I love him so much. His face when King David mentioned Going Up, you can tell he genuinely forgot. 😆 Argh, this was a joy to watch, I love how patient David is and how he's able to steer the conversation. Stellar work! I find that Robert is reserved, he's been acting for so long but I don't recall ever reading or watching an interview he's done, maybe that's what made the episode look challenging. It takes a great level of maturity, presence and emotional intellect to really connect with a subject who isn't so open to share details about himself.
Dave, this was one of your best interviews, well done. However, I get the feeling that your guest was not an easy one. You tried hard to get information from him, but he was not really keen to share more details about his career. That could go with his personality. Robert remains one of our best actors and I truly wish him well!!
I think it's because of age...older people it's hard to get information out of them...memory and they're just generally a bit difficult. I think one must interview them with that knowledge and understand they're In a different world
I have to commend you on your interviewing skills King David. You kept the conversation flowing so well. It looks like it was somewhat a challenging interview but it was awesome! Enjoyed it alot
Baker Haines has been the best person I've known😊 that voice brings back lovely high school memories. Thank you David, thank you Mr Whitehead for coming to see us❤
Bra Dave did incredibly well with this interview, I'm impressed by his optimism and the way he sustained it... Barker Heins will remain my favourite character ever!
I think Mr. Whitehead came with his guard up. Only seemed to be relaxed towards the end of the interview. You are amazing at what you do, King David. Well done.
Isidingo was the only soapie iwas following and giving my heart to❤..Iwas 17 when Lee died and I felt like I lost a sister,💔💔😥.....iloved this soapie ❤
Speaking of Sarafina, will you please invite Somizi Mhlongo? I'd like to hear his story. I think his story is worth documenting just from the little that we know already
I think we can and should forgive Mr Robert Whitehead for saying I don't know or not remembering...he is very old and I'd imagine as one get older mentally it's rough although he still looks good. It was painful at times, I hope David didn't take it difficult or personal. Interviewing someone old must be very tricky.
He hovers over his upbringing, over that time period. Its as if he really offered us the bare minimum to that story. The time period, and the reasons behind getting rid of his ZA passport... There could have been depth to his responses but he wasn't giving us his narrative. His truth. Unless his truth has changed from then and now, it then makes it difficult to discuss such things. He is a storyteller. He is capable, he just chose not to.
I hear you. Funny enough some black stories back then would be written by white people. I guess we need to give each other room to actually be honest about our communities and portray it on screen as you said. I know it may not be enough but doesn’t Kyknet already do this?
@Mr.ExtrodinUniverse mostly it's Afrikaans.. remember the show "home affairs" and how we got to learn about white lady? Yes... I think we need intergrated stories like that...
Hai ngeke bra Mdeva, you need to try and have an intro for your guests. These are legends that you're interviewing and they deserve a splendid intro, please.

Haven't seen him on our screens in a long time ey.
A legend! Was pleasantly surprised to see him reunited with "Cherel" Michelle Botes recently on a soapie on MNET. Unfortunately, it was canceled.

"this or that" Robert Whitehead and King David😁

Truly how I felt as well
Barkr Haines ❤
The man made King David work hard during the interview. Very closed off in the beginning
Yeah

I can't wait for day we have white south Africa stories told on national TV.. we don't know each other

you’re confusing him with Jamie Bartlet (David Genaro)
