Should have graded them out of 10 . I noticed the spoon given in several places is too small & presentation very poor ; sambar spilling , the bowl margins even showing water (from the cleaning basin perhaps). The sambar looking viscous definitely contain starch ; that's terrifying .

Think twice. Once I had bitter experience. The chutney wad stale. The result I had naucea, vomittinh, and பேதி. Suffered for 4 days after hospitalisation.

Nothing to beat the sambar taste of Ratna Cafe and Lakshmi Sagar, opp. Adyar Telephone Exchange. I would rate Lakshmi Sagar higher than Ratna Cafe.

It must be karuvepalai nor coriander. Have you been to karpagam mess in Mylaporeand Annapoorna near Marundishwarar koil, thiruvanmur? Those two are really good.

Don't you ever entered Indian coffee house at T nagar bus Terminus, Welcome hotel at purasaiwakkam. Ratna cafe Triplicane little expensive. Near by my house getting for ₹6, ₹7, ₹8. Moong dal can be use for Kaddappa, which is the best side dish for all tiffin items. Bangalore sambar always sweet, by jaggery. At Bangalore in Majestic circle you can get anywhere and in cheap.

You should try "Idli Vadai Sambhar", IVS, they have two brances to my knowledge, one in Thiruvamyur and the other at Thoraipakkam. The one in Thoraipakkam is upscale. Except for Murugan Idli Kadai, I haven't tried the other nine. Will try all these on my next trip. Interestingly you did not mention A2B or Sangeetha/Geetham, in my opinion they barely pass. I am from Coimbatore and I am still going around the world to find a place which is half as good as our Annapurna 🤣😃😂

No. Bangalore is very expensive. In Chennai, there are all types of hotels I.e., street food, one star, two star, three star Five star and even seven star. But the taste and quality of idly and dosa in all these hotels is out standing

They charge rs 200 for a plate of meals but they still want us to remove the plates after eating. The the same is followed in Trichy Rama cafe and thiruvana Kovil parthasarathi Vilas. The food at these places are excellent and the price is really cheap and not even 1/4th of the price mentioned at Kayil canteen. The food at Kayil canteen is typical hotel food and there are far more better outlets that serve excellent food for lesser price.
