Unfortunately, walmart is starting to hire a bunch of run of the mill dirty, bad attitude drivers, but on the upside, they dont last long. I've noticed more trash and facilities not being as clean because of these cockroaches. I see many new drivers getting fired over safety issues (hitting poles, pulling trailers out of docks without checking if people or freight are still in the trailer).I run out of a grocery D.C and we stay moving. The only thing I hate is slip seating trucks.
I interviewed at Walmart. They asked me if I had any pet peeves with other truck drivers. I said yes. I don't like the way some of them leave trash, and urine bottles everywhere. I didn't get hired because I said that.

I have heard there is a school. But can't get good information on it yet. I'll try to get some information and make a video soon. There is an associate to driver program if you have worked at Walmart for 1 year
There is a long list. You can see them at drive4walmart.com click on any position titled truck driver and scroll down. The short- 30 months experience within the last 36 months
Divid your gross pay into you entire time spent at work witch is roughly 110 hrs a week . And tell them how much you pay for medical including the out of pocket amount. Then tell everyone how great it is driving around with a mattress strapped to your back .
Damn that sucks 😂, I was at a Walmart distribution center and talked to a driver, he said 3 days pays 110k and 4 day 140k and 5th day is just driving back so you don't have time to work any more, and no weekends but he didn't mention that you lived in the truck 😂😂

What exactly did you study for?
What kind of test in orientation do you do in on boarding?
Do you guys fuel at any of the big truck stops?? If each state only has 1 DC and 100s of Walmarts, how many loads do you pull a day to different Walmarts, do you drop, and hook an empty, and bring it back to the DC??
Depends maybe 1 to 3 trailers a day vendors stores and distribution centers. Plenty of DC's. Just Google Walmart distribution center near me
@@walmartprofessionaldriver I live in Michigan... there's only 1 DC, it's in Coldwater Michigan, sometimes there'll be trucks from the Indiana DC, but my state has 94 Walmarts plus all the Sam's Club's... and you only pull 3 trailers a day??
@americanwalmarts3565 1 out of the Distribution center to the store. That's a drop and hook. You the #2 empty from the store to a vendor and drop and hook to #3 back the the yard and you may even get off the and efore you shut down with #4
@@americanwalmarts3565 350 to 550 miles a day. Plus activity pay
@@walmartprofessionaldriver what vendors do you take them too?? Like food plants?? There's a water plant on 131 about 40 miles North of Grand Rapids MI... is that a vendor??
Do you have a better shot if you are currently with another company running dedicated Walmart?
Makes no difference. They follow the minimum requirements to the letter. That's all that matters
I put myself on medical leave on previous job.
Interstingly, I work at Walmart (in-store) and whenever im eating my lunch in my car, I see one of the big trucks with the huge Walmart logo, I always wonder where they came from and where they are going to next. Always wishing them well on the road. 🚛
I've had a rough night and I just want you to know that your comment made me happy. There still is good people out there
Thank you for the info
Have an interview Wednesday!! Fingers crossed
Was it a phone interview? And what happened did u anything happen
That's the downside of trucking is that yes you can make alot of money, but you're also dedicating 80+ hours a week while only getting paid for 40 of those hours.
Ya I clock 60 hours of work then sleep in the truck yup
Where is the closest DC to Philadelphia?
Google Walmart distribution near me and then look for that city and truck driver position on drive4walmart.com. use a reference even if it's not me. Better luck at a fast hire
Pottsville, PA
I have been employed with Walmart for 8 months just now getting used to working 14 hours everyday if you do not want to work 14-hour days this would not be for you.
I average 51 to 57 hours a week
The first 5 minutes are the most important of the video, you have very little detail about what’s it’s like working for Walmart. Should have lead with the pay, time off, orientation, cpm, types of trucks driven, experience needed/no experience, explain if offer Otr/regional. Add nuance and detail.
So if you ask for time off do they allow that? Like as an example one month from now if you needed a week off would they allow that?
Ya it can be the day before. This is the easiest it can get to take time off
Do you know if they have a rider policy and if so what it includes. As far as brining one of your kids on the road for a week.
We do. I made a video about it. You can have someone with you all year
Did you guys get bumped up to 70mph ? Been coming across quit a few doing more than 65
Not that I know of. Downhill?
Here in Massachusetts it would be weird if I didn't see one doing any less that 70,75
Does Walmart fire drivers for not getting vaccinated?
You’re from the Central Valley?
Good afternoon. Your my contact person that I started back in June to complete my app. Only problem is I came in with their old online web to do the app, they built a new online web to fill out the app and just over 2 months have passed and my app isn't done yet at all. I have hit all of the glitches in the new system and no one knows what to do to help me. At the end I had to create a all new me and start at the beginning like I just now applied for the first time. This is my negative side to walmart so far but I will make it through. Once I am in then all is good. Your name will still be on my app as my contact. Take care and talk soon. Stay safe
That's a bummer, but a small hiccup.. thanks for putting my name on your application. Email me when they set you up with an onboarding date. I have something that will help you
@@walmartprofessionaldriver I will do that. Thank you.
Are tbey local oris this over theroad? Will they hire me str8 out of school??
No, you will need 30 months experience
Does anyone know if any Walmart can help you get your cdl?
They have a program for walmart employees. (Store employees) walmart will pay for truck driving school.. then attend a walmart driving academy, then train with a walmart driver, then you are sent to your home D.C All training is done in the Dallas Ft. Worth area.
What else should we be studying for after I get my cdl ? I have yard Experience so I have backing skills .. 6 moths what else should I be studying for ?
to get hired its just 45 degree backing in tight spots with tandems forward and the pre trip and road test. so just take your pre trip seriously and take every opportunity to back in hard spots don't be afraid to get out and look. after you hit the experience requirement you should be ready
Okay sounds like a bet
Does Walmart train you do get your CDL or do they want people w experience ?
If you work for Walmart they can train you. Otherwise you need 30 months experience
@@walmartprofessionaldriver they accept people w no experience right ? I tried to do that w JBS , & they said I need a CDL , when I’m the website it says they train people to get the CDL. Maybe the recruiter didn’t wanna train any newbies
@@walmartprofessionaldriver when you say work @ Walmart , I can be working in any position & they will be willing to train me ? For example, like being a stocker ?
@DaVinci the only way Walmart will train you is of you don't have a cdl AND you already work for Walmart in the stores or warehouses. If not you need your cell and 30 months experience
@DaVinci ya pretty sure. Probably a minimum 1 year as employee and depends where you are in the country. The program is in select locations. Ask your manager if you store is in an eligible area
Help.please. I’ll give you the bonus heard from you. WTF. 43. zero arrest. Zero accidents in any vehicle. Past 4 years OO lol lost here.
they make 22 an hour here. Not even close to that salary. Not sure where you get your info?
22 an hour where? As a Walmart driver? Our on-boarding rate is 25 per hour lol. My current hourly is over 38 and I slack
Most people I know who hustle are between 40 to 43
Where Can I apply?
Ebb and flow, are you in the masons? Pretty particular words
Lol nope
What if you fail onboarding? Do you have to wait a certain period to try again later?
Yes and it's always changing. 1 to 6 months
@@walmartprofessionaldriver thanks for answering my questions.
Do yall think this is better long term than LTL? Like etes, OD, Saia linehaul?
Heck ya lol. The benefits alone. 25 days off first year
I worked for SAIA and now work for walmart... it's about the same if you want to be home every night or spend 4 nights in a walmart truck.
@@robertwadejones1013😂😂😂😂😂😂 why would you say that?
I am going to onboarding in September do you remember if I have to take a physical then ? Also the color blindness test was it a chart on the wall or numbers hidden in dots ? Enjoy your videos
Physical is after onboarding. Don't remember taking a color blindness test. I remember eye sight test was on the wall at the particular clinic that they sent me to.
Thanks I appreciate your reply drive safe
How'd it go? Do they do hair follicle tests?
It's both where they sent me, it's the eye test on wall with colors and them the thing you look in that hides numbers
Does Walmart Private Fleet have driver facing cameras?
No. Forward only with in cab audio. Only active in an "event" 12 seconds
@@walmartprofessionaldriver Thanks for getting back to me man. My current company has forward only as well but no audio, 30 seconds. Does your truck keep a record of the audio only during an "event"? Trucking makes you say some colorful words while driving alone for nearly 11 hours a day.
@@AverageChungus ya only during an event
If I may ask a stupid question: What is onboarding? The training process?
Whats on boarding
Are you still in Walmart? I used your information for referral .
What do you mean studying? For what?
Onboarding has definitely not gotten easier I went through it May 2024 6 outta 10 pass I don’t know who you been talking too
Really? That difficult it was?
Not really difficult but the trainers make it stressful and annoying a lot of guys got nervous and ended up messing up getting sent home
Will they hire without any experience. The only experience I have is driving in CDL school and driving hostlers for Amazon.
No minimum experience is 30 months. It's on there website. And the requirements change often so that can go up or down
How long did it take the recruiters to call you. My husband just applied like 3 weeks ago
Well when I applied it wasn't a rush of people now it's common for a few weeks but I just had someone tell me he's at 2 months. If your husband put someone down as a reference that person can ask HR to check the status
Do you know if Walmart tries to hire internally first?
We hire first come first serve. Using a reference is the only way to just the line. We have an associate to driver program with you can find more information on onewalmart.com. you might be able to apply directly on drive4walmart.com if it has an option in the beginning of the application to select associate to driver program. Not too sure about the last option. Maybe
@walmartprofessionaldriver Thanks. Hopefully, I can get into the next associate to driver class since I've been with the company for so long.
Question is it mandatory for drivers to have a vaccination because Biden said the pandemic is over
Has never been mandatory for Walmart drivers
"Because Biden said" 🖕🏾sleepy Joe
Do you still have to slip seat when your a new driver and do you still get crappy schedules like Tuesdays threw Saturday?
Slip seating is rare and certainly not every week. Some dcs don't even do it. And most likely you will have Saturday and Sunday in your work week in the beginning. They pay you more if you work weekends. I choose to work weekends still
Another truck driver don't like to follow the rules.
Gotta watch at 1.5x speed
Pro tip
Do Walmart offer training or do u need experience
I have heard there is a school. But can't get good information on it yet. I'll try to get some information and make a video soon. There is an associate to driver program if you have worked at Walmart for 1 year
Do u have to chain up and run in snow??
Ya if the conditions permit we are expected to chain
Does the DCs have showers and laundry??
No laundry. We have uniforms and a laundry service that cleans our uniforms off site. Yes on showers with towels provided
What is Walmarts driving requirements?
3 days pay 110 k , if you believe that I have some ocean front property in Arizona I’ll sell you .
