    I got my first Reclast infusion for osteoporosis and I had a server reactions chills, feaver jaw and server back and ribs felt like I was beat up and I couldn’t hardly breathe! that my doctor had me on prednisone and I am still feeling the symptoms! that lasted for almost 2 weeks! I can’t do another infusion!

      Sounds like you had an acute severe reaction. So sorry this happened to you. When this medication is necessary people should be prepared - hydration for days before, making sure vitamin D is at 45 ng/mL for the previous 6 weeks and calcium - 1,500 mg/day from all sources. If either of these are low then an acute reaction is more possible because Reclast can significantly lower serum calcium and we need vitamin D to metabolize calcium. There is no free lunch and we have to make decisions regarding risk and benefits. If you have had low trauma fractures then the suffering now may prevent a more serious suffering later on.     This was 5 years ago. Are there updates to this study? My endo wants me to take reclast since i can’t take oral bisphosphonates.

    Dr. Simpson you are such a blessing. If ever I wished cloning were legal, it would be people like you who would need to be cloned.

    Don’t comment on a study you haven’t read. You pose several questions- duh - read the study. Irresponsible.
