I have this exact car but mine has the technology package with Head Up Display, Pilot Assist, etc. The only trouble I am having is with the Android OS. The welcome chime stopped working and the remote start feature doesn't work. I've taken it to Volvo once and they got it working but then it stopped again. I'm hoping that a future software update will fix these problems. Having said all that, I really like my Volvo...especially the Pilot Assist because it works really well. Yes, the suspension is a little rough driving over railroad tracks and potholes but it's not too bad. Also, the auto start/stop is really smooth. You hardly even notice when it working.
I have a 2017 XC60, the last year with all of the physical buttons. I'm in the market now, like the way the Volvo's drive, but them doing away with all of the buttons (especially for a brand that built it's reputation on safety really bothers me), would you say that is a deal breaker?.
I've always liked the look of Volvo, never owned one. The few people that I've known that have, swore by them prior to 2005 or so. Since then the reliability reputation is not so good, cool and kind of quirky like Subuaru, but against Lexus or Acura, it's a dead man walking. Great review.
What Ive heard in regards to the suspension is that the R-Design (which you appear to have in this vehicle?) is supposed to have very firm suspension. A colleague of mine has a pretty similar car and even with the air suspension comfort is good but not stellar. So maybe either get the Momentum Pro or the Inscription since they are not that hard in terms of suspension. I do not know if this is 100% fact or just stuff I have read and experienced. Once I get my own Momentum Pro I will be able to better judge it compared to my colleagues R Design one. Loved the video, you can really tell you have immense knowledge when it comes to cars. To be able to convey so many informations in such a short video. Many other youtuber could not have done that in 20+ minutes. Kudos and keep it up! Edit: Sorry I have to correct myself. It seems you do have the Momentum line, you mentioned it I just missed it before. If you think suspension is not good on this trim do not try R Design as thats supposed to be even harder.
Unfortunately this was not the R design, this was a B5 Momentum in my full review I shared the window sticker for this particular car. But you’re right air suspension could help a ton for this vehicle this model I tested didn’t have it, I hope the one you order has the air ride would love to get your thoughts. Humbled by your kind words my friend just glad I can provide value. Really like Volvos approach to cars
I have an XC40 Recharge and can confirm. The suspension is absolute trash. I mean, I know why it's the way it is (the PHEV is a very heavy car and needs firm suspension) but it's so bad to the point I took it to the dealers thinking it's a defect, and they said it's normal and there is nothing that can be done aside from fitting it with after market suspension. Granted, on a highway with very smooth bumps it sways gently but I'm rarely driving on the highway. But on the city, it feels like there is no suspension at all, just the smaller potholes jerk you around violently and you hear an unholy sound as if you hit a landmine. I had a 2019 Tucson before it and it was miles better in terms of suspension.
Isn't the point of integrating the climate controls into the Google system the ability to go 100% hands-free? "Hey, Google. Set temperature to 70 and fan to 3," for example? Mine is on order, but it worked well when I took it home for a weekend test drive. Hope it works, because this made me nervous as well. Thanks for pointing it out.
I have a B5 Inscription. Seats are awesome. After that, it's so poorly designed that I'm looking to get rid of it after 1,000 miles. And the Google system is a joke. Mine is loaded but no remote start for Android. "We're hoping later this year," I was told. No worries, it'll be gone by then. No, I don't hate this vehicle. But VERY disappointed. Questions? I'll be happy to answer them.
I still love Volvo for safety reasons I don’t like Lexus bcuz it’s outdated and the quality doesn’t seem up there, I get so much respect driving a Volvo! But my question is would you still consider Volvo or no?
@@Emrico35 I test drove the X3 - the problem for me was the legroom was a bit tight for me, but that's a personal issue. A friend bought an X3 and loves it. I wish I'd gotten the X3. Test drive them and then decide, but the infotainment system sucks in the XC60.

No physical HVAC controls is a big con for me.
Agreed

@@curtvlietstra7296 Clicking HVAC dials is so much easier than talking to your car.
Hello. Is it more comfortable then X3?
No
Honestly I’d avoid a new Volvo that’s a T6 or T8 and the SUV’s with Air Suspension if you’re worried about reliability.
If you buy and dump cars right that should never be a concern

I'm planning to buy BMW X3 or XC60, which you suggest? Which more comfortable? Family car.
