tells a few points about the origin and growth over the years for every joint he visits. In Hindi I have seen the vlogs by one Harish Bali. For those who can understand Hindi his food reviews are very good.
Thank you very much. Do subscribe and keep watching. 😊 I too like the vloggers Manoj Kumar and Harish Bali, you’ve mentioned for their unique style and content .🙂
Your videos are a treat to the eyes. Happy to see you explore and research various restaurants in Pondicherry. I would love to see you explore many such places in Pondicherry one more time. Your concept of 24 hours food is very good and innovative. Keep doing many such videos.
I wanted to make a small suggestion that I think could add even more value to your content. Could you consider mentioning the prices of the items you taste in your videos? Knowing the cost of each item would be really helpful for viewers like myself who might be interested in trying them out.
@@indragirirajkumar644 Noted... I have mentioned the location in the video description. For some places in this video, I have mentioned how old they are. Sure, will do more of it in future videos.
Thanks. Yes, definitely. If you want budget stay, you can try Veeras Residency, Hotel Annamalai International, Shenbag Hotel etc., In the higher end category, you can try Richmond, Maison De Perumal, Promenade, etc.,
Best and most economical place for brahmin home food for lunch and evening tiffin is Gyanananda Foods situated at Chetty street , opposite to REPCO Bank. Run by a young brahmin couple , this clean and hygienic mess serves very tasty vegetarian lunch between 11 am to 2 pm just for Rs 100 only. The items include rice, poriyal, koottu , sambar, vathakuzhambu , rasam , moru, pickle and appalam . Evening tiffin items include chapathi, kuruma, idly, dosa, uthapam, masala kulcha. A heavy tiffin may just cost you just Rs 100 or less. Home service through Swiggy or zomato is also available . That will be little more expensive. This Mess is open on all days except Sundays . When in Pondy, just drop in. Most bank managers around this place prefer to eat lunch only here instead of regular restaurants. I am a regular visitor to this place.
Of the three Colonial architectures in India British, French and Portgese in India, I am of the view French architecture in Pondy is best. Heritage buildings are well maintained. Goa (Portgese) has few Heritage buildings in Panjim and Madgaon has many. But, New Goa taking its toll on old buildings. British structures in TN and Kolkatta are not so well maintained. Rest is history. 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Couldn't agree more and happy to hear from another soul who is interested in these colonial architectures. It is surprising that Portuguese entered India via Kerala and the heritage buildings are not much seen there. The Dutch had also spent considerable amount of time in India, but you will find very few buildings of Dutch architecture in Kochi, Kerala, nothing beyond that.
@ Shankar Your Videos are very good and well researched but Can I give you one feedback ? After tasting very bite of any dish you close your eyes a lot - don't do it . Does not look good every time - once in a while is fine . Just a feedback - you accept it or not, your wish
The ambience was very poor in Indian Coffee House. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The most significant issue I encountered was the hotel's poor ventilation system. From the moment I entered the hotel, there was a persistent and unpleasant eggy smell in the air.
Pondy I feel food is pathetic, so much hype about Indian coffee but ok ..don't expect much..for a big city like pondy not many good veg restaurants...opportunities for sangeetha, geetham ,krishna sweets and trichy Ramas..
Agree, you should tuck the mic to your shirt. Not only it will allow you to enjoy the food freely but also allow you to express your self better. The voice is still good when the mic is tucked to your shirt.
Thanks for the suggestion. When the mic was attached to the shirt, the sound quality went bad in few instances and the microphone picked up more external noise. Future videosgalalli khandita try madtini.
Most of these places in Pondicherry city are French patisseries and very rare to find egg less options. However, if you visit Auroville, you will get couple of Vegan/Eggless options like Auroville Bakery, Dreamer's Cafe- Visitors Center etc.,
Mysore Bonda recipe has variations and the most common version is Maida based which is similar to Goli Baje. Only in TN, I 've seen Mysore bonda made with Urad dal. Most of the popular recipes for Mysore Bonda on internet suggests using Maida only. hebbarskitchen.com/mysore-bonda-recipe-mysore-bajji/ www.indianhealthyrecipes.com/mysore-bonda-recipe/
Though it looks like a masal vadai, it is thavalai vadai only. Since I have tasted it, I am saying this. I know the difference in taste and texture between these two vadais, as I am tasting them for more than 4 decades. :)

Thanks Chandru. So nice of you to watch the video and providing your comments. Another Pondy video that covers more places is in the making. :)
This is your best video , in my opinion
Do you think so? Thanks!!!

Normally, I add the prices but, in this video, since I visited multiple places didn't save the bills. Sure, will do for future videos.
The content can be enhanced if you make a mention about the location and how old the place is..

Oh that was unfortunate. This Indian Coffee House in Pondy is the only vegetarian ICH outlet, I think.
No in kanchipuram 2 veg ICH outlets r there@@foodNfoodonly

Indian coffee house is overvrated, high price and unhygienic.

Can you suggest no onion no garlic jain food available
You can try at Dilliwala 6, Shree Balaji Mess, Jiyo Veg Restaurant. They are not completely Jain restaurants but offer some Jain food.

To eliminate external noise in crowded environment.
