Hello from Sweden. Volvo are made, developed and tested here in Gothenburg (my home town) with some assembly plants in Belgium, USA and in China (for the Asian market). The Geely company, who owns Volvo, has left the Swedish engineers to do what they are best at: building cars with high quality. The Chinese owners, Geely, takes care of the financing part, Volvo Cars in Sweden produces them. The engines are also developed, tested and made here in Sweden, mainly in the town of Skövde. This "China thing" is very, very strange. When we buy our high end iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, our Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, Philips flat TV, our Apple MacBook's, HP, ASUS, Huawei... PC's they are *all* made in China... and with a great great quality too. And almost every single computer part - graphic cards, CPU's, RAM, motherboards, SSD's etc, etc - are made in China. The Volvos which are built in China, for the Asian market, are just as good as those built in Sweden, Belgium or the USA. Just take a look at the Chinese high speed trains and their railway system, the best in the world today. The time when China produced just garbage is long gone...
