My friend and I were wringing our socks out after this ride, soaked head to toe and anither guest stopped with a look of absolute horror on her face and wanted to know which ride we went on so she could avoid it 🤣
Love this ride! Got on twice in one day, back to back. One of those people dryers and a full day walking around in the sun later, and I was still soaked 😂
One of the few Raft rides to actually get you soaking wet, most get you slightly wet or just bait you into thinking you're going to get wet. Went on this like 13-14 years ago and I remember me and my whole family coming off soaked from head to toe
I hate this ride because there’s no element of chance to it like other raft rides. There are just waterfalls that soak you no matter what every time it’s not actually anything to do with the movement of the raft that splashes it’s just waterfalls and jets.
I used to hate water rides where you got absolutely soaked, because I hated walking around the rest of the theme park with wet clothes. Even nowadays with those dryers that they always have, they never get you completely dry, plus the price to use them is normally extortionate! Yet I went on this ride, got absolutely drenched, and because it was a baking hot Florida day I was dry within what felt like mere minutes of getting off the ride. And I had such a blast that I got right back in the queue to ride it again!
Thanks for the "quiet place" tip, that part of the park gets a little crazy congested at times! I loved seeing the trial runs! I have wanted to be a part of designing and building one of these attractions since before WDW opened!!
Truly one of the best rides at universal and yet one not a lot of people talk about, I remember during my childhood everytime I went to universal I always wanted to ride this and the employees were always so kind and let me ride twice, even if it means it’ll get too busy for me to ride it immediately twice again I hope more people learn about this lovable water ride
This is the best episode that has appeared this year so far! Popeye is a world sensation is a very very good comic and I still read some to this day! This channel gets better every day!
I would love to see you cover the history of Dollywood. I grew up going there from 1989-2015. I love that park and no one ever covers it. Love your channel!
Awesome and insightful video. I feel like you’ve done the majority of the e-ticket attractions and more. I don’t want the USF/IOA videos to come to an end. They’re so good. So I guess I’ll give my longtime suggestion of Poseidon’s Fury or better yet a comprehensive video on The Lost Continent-and a new one, Doctor Doom’s Fear Fall? Once again thanks to Jack for explaining the ride story that is missed due to all the chaos on this attraction. Keep up the great content. 👍🏻
Isn't Florida getting a revamped Jurassic Park [World] update? Or is that in California? That would be a good time to revisit the ride maybe? [so tired of the old animatronics!]
Popeye is the greatest! I love the comics, cartoons and of course the Robin Williams film. The Popeye ride and area is easily one of my favorites in all of Islands Of Adventure.
I love it when you cover Universal attractions, especially those designed by Gary Goddard. His work at Universal is legit one of my biggest inspirations. Great video!!
As a person who loooooves Popeye but hates water rides, thanks for doing the coverage on this ride! No suggestions from me, just keep doing what you’re doing because I love your channel!
Can you do Mickey’s Philharmagic and Fantasmic Also, this isn’t related to the Ride: Popeye is the one to have a restaurant where people like to have a cat fight at for some reason. Look those up
My 2nd favorite water ride. It is certainly the best of all the round boat style water rides. We were among the first of the public to ride it - we attended the first pre-opening day at IoA, Popeyes wasn't open at the beginning of the day but around mid-day we lucked up to be walking by when a team member started telling people it would open soon. We went ahead and lined up, having no idea what to expect. We made it onto the 3rd boat!
Oh man, I remember Popeye growing up, loved the show and knowing this exists makes me wanna ride it! I love Popeye and water rides! Thanks for this, really, knowing that such a ride exists.
My family’s favorite ride. To end the week we rode it 15 times in a row continuously over 3 hours. Only stopped because the Sun went down. Highly recommended.
Ahhh, I have such fond memories of this ride! I'm happy to hear it's still there =D when I was younger, it was one of the first 'Thrill Rides' I ever rode. It was great and prepared me for the Jurassic Park ride and now they're my favorite rides at Islands of adventure. Another A+ video! May I suggest Fantasmic for a future video? Not a ride but easily the best and most interesting thing at MGM/Hollywood Studios!
This ride never fails to soak me to the skin when I ride it. When my family and I are in toon lagoon, we do this and Ripsaw Falls back to back first thing, leaving us to spend the rest of our time in the area sun drying. It’s a pretty effective schedule.
I remember on our last day in Orlando in 2005, the park was basically empty at the end of the day, and the ride operator just let us keep on going in the ride. We must have ridden it 20 times in a row. It was the best.
Like always this video is AWSOME, congratulations Theme Park History, I was missing a video from you, and “Welcome to Theme Park History, the Channel with everything to do with theme parks, old and new, big and small” ❤️❤️
Sorry to have kept you waiting, glad you enjoyed it Timtam! I was a bit nervous about the video, as there really wasn't much info about the construction of the attraction that I could find.
One of my favorite memories was riding this with my family. We got on right before the park closed and it was pretty dark out. We didn’t realize how wet you got and we all had to walk back to our hotel room in the dark completely drenched 😂 I’ll never forget that
AMAZING VIDEO!!!! I emphatically enjoy every Theme Park History video - keep up the incredible work!!!! And as a suggestion for the next Theme Park History I would love to see a Theme Park History video on “Tennessee Tornado” at Dollywood as it was the parks first major coaster, it was the spawn for the installment of many more thrilling coaster additions that has made Dollywood a coaster enthusiast destination, and I believe it was Arrow Dynamic’s or Ron Toomers last coaster so I feel it would make a sensational “Theme Park History” video of the month! PLEASE 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
There's some pretty fascinating history at Lagoon Amusement park in Utah. Specifically the terroride and Dracula's castle. They were made by one of the most famous haunted house ride makers. I think even for yourself you'd like to look into their history.
Of all the theme park rides I've ever been on, this is the only one that makes me laugh the whole time. You're constantly approaching a spot where someone will get doused. The anticipation builds so much tension... then you get wet and scream from the shock or someone across from you does and you hoot and holler at their expense. By the time you get off, you'll basically be as wet as you would if you had jumped into a swimming pool but this is more fun!
Haunted Mansion is such a historic ride at Disney Land and Disney World that it would be the best History of ! Btw love the vids! Just started watching 3 months ago and already seen them all
dudley soaked our front, popeye our back sides... we were quite surprised to say the least. in germany you do not get that wet on water rides... holy smokes that was awesome!
This is one of my favorite rides of all time. OF ALL TIME. I mean, sure, it's got Popeye in it, whatever. IT'S SO FREAKIN WET. When it's 90 degrees you need this thing.
Popeye can easily defeat Thanos with the power of spinach
The power of the infinity spinach could never be beat

Lol good one
My girlfriend told me “this ride isn’t that wet”. We hit our first water fall and I just stared at her while soaked to my soul.
I can think of only one time where I got off that ride not soaked...
...I was also wearing a poncho
My friend and I were wringing our socks out after this ride, soaked head to toe and anither guest stopped with a look of absolute horror on her face and wanted to know which ride we went on so she could avoid it 🤣
😂
I remember it was so wet I saw lady risingnit in a chrochet bikini.
My family kept murmuring about how odd it was.
Been years but yooooo this same shit happened to me when i was about 7 but it was my mom who told the lie🤣🤣🤣
Love this ride! Got on twice in one day, back to back. One of those people dryers and a full day walking around in the sun later, and I was still soaked 😂
I went for a field trip one time and we went on it 3x in a row. 😂 let's just say that we were soaked for the rest of the day
Thumbs up for the Cuphead music, it's perfect.

Thank you! The plan is to incorporate more video game soundtracks if possible. It has worked out really well for our Popeye and Spider-Man videos.
does any still play the game?...no?...................................um...........ooooooooooook
@@zomboss9242 Considering that it just got released for the Switch, I would assume quite a few people are playing it. 😅
Actually Bluto reminds me of that pirate boss from the game
For a "small fee..." zoom in, its $5 for about a minute max. It barely works, on a hot day, it's faster to just walk yourself dry, lol.
I have never seen anyone use it, lmao.

Ahh, I remember the days when Popeye characters and Popeye's Chicken used to be together.
I once jumped into a pool fully clothed. I got out dryer than I got off this ride!!!
This is the BEST water ride ever. Its impossible to not get wet. Its long too
I used to hate water rides where you got absolutely soaked, because I hated walking around the rest of the theme park with wet clothes. Even nowadays with those dryers that they always have, they never get you completely dry, plus the price to use them is normally extortionate!

Oops he already did Poseidon’s fury :((
yoonginfires No, he hasn’t.

Doctor Doom’s Fear Fall would be a good one

I love how your channel uploads often
This is a great ride with excellent theming throughout!
Thank you! I rode this once at night and I was unhappy for the rest of the night.
Btw, can you do Escape from Gringotts when you cover Harry Potter?
OML yessssss
J Terry TV i mean there’s not much history since it’s new
As a person who loooooves Popeye but hates water rides, thanks for doing the coverage on this ride! No suggestions from me, just keep doing what you’re doing because I love your channel!
Yes! I've been asking for this! Thank you Theme Park History!
You asked and we delivered! Once again thank you for the suggestion The Skull & Spooky Channel.
The history of the Sword the Stone show that use to have at magic kingdom or other Disney parks would be amazing.
I rode this on my only trip to Islands Of Adventure...and got so soaked that I chose to leave the Dudley Do-Right ride "for another day".
Dudley Do-Right is the worst for getting you wet believe me it gets you soaked
Mr Critical Popeyes is far worse
Why? Might as well ride Dudley Do-Right, it's not like you can get more wet than you do on Popeye. Then pay for the people dryer
Nearly 20yrs old! Its a great way to cool down in that hot Orlando sun though.
Fun times on this ride, glad I went on.
Definitely the wettest water ride I have ever been on, great video.
Great start to the week!
We switched up the release schedule this month to see the results. Whether it's the start of the week or the end, we hope you enjoyed the video!
An episode about the old Ghostbusters Spooktacular at Universal Studios Orlando would be awesome...
“Toot toot” great way to end the video, love it!
I’m Popeye the Sailor Man. I’m Popeye the Sailor Man. I’m strong to the finich, cause I eats me spinach. I’m Popeye the Sailor Man!

LOVEEEE THIS RIDE! Come out soaked every time lmaoo
I rode this 10 times today and loved every second of it. It was near closing so the TMs just let me stay on and loaded passengers around me lolol
I hope this ride never gets replaced. I love Popeye and I don't know when I'll get the chance to visit Universal.
Your videos are some of the best on youtube! Keep up the good work mate!
Great Job as always!
I love how you actually credit your music (and video) sources.

I don't think anyone can have an unhealthy love of spinach.. just a love of spinach. It's healthy.
I mean too much of anything is bad
My 2nd favorite water ride. It is certainly the best of all the round boat style water rides.

I rode this in winter. Still had fun.
My family’s favorite ride. To end the week we rode it 15 times in a row continuously over 3 hours. Only stopped because the Sun went down. Highly recommended.
Same. The ride is seemingly never crowded.
